I may still be up for a while. Thursday was the last day of my rotation. I figured I'd wrap presents on Friday. Well, the oldest was home with a fever. No problem, I'll just do them today. Picture all the presents and wrapping paper strewn all over the living room and dining room, when I get a call at 10:30 to pick up my daughter because she was sick at school. After a real quick shove-everything-down-the-basement, I went to get her. She took a 2 hour nap, so i was able to get everything hidden. They just went to bed a little while ago, so I'll be heading back down the basement to finish up.

I still have to pick up 1 or 2 more little things for Linda's stocking, and a gift certificate for my goddaughter. But otherwise, I'm finished. Then I can finish up the baking and cleaning so we're ready for a full house on Christmas Eve. We're really excited that everyone is coming here. It will be a lot of work and the sleeping arrangements may get interesting, but I'm really looking forward to it.

Well, Mike, you brought a smile to my face! We've been hosting Xmas for my "Rents" for the last few years since they moved to the Jersey shore in their retirement, it adds to the insanity, but it does make for a nice festive holiday!:grouphug:

I have a better idea....let's leave all the under 18's up here with Joanne's girls and the adults can move to FL. If the kids want to visit they have to have good grades and we will foot the travel expenses, round trip of course. :lmao: :cool1: :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :worship: :worship: :worship:

I would ask you to come down here and finish up my stuff, but you seem to have your hands full. :confused3
But, I was able to get most of my wrapping done today and I'll finish it up tomorrow. Started the packing this evening. Now to bring up the suitcases tomorrow and then fight to crowds at BJ's or Costco Wed. morning to pick up a couple of things to make for Christmas Eve, which will be spent at my brother's.

Usually we go away this week.......but this year we're just going up to NYC, b/c the girls have been away this fall........have a wonderful time and be sure to tell us all about your trip!!!

I finally got around to uploading some pictures of our Christmas decorations. Here are our trees this year:

we usually have a tree set up in our basement too, but we just ran out of time this year. Here's a link to some other pictures if you're interested. i made all of the swags and wreaths, and you'll notice the snowflakes that I hot-glued to the ceiling.

We were just talking at dinner tonight saying we want to go up to NYC and eat at Junior's. We are all looking forward to that, now we just have to figure out when to head up there. We might not make it up there until Feb. when DH takes off a few days while DD is off from school.

It's a 24 hour store. I prefer to shop in the middle of the night. (Well, actually I prefer not to shop at all, but you gotta do what you gotta do.)

I'm sending my girls out during the day tomorrow while I'm at work....killing two birds as they say.........:rolleyes1 popcorn::

I can't tell you how many times this holiday season alone that I said i wished I could send the kids to the store.

:cool1: Your trees look great......I've always wanted more than one, but not yet.........:santa:

Very nice Mike. :thumbsup2 I thought I had a lot of Disney ornaments, but you may just have me beat. But then since my tree is so big it could be about the same. I have a 4 foot tree that is all Disney ornaments. I can't find my Minnie tree topper from the store from many, many years ago. :sad1:

I found a good rate from the first to the third and now we're going to the Bronx for New Year's with family...........it should be interesting....... :lovestruc :) :goodvibes

I usually put up 3, but this last couple of years I've only done 2 - my big one and the 4 foot one. It depends if we decide to travel next year if I go back to putting up the 3rd one or not.

My younger son is mad that we're not moving as soon as I graduate in May.

And I agree on the good grades part. The kids saw me work really hard and they know I don't expect any less from them. (I just squeaked by, but i did get an A for my clinical rotation! :woohoo:)

I just found out that I'm "volunteered" to go to the grocery store Weds morning. I guess I should be used to getting "volunteered" after hanging around on this thread with Julie & Laura. (Love you both! )

Mike - :woohoo: :woohoo: Congrats!

Barb - we  to volunteer people - huh Mike????? :rotfl:

OK Just another quick drive-by. Tomorrow is the JV soccer Christmas breakfast where we unveil our secret pals. I managed to hunt down a 3-D soccer necklace with moral values printed on the back. (It just basically says that we will play with honor, virtue and true sportsmanship. I was in a quandry because I wanted to have them blessed and Megan came to the rescue. On her last night of catechism she had Fr John Paul come by the classroom and he blessed all 22 medallions. So, off I go to find some small stockings and insert them in. The yucky part is that breakfast is at 8 am :scared1:

No rest for this wicked lady - got to go eat and find them pesky bags. Will hope to catch up later. I'm also trying to make some lasts minute ornaments from the rubber foam kits with their soccery number on it to put outside the bag. Anyone else come up with these fabulous ideas at the last minute? Don't get me wrong - love the ideas - just wish they came with more time. :rotfl2:

:wave2:

My basement tree has a good amount of Disney ornaments too, because the unbreakable ones go down there. Every year, we each pick out a new ornament at Disney World to add to the tree. With 5 of us, they add up quickly.

That sounds like fun. We just go up for the day do some shopping, eating and looking around.
