Hello all!

Had a lot of ketchup to do. Happy Hannaukah to all who celebrate. We went to my DSIL's mom's house yesterday for Hannaukah dinner. Christmas will be by me on Thursday.

Yes, we've certainly had really rotten weather. We chopped ice on the sidewalk for over 2 hrs. yesterday. Today is it about 20 degrees F with a windchill of -2. It should warm up though.

Just have 1 more day at school. One of my students was absent for the exam and the makeup is tomorrow so I have to proctor. Then we don't go back until the Monday after New Years.

Thank for the pic of us at the Mini Dis meet last year! What great memories it brought back!!!!!

Stay warm and dry everyone!

Hang in there, Maryann.........:dance3:........one more day!!

Well.......just 37 more posts until our next pirate: .......at this point I'm thinking Brit Chat will do it..........:cool1:  :worship:

You'll be following me down 95, this weather is too frigid for me. :cold: :sad1: :cold:

I'll join that caravan down 95 too. Only 9 more years til the twins graduate high school, and then maybe we'll be on our way to Florida.

I agree, thx to Barb, Andrew and all of us who share their info and background knowledge to help us get prepared (I'm starting to get psyched as we enter the New Year!)

And just think...after the first we can say we're going on our cruise "next year"!

I may still be up for a while. Thursday was the last day of my rotation. I figured I'd wrap presents on Friday. Well, the oldest was home with a fever. No problem, I'll just do them today. Picture all the presents and wrapping paper strewn all over the living room and dining room, when I get a call at 10:30 to pick up my daughter because she was sick at school. After a real quick shove-everything-down-the-basement, I went to get her. She took a 2 hour nap, so i was able to get everything hidden. They just went to bed a little while ago, so I'll be heading back down the basement to finish up.

I still have to pick up 1 or 2 more little things for Linda's stocking, and a gift certificate for my goddaughter. But otherwise, I'm finished. Then I can finish up the baking and cleaning so we're ready for a full house on Christmas Eve. We're really excited that everyone is coming here. It will be a lot of work and the sleeping arrangements may get interesting, but I'm really looking forward to it.

Fine, let's go.......:car:

I have a better idea....let's leave all the under 18's up here with Joanne's girls and the adults can move to FL. If the kids want to visit they have to have good grades and we will foot the travel expenses, round trip of course. :lmao: :cool1: :thumbsup2

I would ask you to come down here and finish up my stuff, but you seem to have your hands full. :confused3
But, I was able to get most of my wrapping done today and I'll finish it up tomorrow. Started the packing this evening. Now to bring up the suitcases tomorrow and then fight to crowds at BJ's or Costco Wed. morning to pick up a couple of things to make for Christmas Eve, which will be spent at my brother's.

My younger son is mad that we're not moving as soon as I graduate in May.

And I agree on the good grades part. The kids saw me work really hard and they know I don't expect any less from them. (I just squeaked by, but i did get an A for my clinical rotation! :woohoo:)

I just found out that I'm "volunteered" to go to the grocery store Weds morning. I guess I should be used to getting "volunteered" after hanging around on this thread with Julie & Laura. (Love you both! )

How dare you disappoint your youngest son and not move south when you graduate?!? :confused3 :lmao: To think you are only looking after their well-being. What kind of parent are you?!? :rotfl: :lmao: :confused3 :rotfl2:  :dance3: :dance3:

I've gotten the same disappointed comments from my DD, especially when the weather is like this.

You are just a volunteering kind of guy. :thumbsup2 Here's a tip...go very early or very late Tues. night. By very early, I mean about the time they open or if open 24 hours around 7:00 or so if not a little earlier.

Thanks for the tip. I don't do mornings, so I was thinking about heading out around midnight tomorrow night.

Are your stores 24 hours or do they close around 1:00? DH's store closes at 1:00 and it can get pretty busy about 12:30 right before the holidays. He usually has to go up and check to keep the lines moving and get the customers out the door so they can close on time or very close to it.

I guess you're right. Last weekend we met friends from our repo cruise at "A Dicken's of a Christmas" at Mount Hope, where they put on the PA Renaissance Faire. I got "volunteered" to go onstage and help out with the 12 Days of Christmas. I'll never think of Six geese-A-Laying the same way again.

It's a 24 hour store. I prefer to shop in the middle of the night. (Well, actually I prefer not to shop at all, but you gotta do what you gotta do.)

Definately better off going around midnight. You'll only have to deal with the drunks then. :lmao:
