:teacher: Okay in the US we have High School 4 years before college, Grades 9,10,11,12 Freshman, Sophmore, Junior, Senior (College is the same).

Ice Hockey is like soccer (Football to you) So you have Forwards 3 per line and Defense 2.

So of Allen's Sophmore class 2 students made the team as forwards & I think 1 student on Defense. The Team consists of 20 players.:cool1:

How did I do in my explanation?

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

:worship: :rotfl2: I LOVE IT! What makes this even funnier is that on The Today Show this morning they were playing the song, "IASW" and I thought of everyone here. :grouphug:
But we must also say that it's for Joanne as well since she also loves the ride.

Ok I get it, sophmore is the name of the grade and forward is the position in the team.

Another question, what is the age of the kids in grade 9, 10, 11, 12 ? In the UK schools the years in secondary school equate as follows
year 7 = age 12
year 8 = 13
year 9 = 14
year 10 = 15
year 11 = 16
year 12 = 17
year 13 = 18

after that it's onto university. There is the opition to leave secondary school at the end of year 11 and go to college if the school you are at doesn't do the courses that you want to take at Advanced Level before going onto uni. However all unis have a minimum number of points and A level grades they require before they offer a place.

Ages are the same and your 'years' are our grades. But everyone must stay until the end of year/grade 12 at the end of high school. Technically you can leave before the end of your senior year but then you are a drop-out and would not have a diploma that says you graduated high school. I'm sure there are ways around this and you can end earlier, but with the state mandated testing that is required in DE it would be hard. Not sure about other states with this.
In high school, credits are earned and you have to have the correct number of credits in each required course to graduate - at least that's how the schools in DE operate. When I graduated we only needed 18 credits to graduate, now I think DD will need 22 or 23 credits to graduate. I loved my senior year in high school I was finished for the day at 11:15 and could leave.

We are having another educational day on this thread. :thumbsup2

Thats my 2 cents!

No to the Eurostar stopping at Dover. Nearest would be Ashford but that's not so near and the connections from there to Dover would be lousy, you'd probably find yourself going back into town before heading back out to Dover.

Here's the link to the Eurostar website.

So if you're going to DLP then you won't be needing an invite to the party at our house the night before we sail :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1
