No Mod or ANYONE else for that matter has edited your post Andrew!
Just thought I would let you know. If indeed anyone had edited it (including yourself) it would show up as edited.

I sure hope the Dis Boards provide some Medical Coverage for Phsyciatric care because I swear all the Moderators think that they are being singled out in any harmless post that happens to poke fun at them (genericaly).:sad2:

This is entertainment it is social media! This is what is wrong with society today everyone takes everything to seriousely.:scared1:;):lmao:

Poor Andrew is it any wonder he has developed a complex that all the Moderator's are out to get him?:eek:popcorn:::surfweb:

Oh I opened a can of worms now!:scared:

Who appoints these people as Moderators anyway ?? Americans tend to be way too serious ! When we were in Italy last , dh and I wanted to move there ! What a stress-free place !:cloud9: And I, too, wish they'd lay off Andrew. What a fun guy and so thoughtful and helpful !:flower3:

Andrew, 46 days on DCL; Princess & NCL to Hawaii ; 6 other NCL cruises ( 3 on NORWAY, 1 was a 19 day cruise that was suppose to be her final voyage. We were crossing the Atlantic, headed for Scotland when the planes hit the World Trade Center !! What a cruise that was. Then 2 HAL, PC and Canada/New England ; 2 on the old Premiere Cruise Line...Oceanic & Atlantic ) The Big Red Boat ( owned by Greyhound Bus Line ) ; RCCL 4 , 1 was the Jewel in the Baltic 2 yrs ago ; 3 Carnival ( all Caribbean ).Our 1st cruise was 34 yrs ago, our honeymoon ,on the Costa Flavia...very small & has since sunk :sad2: I think I'm missing a couple.

Gina,
Sounds like you two REALLY do like cruising.:cool1:. I couldn't even keep count of all the cruises and cruise lines you've sailed with. DH & I have done somewhere between 15-20 cruises but like you, you lose count of them all. We did our first one in the early 80's on the Big Red Boat but I thought at the time they were featuring Disney characters. (albeit not owned by Disney) I didn't know they were owned by Greyhound Bus line :lmao: Speaking of 9-11, we almost got stranded in Tahiti. We were on a Renaissance cruise line cruise of the islands and got home 1 week before 9-11 happened. Good thing though because 9-11 was the straw that broke Renaissance CL back and those that were sailing on her at that time did get stranded without a ship. :scared1:

I went to 4 more stores today, including Walmart and still can't find any post cards. Well let's just say any post cards for something near me. I could get Los Angeles and Hollywood, but I live two hours away from there. I can get some from the OC but I live well over an hour away from there.
I may just have to use the dead grape post cards after all.:sad2:

I'm sure you'll find plenty of post cards in the airport before you fly. Found some today - harder to find than I thought. You'd figure they'd be all over in NY but we are on Long Island in a non-touristy area. Went to the local mall and found them tucked away in the back of a stationary store. Yippee!!!

Interesting about your 9-11 experience. We were having lunch when the Capt made the announcement . The show that night was cancelled and instead, the entertainers sang patriotic songs...very emotional. TV's set up all over the ship w/ CNN. NCL allowed everyone 1 phone call and free internet service. It sure changed the mood of the ship.:sad1:

I found some at Rite-Aid,they had about five different types. Someone at work told to try gas stations. Have not looked there yet.

Okay you can PM me as the Modster's never bother with those!

No Mod or ANYONE else for that matter has edited your post Andrew!
Just thought I would let you know. If indeed anyone had edited it (including yourself) it would show up as edited.

I think he meant it as a joke.:)

OK.

It was a joke, -To Robert in fact, -not at any Mod's, but I can see you (or I) am not able to even crack a single joke, without intervention. The comments on cruise critic were correct.:sad2: This ......oh why bother???

I am sure that being a Moderator is a thankless job (also unpaid:scared1:) & there are times when they should intervene, but that was just a random Mod who commented out of the blue & it got me PO'd as I was having fun with Andrew!

Besides if anyone is going to pick on Andrew it should be ME! ::yes:: :thumbsup2 :lmao: :rotfl2:

Look guys, I will see you all in a week.
::yes:: as I will be in Merry Old alot sooner than that!:thumbsup2

Almost forgot

Good Morning All!

Ok, am I in the minority here?
I happen to appreciate the Mods very much:grouphug:

Sometimes how funny a joke is depends on who is making it and who they are teasing.
Basically if you go around telling everybody how bad the Mods are and how you are going to leave the DIS Boards after this next cruise...

I'm guessing that was why the comment was taken the way it was:confused3

It would have annoyed me if I had been in their position as well.

But just let's leave it at that....:goodvibes

Other than formal & semi formal (& Palo) we are casual, but not scruffy - girls were t-shirt material dresses - easy to pack & can be worn the following day assuming they are not carrying last nights dinner on it!

Saw some chat a while back about meds - in the UK antibiotics etc. are not bought over the counter, you have to get a prescription from a doctor.

Pics of puppy - too cute!

Weather in UK is still gorgeously hot & sunny.

Off to start packing

Celestine
Yes, I had to keep reminding the crew...no clothes with holes, tears or stains and it has to fit properly too:rolleyes: So we should be casual mostly, but not scruffy as well.

Never heard of anyone here getting antibiotics without a prescription:confused3 I did see that on another thread I think and I wondered about that.

We usually don't pack many otc meds but we have a little pharmacy this time of just in case medicine: bonine, sinus meds, Advil, immodium, cough drops, tums and pepto bismol. We didnt' want to get sick and have to try and buy them in Russia or somewhere where we wouldn't know what we were getting. If anyone needs anything they forgot and we have it, just ask!

Do you need a sweater or jacket at night? I haven't gotten around to looking up the 10 day forecasts yet. We figured we'd pack clothing we can layer. I still am having a hard time cutting down from 10 pair of shoes....
Also packing a mini-pharmacy:thumbsup2

Planning on 3 or 4 pairs of shoes tops for me, the boys get 2:rolleyes1

In the UK it is now more usual not be given anything for a sore throat. Just advice about yucky salt water gargling. Hope he is given a clean bill of health, and if not, he's not sitting next to me on the coach!

Celestine
:thumbsup2
Years ago I took my DS in for a sore throat and fever. He had all the symptoms of strep and the doc took a throat swab to make sure. Since my DD was with me he swabbed her throat as well just in case. I remember thinking as he left "how does he keep those swabs straight?" Sure enough when the results came back DD (no symptoms) was positive for strep and DS (all symptoms) negative. I had them redo the tests before giving antibiotics and they both came back positive the second time.

I have seen it suggested to have a sweater or jacket. I usually wear mine on to the plane anyway since they are usually pretty chilly. Sweatshirt for a pillow and jacket for a blanket. Granted they usually end up as my daughters pillow and extra blanket while I shiver...
:lmao:Too funny.
I'm always reminding my DD to take a sweater because when we hit the air conditioning in restaurants and theaters she turns to me and complains how she is freezing and invariably gets my sweater:rolleyes:

Well he is back at the club with the rest of the family & it is not strep!:headache:
That's good:thumbsup2
Glad it's not strep:goodvibes

We are here in San Francisco and look forward to our cruise on July 18th!!
Dumbo4ever!!
looking forward to this on as well:woohoo:

Good news !! :thumbsup2

DH's tooth much better. Thanks for all the well wishes !

TEN PAIRS OF SHOES !?!?!? :scared1: I was trying to get down to 4...what the heck ! Five's not so bad !! :confused3

I think the last week is the slowest ! I've cleaned my house, done my wash, am half packed, all my paper work in order....don't know what to do with myself ??? I'm so excited I can't even sit still to read a book ! SO EXCITED !!
Glad your DH is better:thumbsup2:goodvibes
I need help, can you come to my house now...;)

Gina,
Come to my house please and clean it. :worship: We have a housesitter coming and I feel compelled to at least straigthen it up. The laundry will be done :laundy: but it's just all the paper clutter that needs organizing. She's coming over for a visit tomorrow and will probably run the other way , especially if she takes a look at my office :sad2::rotfl2:

Ok, then after Sandy's house:laughing:

No lets not!:headache:

I like everybody equally, this includes the Mods, Some of which are good friends!

however joking is joking and should be taken as such!

You should not have to worry about horseplay when it is not incesative!

Mods are not a protected class & should not be extra sensative or act like bull's (cahrging whenever you wave a red flag in front of them)!

Basically I believe that the Moderator tag should be used on an anomouse:lmao: basis & not a tag attached to your regular posting handle as that would solve alot of the issues:thumbsup2

That & for those who are Mods not to take board criticism so hard! The ability to criticize (including make fun of) the powers that be is the basis for all democracy and the true marker of an open society!

As Pete would say Rant Over!

Same state, right:goodvibes

Just curious... what airline charges 90 pounds for a first checked bag, and with a 10kg limit on weight?
I was wondering that too:confused3

I bet the dead grape post cards are nicer than you think they are.

Nooooooo, not really.:rotfl2:

:lmao::lmao:

When we were in Italy last , dh and I wanted to move there ! What a stress-free place !:cloud9:
A good friend of mine is from Italy...and she is very glad she left:confused3
She likes it much better here in the US and often tells me stories of what it was like in Naples. Grew up in a 2 room shack with 15 brothers and sisters. She is doing much better here:cool1:

She does go back to visit family and took my DS last year with her DS. It is a beautiful country:thumbsup2

This past week, the NYTimes did a 36 hr itinerary in Copenhagen. Here is a link in case you want to check it out.

Looking forward to the trip.

The Leblanc Family

That's great:thumbsup2
Thanks for the link:goodvibes

Robert I don't think the Moderator posted anything that bad:confused3
She just clarified that the post was in fact not edited.
I imagine any newbies would not know that about the editing message otherwise. Still people that don't know about the green lights for when someone is logged in.

Mods are allowed to post their opinions too:confused3

She didn't give him points for anything or scold him. She just clarified as she thought it was necessary.

Just disagree with you on this one:confused3

We can debate the merits of that on the ship counselor;)
over scrumpy of course:laughing:

I have seen the same joke several times over the past couple months...maybe this was just one time too many:confused3

whatever:upsidedow

Hi Everyone;
Is there a list of the DIS events/times that are planned anywhere? Kids events too? I'm getting into the cruise planning a little late this time, so I may not have time to read through all the threads:)

Also, I have read that we will need to book DCL excursions in order to get off the ship in St Petersburg, since we do not have visas. Is there a way to buy a visa when we get there?

If you don't have a visa, but take a DCL excursion, then can you stay off the ship for the rest of the day, or must you return right after the excursion?

Thanks for any help!
Krista from Canada
and Graham, Kalyssa, Genoa, Grandma and Grandpa!
