Got our verizon loaner phones so we are set for any lost kids (or adults) while in port:woohoo:
Loosing one's children could be a good thing!;):lmao::banana:

I'm going to start packing today....:cool1:
Yes we went home today to pick up the things we do not have with us for this trip.

Starting to pack, and finish up alot of loose ends!:dance3:

News Flash::banana::yay:
I found post cards!!! We went to Old Town Temecula today and after having lunch we walked to several shops before we finally found post cards, oh and a pound and a half of fudge...:lmao::rotfl2::lmao::lmao:

I'm sure this has been posted like a hundred times, but found out that we can't use the Disney Ground Transfer from Heathrow to the hotel.

Does anyone know the approximate cost for a cab from Heathrow to Westminster Bridge? If it's not too expensive we'll do that otherwise, it's the tube for us...with four bags. :scared1:

Thanks for the help,

How's the driving going? Has Andrew come home without shakey hands and a cramp in his braking foot?

No not yet. She is doing a lot better. We went up to the mountains and she was driving well until we were on a narrow road with people parked on both sides and cars coming towards us. She ALMOST hit a few parked cars. I took back over after that.

I went through this with three kids. My oldest had a cassette tape she had to play every time we got in the car. For some reason it kept her calm. I did notice a difference when we didn't have it playing. My youngest didn't want to drive until she was 18. She was pretty easy except for the day she drove into the garage without opening the door first.:confused3 My son did the best and was always calmer than me;).

Thanks for the help,

We are using Eddie Manning from Heathrow to Renaissance Chancery Court, and he's charging 69 pounds + tip

Go to http://www.heathrowairport.com/ then at the top left click on the button that says "to and from Heathrow" you can click on the taxis button or the Heathrow to Central London and they show different ways to get there. We are leaning towards the AddisonLee private hire minicab (which is under the taxi button). For the four of us and our luggage it looks like 76 pounds to the Park Plaza Westminster. The bus is a little less but may take up to an hour longer, due to them having more than one group on the bus.

Thank you both. We will probably go with a private service as well.

Tammy, I'm not really good with this stuff, but noticed that the beginning of your QUOTE had a parenthesis instead of a bracket. All I do is hit quote under someones post and when the box pops up, I add to the end of it.

Thanks again for the help. Started to panic a bit with only a few days left before we leave.

See you all in England!! :)

The packing has begun!
We will have a long day of driving on Saturday before we board but are overnighting in Calais, before driving aboard a ferry for Dover. What an adventure - a boat trip for us, and for our car! ha ha. Luckily it is a very short drive between the ferry port and cruise parking to remember to drive on the left!

I too have started packing...and unpacking....and repacking.....and unpacking again:rotfl: I think it is great that this cruise & particularly this this thread has a wide range of people, interests, experiences & geographical locations. From this thread alone we cover swathes of the USA, Canada, Germany, Switzerland and others I'm sure I never noticed. I'm sure we'll all have a great time and I look forward to seeing you all this time next week. If any of you (even if you are not on the bus) have any problems when you are in the UK, please feel free to contact me by PM, or e-mail (panama08@ntlworld.com), or cell (+447944714866)

We managed to get 1/4 of us packed last night!

I was looking up the weather for each port/day and it looks like we should have decent weather. It will feel freezing compared to the 100 plus degrees we've had here this week but as long as it doesn't snow, rain hard or hail we'll be fine! We've had enough of that this year ourselves.

Can anyone tell me what would be appropriate attire for watching The Lion King play in London? I don't want us to be over or under dressed. My boys have plenty of Polo shirts and khakis. DH has tons of them too--would he need a tie/button down? It's been 20 years since I've been to a play in London and I certainly don't recall what anyone had on.

Thanks for the help,

We are in the same situation since we booked the Park Plaza Westminister Bridge through Expedia. At first DCL said we had transfers and then said we couldn't have them from the airport to the hotel, but we do have them to the port.

We saved over $100 from Disney pricing booking through Expedia per night so it will be more than enough in savings to pay a cab. There's 5 of us and we have 5 bags and my MIL will have 2 bags. She wants to use the Tube but there's no way we could all easily carry the bags up the long sets of stairs. I read some where on this web site on a previous Baltic cruiser's trip report that they had to get passerbys to carry their bags up for their kids and I don't want to have to deal with that. My husband's step- sister is working/living in London and is helping set up a car service of some sort for us.

This time tomorrow we will be in the air

Just about packed

The countdown has started

have a great day one and all!
