I always cry during Wishes, but I have to tell you I really cried during Holiday Wishes. Absolutely spectacular! I can't wait to see it again.

Kathy, if you promise not to tell anyone, Wishes brings a tear to my eye as well everytime I watch it... But as a commercial I heard puts it, if you see tears coming from a mans eyes it's not crying, it's his awesome leaking out. :lmao::rotfl2:

Fantastic pics of Cindy's castle. My 15 year old DD said those pics are "sic." I guess for us a little more... um... not in our teens (LOL) that would mean awesome or groovy depending on which generation you are from. :rotfl:

Love the fireworks photos - count me in as someone else who cries during Wishes - DH thinks I am crazy ! :)

I can't imagine not crying during wishes no matter how many times I see it. Holiday Wishes will have me bawling I'm sure

December9Part1086.jpg

What the heck do you do with a nine pound lemon anyway?

We decided to go see the Three Calabreros:

Continued in next post

see them? you've been travelin with them for days!:rotfl2:

I think someone decided to help someone with his nose

December9Part1130.jpg
that has to be the most picked on nose ever :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Another silly hat shot:

so much fun!!

Des insisted on buying me a Slush in France (I think she wanted to taste it):

December9Part1179.jpg

Maybe she was trying to soften the goodbye blow :(

bummer on the noisy screechy child. but it looks like you enjoyed dinner despite!

Saying good bye is sad, but at least you had something to look forward to that evening!

Andy and Des look cute in their matching red. My hubby has that same red shirt - I love the white edging on it and think its very flattering :cloud9:

Here is what the kids had:

DisneyChristmasTripwAndysFamily2012435.jpg

I have a tummy ache just looking at all the sugar in that drink. It needs alcohol to "neutralize" the sweetness!

I like going to Cosmic Rays--it is definitely a favorite fall back place. We try to find new places each time but we always know we'll find something good at Rays!

There was no line for Peter Pan so we hopped over to ride that

WOW we have never seen Peter Pan with no line!

Decembrr92012Part2098.jpg

LOVE the Mickey container! I bet he looks cute with your Christmas decorations at home Kathy!

Your castle photos are just awesome. I love the light show - gorgeous!!!

You day in Epcot seems perfect. Not rushed... not like you had anywhere to be. I think that is why Epcot is one of my favorite parks.

It is just a shame that Nikki and Todd had to leave . :sad2:

The pictures of Andy and Des are so cute. She looks so pretty in red!

I love your castle pics! I am not sure why pictures of the castle always fill me with such joy, but they do and yours during the holiday Wishes certainly did the trick!

BTW, I really do want to try that Lafous brew... tell me it is a ton cheaper to get without the mug.

Oh, you are such a tease!!!! Waiting till Monday!!! Especially when you know I have nothing else to do with this storm. That is just mean!! :lmao:

I am so glad to know I am not alone when I cry at wishes! Maybe they put something in the air to make tears flow as the fireworks fly???

Sorry Tam....but I didn't think I'd be able to do one because I've been having major issues with my home computer. IF Photobucket cooperates, I should have an update done later today as I bought a new laptop today. I hope you are all safe from the storm.

Wishes just gets me every single time and Holiday Wishes even more so. But perhaps there is something in that pixie dust.....

Wonderful updates as always!!! Glad you enjoyed MVMCP!! I enjoyed going once to see the decorations and the check out the party. I think I prefer the Halloween themes better, though. Definitely enjoyed that parade more. Though I thought the Toy Soldiers were awesome!!!

See, I preferred the Christmas one to the Halloween one; I think it was a combination of much lower crowds, the decorations, parade and Holiday Wishes. Plus I prefer the Christmas holiday over Halloween.

Don't you just love how people will push and shove their way in front? We were tired one evening and just sat really early curbside for the parade, grabbed some snacks and just people watched. The kids played with the CMs who were entertaining the crowd. 5 minutes before the parade was to start, 2 extremely TALL people (mind you I am only 5'2") thought they deserved to grab some space in front of us. I was like umm, no I don't think so. And then they acted like they didn't speak English. Luckily, the CM saw them and made them move!

Seriously; if you want a front row seat, get there early and secure it. I've had a number who all of a sudden couldn't speak English. Glad the CM took care of it when you were there.

Absolutely LOVED the 7th photo in your fireworks group. The blue/black one of the castle. Gorgeous.

Thank you. :)

think the boys should always have dancing lessons before a wedding, makes the first dances so much prettier :)

I agree...especially if they have two left feet like all of the men in my family. :rotfl:

the castle and fireworks together always gets me too...and yes I do cry also!
way to save your spots!

There's just something about Disney and their fireworks.

WHAT Monday....no fair making us wait for the parade photos :sad1::sad1::sad1: guess we'd better break out the popcorn:: safe travels home!

As explained above, my old laptop was being a pain. But a new one purchased, so perhaps you'll get your update today.

Great pics. Yeah I cry during Wishes & Illuminations. I am a wimp.:) The music & everything just gets to me.

Seems there a lot of us wimps here on the DIS. :)

Yeah don't you just love the people that get there 2 minutes before the parade & think they are just going to move right on in on you. Like you said NOT happening. We hold our spot for a long time & that is OUR spot. I don't mind little ones sitting in front so they can see (if there's room) but some of these people have quite the nerve sometimes.

We don't mind little ones sitting in front of us either, as long as it's not the rude parents who were pushing and shoving.

Darn wpork gets in the way of Dis time all the time !!!:rotfl2:I loved your Wishes pix !!I never cease to get all teary eyed when the castle is changing colors and the fireworks are blazing !!:goodvibes

I hate when work gets in the way too, Rosie. Thank you...glad you enjoyed the pictures.

Just getting caught up on your MVMCP updates! Wow, you guys had some really short waits for rides during the party! I mean, they are usually pretty low, but I don't think I've ever seen Peter Pan have no line! :thumbsup2

Every ride was basically a walk on...it was like being at morning Extra Magic Hours. :thumbsup2

Yum, Disney popcorn! Someday I have to get one of those souvenir buckets, they are so cute, but so expensive!

I don't remember how much the bucket cost; I guess I just figured in case I didn't get back at the Christmas holidays, I'd best get it then.

Isn't Holiday Wishes the best? I LOVE it! It's definitely my favorite fireworks show, just the combination of Christmas music and Disney magic and fireworks makes it extra special, that's why I keep going back during Christmas season! :thumbsup2

It truly is; I love Hallowishes, but this tops it. I think you are right...it's the Christmas music that makes it all more special.

Ugh, I hate when you find a good spot for a parade and people try to shove their way in front of you. :sad2:

They were messing with the wrong person!

Wow! The three pictures after the one with Tink are spectacular, especially the first one!!!

Thank you, Mel. :goodvibes

Cute picture!

Thanks; I like that one and the one where they are walking in front of us holding hands.

You guys had so much fun at the Christmas Party! It's just such a festive time! I love the whole hot chocolate and cookie thing. It really fits in with the awesome theme.

And the cocoa wasn't bad either. :)

I think I still have another update to read.

I think you did read it...after you posted that. ;)

Very Pretty! This looks really cool!

Have to admit that was one of Des' pictures...she did awesome.

Ugh to people who try to move in on your parade spot. I have to say that the last few parades I watched I was surrounded by very nice guests.

We usually are too and these were foreigners and that just aggravated me all the more as I find most of them very selfish.

Gosh, I love having my internet back! I just read your whole TR from the very beginning to get caught up!

Ali's backc. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I LOVE this TR! You guys all look like you're having such an amazing time!

Thanks, Ali. The trip was all I hoped it would be.

We only went to MVMCP once and that was back in 2006. They didn't even have the ice lights on the castle yet! I always think about going back during the holiday season but October is just so much fun!!

We've not been in October since the kids were really little and they didn't have Food & Wine then that I remember. One of these days I want to get there for it; but for now, I'll stick to a Christmas trip.

I've got to get over and read your update...hopefully tonight or definitely tomorrow.

I cry during Wishes whe I watch it on Youtube! That's how big of a sap I am!!:)

I love it; when I need something to lift my spirits, I'll youtube Wishes...and then I can cry. :rotfl::rotfl:

You are wonderful! And yes, handwritten is a must. But...what is her mom doing? :confused3

Very good question. But this is the mother who couldn't or wouldn't take the time to go an do the Bridal Registry with her daughter, so I did it. Does that answer the question/

Fun update! That is the cutest popcorn container :thumbsup2 I love the light show on the castle, as much or maybe more than the fireworks. I'd really never seen it at all until the Halloween party and it was such a highlight.

I love my Mickey popcorn container. I can't believe you'd never seen the light show on the castle. I think it is really very special.

Wow, some of those Wishes pictures are incredible!!!

I'm with you, watching Wishes always makes me misty-eyed.

Thanks; I was really happy with what Andy, Des and I got in phohtos. We will add you to our list of "saps." :)

I followed you over from Judy's thread. I love the pictures you posted of the fireworks and it looks like your DH surprise trip was a huge success.

:welcome::welcome: I am delighted to have you here. It was a huge success and a trip we will never forget (probably our best trip ever).

You got some great pictures Kathy! Wishes gets me every time too.:goodvibes

See you Monday!

Thanks, Shannon....glad you enjoyed them. I hope to be back tonight after dinner (I've got a pork roast cooking in the oven) to do an update.

Wonderful updates, Kathy! I am sorry for the lack of comments, I have been reading along, but I had a crazy week at work and never got around to posting much. :scared1:

No apologies necessary, Karin. You have a trip coming up so I know you have to get things squared away at work.

I hope To is feeling better.

These are my favorites! Some beautiful shots!

Thank you. :goodvibes

I cry too during Wishes, especially Holiday Wishes! :goodvibes

Best firework show ever!

Morning Kathy just catching up before heading in to work !!Thank goodnes it is really close !! Last night was scarey driving home !!:crazy2:On the way in I saw an accident with a Metro bus and a car , well I didn't actually se the impact but sure saw the damage after The police hadn't even arrived yet so it had to have just happened !!!:crazy2: The Hill I have to use to got to my second job is treacherous and it was a white knuckle ride both ways !!:crazy2:

Rosie, I am so glad you are okay; I hope there were no serious injuries in the accident you saw.

Kathy, if you promise not to tell anyone, Wishes brings a tear to my eye as well everytime I watch it... But as a commercial I heard puts it, if you see tears coming from a mans eyes it's not crying, it's his awesome leaking out. :lmao::rotfl2:

I promise not to tell anyone. And I'm sure it was Andy's "awesome leaking out" when I saw the watery eyes on him while watching Holiday Wishes. ;)

Fantastic pics of Cindy's castle. My 15 year old DD said those pics are "sic." I guess for us a little more... um... not in our teens (LOL) that would mean awesome or groovy depending on which generation you are from. :rotfl:

LOVE IT! I miss those teenage years and the things they say. Okay, not really, but tell your daughter I appreciate it.

Love the fireworks photos - count me in as someone else who cries during Wishes - DH thinks I am crazy ! :)

Thanks, Linda; men just don't understand!

For some reason, Wishes doesn't get to me like that but Fantasmic does... :confused3

Really? I heard of people getting more emotional over Illimunations, but never Fantasmic (but I definitely prefer Fantasmic over Illimunations

Great fireworks pictures! They are beautiful! And, you already know that I'm a crier too. :sad1:

I knew you would be a crier like me. Thanks...glad you liked the pictures.

Count me in as a Wishes crier :grouphug:

Heck, I cry on DME :rolleyes1

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:I assume you cry on DME going home? I really do think there is something in the air that makes us all misty-eyed.

I can't imagine not crying during wishes no matter how many times I see it. Holiday Wishes will have me bawling I'm sure

GrammyJudy, you will definitely bawl during Holiday Wishes.

What the heck do you do with a nine pound lemon anyway?

Have a lot of cocktails? :lmao::lmao:

see them? you've been travelin with them for days!:rotfl2:

Very good, Mary Ellen.

that has to be the most picked on nose ever :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I think you are probably right.

so much fun!!

The boys were very cooperative.

Maybe she was trying to soften the goodbye blow :(

I think she most definitely was.

bummer on the noisy screechy child. but it looks like you enjoyed dinner despite!

It was a very good dinner and the kid did finally stop...and then leave!

Saying good bye is sad, but at least you had something to look forward to that evening!

Yes, and it helped that I booked the party that night as it made the pain a little less.

Andy and Des look cute in their matching red. My hubby has that same red shirt - I love the white edging on it and think its very flattering :cloud9:

They are very much like Mark and Alisha in coordinating their outfits.

I have a tummy ache just looking at all the sugar in that drink. It needs alcohol to "neutralize" the sweetness!

Yes, but no alcohol in the MK...well except at BOG (and I still don't like that idea).

I like going to Cosmic Rays--it is definitely a favorite fall back place. We try to find new places each time but we always know we'll find something good at Rays!

It's always a toss up with Cosmic Rays and Columbia for us.

WOW we have never seen Peter Pan with no line!

We've only seen it once...when it was the first ride we hit during morning Extra Magic Hours.

LOVE the Mickey container! I bet he looks cute with your Christmas decorations at home Kathy!

He did...I put Christmas kisses in him.

Your castle photos are just awesome. I love the light show - gorgeous!!!

Thank you very much. :goodvibes

You day in Epcot seems perfect. Not rushed... not like you had anywhere to be. I think that is why Epcot is one of my favorite parks.

I find Epcot to be very relaxed too; it is definitely our 2nd favorite park.

It is just a shame that Nikki and Todd had to leave . :sad2:

Yes it was...but I'm hoping they will be back there in December with us.

The pictures of Andy and Des are so cute. She looks so pretty in red!

She does...even with the red hair.

I love your castle pics! I am not sure why pictures of the castle always fill me with such joy, but they do and yours during the holiday Wishes certainly did the trick!

I think the castle just makes us forget our every day worries and enjoy our time there.

BTW, I really do want to try that Lafous brew... tell me it is a ton cheaper to get without the mug.

It was cheaper...but I don't remember by how much. $4 or $5 maybe?

Hi Kathy just checking in while at work !!!!

Hi, Rosie. I hope you are having a good day at work.

:Rosie, I am so glad you are okay; I hope there were no serious injuries in the accident you saw.

It did not appear that anyone was seriously hurt !! The car folks were all standing around the car!! I couldn't see in the bus but the car definately looked worse:sad:

I am the slowest driver during snopwy weather and I am sure I **** a lot of drivers off , BUT I want to get there in 1 piece and will not go fast, I think I would have less injury to me and the car at my speed:goodvibes:goodvibes

The dance parties are fun! :dance3:

Nice castle pictures.

Our December dates: Brooklynn, Bella, and I will be flying down on the early morning flight December 26th. Jill, John, and Sophie will come either the night of the 27th or the morning of the 28th, and Trent, Brandi, Jarvis, and maybe Drew will be coming around lunchtime on the 28th.

I'm glad it didn't appear anyone was seriously hurt.

I'm with you. I drive really, really slow in the snowy weather. It's gotten to the point that unless I absolutely have to, I just don't go out so I don't have to drive.

The dance parties are fun! :dance3:
