Wow, it sure doesn't take long to fall back behind around here! A little like hanging out on my own thread.............
When I left you, we were all hungry. The kids wanted to go to Gaston's Tavern and Mark and I were more hungry than that, so we went to Cosmic Rays.
Here is what the kids had:
I have heard some negative things said about the New Fantasyland, especially the way the Official opening was handled, so not a place I am that excited about visiting, but that cinnamon roll does look pretty good!!!
We shared the turkey sandwich:
Cosmic Ray's is always a good fallback option!!!
We finished up our meal and texted Andy and it was decided that we would meet at It's A Small World since Mark and Des wanted to take that slow boat to China. Really? Can't we just skip it this year? Well, since we can't, I will make you all suffer right along with me with some pictures that I took and some of Des'.
Sorry, don't have to suffer along with you.......especially when I can scroll quickly past the pictures!!!
There was no line for Peter Pan so we hopped over to ride that
NO line for Peter Pan??? I didn't know that was possible. I think I heard somewhere that PP had a line even when the park is closed............
Des got this awesome picture as we were walking into Tomorrowland
Great picture! Definitely need to add MVMCP to my To-Do list!!!!
Once the kids came back, we decided to go and find a spot for the castle show. It was packed already but we did find a great location where we knew that the rope would be moved once it started. And now I will just post pictures of the castle pictures and a few with the show for your viewing pleasure (we didn't get many with the show on it becasue of the tall guy in front of us--and this is a mixture of my pics and Des' pics and Andy's pics)
One of many awesome castle pictures! And I love the way the new projection show looks!
No, no dancing for us. My husband does not dance. Wait, let me correct that statement: my husband CANNOT I have threatened that he is taking dance lessons with his son before the wedding. The castle was even more beautiful than the pictures.
Wait a minute, who was that I saw in a picture dancing with Des in an earlier update???
For your viewing pleasure, I present you with Holiday Wishes (these are photos from all three of our cameras):
More amazing shots!!!
We have two very rude families behind us shoving and pushing closer and closer to us as if they wanted to get in front of us. Sorry guys...NOT happening. One of them pushed their kid into the tiny spot I had saved for Mark and I told her that spot was saved.
Amazing how rude people can be these days! Everyone seems to have that feeling they are entitled regardless of the fact you did what was necessary to be there ahead of them! I have seen that so many times where people show up at the last minute and just push their kids out in front like they are more deserving than those who have been waiting in order to have a special experience.
What the heck do you do with a nine pound lemon anyway?
Either one ginormous pie........or a regular sized one that reeeeealy makes you pucker!!!
that has to be the most picked on nose ever
Thanks, Linda; men just don't understand!
I assume you cry on DME going home? I really do think there is something in the air that makes us all misty-eyed.
I left you with us "securing" our spots on the curb. It was almost time for the parade to start, so Mark walked over to where we had saved seats on the curb (we were right near the Ice Cream shop. Mark arrived and said he'd rather stand and not sit on the curb since it is so hard for him to get up. Andy was going to stand too so he could take pictures. There had been a very nice family behind us, next to the "shovers and pushers". We asked the two young children if they would like to sit next to us so they could see better. Their faces just lit up like a Christmas tree and trust me there was some grumbling from the other people. Well, maybe next time you won't be so pushy and I would have offered your three kids the spot.
I have always found something about every Disney parade that makes it memorable and enjoyable, but this one looks like a really great parade! Have I said already how much I really need to add MVMCP to my To-Do list???
Great picture with the castle in the background!
We decided to walk to the hub and get a couple of pictures.
Mark's such a Dumbo..................uh, lover!!!
Loving me some Chip and Dale!!!
Cocoa and cookies in hand, we headed back to Main Street to find the boys. On the way I found a PP photographer and Des and I had not had a picture alone, so we stopped and had our picture taken.
Such a sweet picture!
It was the perfect ending to a magical and special time with our son and his girl.
Looks like you guys had a great time together! So easy to see why you wanted this trip to be reserved exclusively for special family time!!!
Right now, I am helping our youngest son compose a letter to the newspapers about the IOC'S (International Olympic Committee) decision to drop Wrestling in 2020. I truly do NOT understand how you can drop the world's oldest and Olympic's oldest sport. It just baffles me beyond anything I can even describe.
Thanks for letting me know about this since I hadn't heard it! This has to go down as one of the most ridiculous decisions in Olympic history!!!
