I suppose I should not do on line check in. Usually I travel with DH, but I now will be with 5 friends. I do want to be able to charge on my MB. Should I just tell my friends to show up individually at the front desk to take care of their own accounts?

Or, can I be the only one charging? It seems to me that's the way I've done it in the past, but it has been 2 years since I have done a gals week like this one.

What should I tell my friends about check in? I will arrive first.

On-line check-in will only accept one CC. You can stop at the front desk and they can set it up so that each person has their own CC linked for room charging. Some CMs are better at setting it up than others, so you would want to stop back at the front desk after some charges have been made to verify they are being split correctly.

Thank you. So, can those who do not want MB charging can just go to the room and use the MB as the key. We already have FPs and plans.

Yes, you can also set any wristband to not be used for charging. Back in the olden days, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, the KTTW card would say "Not valid for charging" on the front whenever that was requested.

For what it's worth, we've tried in the past to attach different credit cards to magic bands attached to people in our villa ..... 5 different ones. It was a complete nightmare. A couple of the charges didn't go to the correct MB's and instead went in mine (because the room was in my name). It took 3 months of back and forth with Disney after we got home to get everything straightened out. To be fair, this was in the earlier days of MB's, but it was so bad that we now refuse to attach a CC even if it is just DH and I. Ain't nobody got time for that!

It will most likely only be my sister who also wants charging, so maybe that's best.

We had good luck setting up multiple cards by going to the cast member at the check in desk in the lobby (at VGF). It has worked great the last two trips.

The ability to use multiple CCs for room charging used to only be available at the resorts with a convention center. This was most likely due to co-workers sharing a room while attending a convention.

Disney has since made that option available at all resorts, but there are some CMs that don't get it setup correctly.

My advice to you would be to go to the front desk on the night before check out and verify that all of the charges are correct.

We also have a horror story of the charges going to the wrong magic bands during a stay at BLT in a 2 bedroom.

We went down last June and we were able to set up our wristbands so my son and daughter-in-law went to theirs and ours went to our bands. There were no issues but not knowing how to do this ahead of time we had GS's help us with it at checkin..smjj

Just have them carry their CC and use it or pay cash for what ever they purchase. You don't have to use your magic band.

As Michael indicated, on-line check-in only allows one credit card. In addition to that, you need to establish PINs for everyone listed on the reservation, which is a pain. If you don't select a PIN for everyone, you can't complete the check-in process. They should offer an option to waive PIN selection.

Depending on the CC, you can possibly earn more rewards by room charging because it's typically categorized as Travel.

When I went down with DH last Nov. for his work conference I asked to have my charges put on my magic band so he wouldn't have to keep track of what was me & what was him on his expense report. They did it (supposedly) at check-in but at first they screwed it up. I went down to the front desk on the 2nd day to apply some gift cards to my account and the charges were all messed up (and I forget now what they did but it was WRONG). I spent a LONG time at the desk getting it fixed but they eventually did get it straightened out (this was at CSR). So my advice would be after the first day go down & check on the accounts and be sure they're charging things correctly - don't let it ride until the end!! Getting things reversed & reapplied is a mess with them!!

The simplest thing: don't enable room charging. Then, people can pay for what they intend to with their own cards as they go. Yes, it's ever so slightly less convenient than using your band, but not by enough to matter.

Can you do online check in now without placing a CC? I'm thinking I couldn't the last couple of time.

I'd do online checkin then go by the FD and have all bands but you're family set to none charging.

This. Do this. The other sounds like a nightmare.
