*6/22 Update: Our Intentions Were Good, But The Treats Were Better: One Month in Disney (4/21-5/21)

Your meal at 1900 Park Fare looks really good. I Like your idea of putting strawberries in the soup, if we go, I will try that. That muffin sounds delicious as well.
We were just there for the openings of the new Villains show and Little Mermaid. They were both enjoyable, so that's great, more stuff for your DH to do! I also have to close my eyes on MMRR, just when going over the waterfall. But Remy is worse and it depends on how I'm feeling how much I have to close my eyes, but I'm happy I can still ride it.
When does the single rider line come in on RoTR? We ended up riding it near the end of the day while there and only waited 30 minutes. But I don't buy LL for it as it's one we can take or leave, so don't ride often.
We watched Muppets 3D for the last time right before it closed, sad to see it go, but looking forward to new things!
Curious how the Muppets will fit into Rock n Roller Coaster though..lol We shall see!

We have never been to 1900 Park for breakfast and I don’t think that would be my DH’s choice either, but I get giving it a second chance. I think I remember going for dinner once when it was the evil step sisters so my niece could see them.
We had never been before the reopening. We actually had an ADR during May 2020 which obviously ended up canceled.
Eggs Benedict is my favorite breakfast food…. But I can understand why it doesn’t work well at a buffet. GF cafe used to have lobster eggs Benedict that I loved.
We've never tried Grand Floridian Cafe. May have to give that a try!
Breakfast is my DH’s favorite meal. We may need to try it. That muffin sounds wonderful!
It is wonderful!
I loved watching the Muppets as a kid, but I may be in the minority I wasn’t a fan of Muppets 3D. I totally get the motion sickness at HS. I hate Star Tours and I also need to close my eyes a lot on M & M Railway as well as Remy.
I hate Star Tours too! Haven't been on it in years. It's one of the only rides I get motion sick on (that and Forbidden Journey at Universal).
How do you find out about all these great snacks? Is it from reading other’s TRs? That pb&j croissant looks yummy too! Glad the second time around at 1900 was better than the first.
We watch a lot of YouTube videos and most of my Facebook feed is about Disney, lol! DH has already put 1900 on the list for our October trip, he liked it so much!

My family loved it in August last summer. I can't remember all we had, but my son, DIL, and GD had sushi and loved it. DH and I had rice or noodle bowls. We had desserts too, our server surprised DH and I with a matcha ice cream for our 53 wedding anniversary at no charge. Our server was excellent.
I would go and see for yourself.
I agree with that advice! It definitely could've been what we ordered that wasn't good.

Definitely add the strawberries to your soup and try the muffin!

That's the point where DH closes his eyes too. Glad to hear the shows are enjoyable! He lost Muppets 3D so at least he gained two more shows to see.
But Remy is worse and it depends on how I'm feeling how much I have to close my eyes, but I'm happy I can still ride it.
DH has ridden Remy a few times but found he needed to close his eyes so much it wasn't worth riding any more. I'm glad they have a single rider line now.

You come in to the big room with the storm troopers so you miss the transport vehicle part. I don't ride if often either.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Muppets overlay on the Rock n Roller Coaster!

4/28/25 Stranded at the Beach

After walking around Caribbean Beach for a bit, we decided to try a couple things for dinner at the Centertown Market. We ordered the Hot Cuban sandwich and Arroz Masposteao. After placing our order at the counter the CM handed us a pager but didn’t tell us if the food would be brought to us or if we needed to go get it when the pager sounded. His focus was primarily on joking around with another CM.

We sat at a table for quite a while before the pager went off and then DH walked around for a bit and finally found the pick up window for our food.

First, the Hot Cuban Sandwich: Pressed Cuban Sandwich stuffed with Slow-roasted Pork, Ham, Swiss, Pickles, and Mustard on a Sandwich Roll served with choice of Side

AD_4nXcnhTKYDhjJV0zEkfQPiP9Wy7VcXuYA6ePGdCsFWn-mtESAFSCe7rUMIMrcbGrQGa4U4q1PfG439N8c5cakQLPs-cv71BTEgDspMdXismcg_Dg1CxxfqfYh1OqyPjUXM13B3KIlgQ

There are actually two halves stacked on each other in this photo. We each ate one half. This was a very good Cuban sandwich. The bread was fresh, crispy on the edges and soft inside. There was a lot of ham and pork with the right amount of cheese, mustard, and pickles. We enjoyed this! The fries were standard Disney fries. This was another situation where I thought we could get a side salad instead of fries but wasn’t given that option, so fries it is!

Next, the Arroz Mamposteao: Crispy Pork Carnitas served with Spanish-style Rice and Beans, Pickled Onions, and Crispy Plantains.

AD_4nXcPXGKtyzVP2MyzHkvsmFyOo3xZDrbVYSnYZFN2a75_jsyKqt_hnNdQrF3amhWtnXMSxGQOSQFiP_9l1A-Zqtf6iCsv69L4Xz3otylOMOh6nJonPamVVg92jC767ZVj0cIXDp79lA

This wasn’t great. The “crispy pork carnitas” were extremely crispy. I would even say dried out and burnt. We also didn’t care for the plantains, they were very "plain"-tains. This was definitely a miss for us. Since the Cuban was very good but the arroz was bad, we gave Centertown Market a B-.

We looked at the desserts at the Centertown Market but since we were so close to the Riviera resort, we knew we needed to get dessert at Primo Piatto.

Behold one of our favorite cookies (arguably could be #1): The Riviera Cookie:

AD_4nXdnDrMJnBrCcIUnhGJKYG3pUt7u9qfXStPi0mdWA0xjZl56SOGrG7D5F9_ulrXB7lcKC19S-1RPeCSEioO6YRMbiV42zLJNcX83HbN04juhMFeWfarXMcAhJoCLr1F5pRx4q81z

This is served warm. It has dried cherries, pistachios, chocolate chips, oats and sea salt. The textures and flavors combine into one spectacular cookie! Worth a trip to the Riviera for sure!

After our fantastic dessert, we walked back to the Caribbean Beach resort to take the skyliner back to Hollywood Studios. As we approached the front of the line, the CM informed us that due to lightning in the area, the skyliner would be closing and no new guests could board. We asked how we could get back to Hollywood Studios, where our car was parked and he said to go to the bus stop. He directed us to a map so we could find the nearest bus stop. Unfortunately there were no bus stops listed on that map. It was starting to rain and we had no idea how we were going to get back to our car. A family from Britain saw us staring at the map and asked if we needed help. We explained we were trying to find the bus stop. They offered to show us the way and walked us to the nearest stop. We were very grateful for their help.

At the bus stop there were signs indicating when the next bus would arrive. Unfortunately, under Hollywood Studios and Epcot, the sign said “take the Skyliner”...hmmm…we were stuck! My mind was racing trying to figure out how we could get to Hollywood Studios. A bus pulled up from Disney Springs and I thought we could go there but then we’d have to take a bus to a resort and then another bus to Hollywood Studios. That seemed like a lot of extra travel, especially in the rain. I decided to chat in the MDE app to see how they could help us. It took quite a few back and forth texts before the CM understood our dilemma. Eventually they told us a bus would come to take us back to Hollywood Studios. We waited at least 45 minutes and finally a Hollywood Studios bus pulled up. It was jammed with people. The driver told us if we could fit and stand without going over the yellow line we could ride. We squeezed ourselves in and made the ride back to Hollywood Studios. Helpful tip: don’t take the skyliner somewhere if there are storms in the area, you may not make it back to your car for a very long time!

We finally made it back to our hotel room after quite the adventure. As we were getting ready for bed, we discussed the fact that there was a rocket launch at 10:30 pm. We were both very tired after a long day and weren’t sure we wanted to stay up to see the launch. DH said he might stay up. I told him I was going to sleep but to wake me up at 10:30 if he ended up staying up. Turns out I happened to wake up at 10:25 and DH was sound asleep. So I got up and took pictures of the launch again.

The next morning I showed DH the pictures and he said “you didn’t wake me???” My response was “I told you to wake me but you didn’t tell me to wake you. I thought you decided you were too tired and I just happened to wake up. I took pictures for you.” He just shook his head…hmm guess I missed the cues on that one, haha. He forgave me eventually.

Up next…Starting the day at the Animal Kingdom

4/29 On the Search for Some Baby Animals

We arrived at Animal Kingdom right around park open and headed to the Navi River Journey. There was a posted 10 minute wait. We boarded the boat within 7 minutes. One of our goals this trip was to see the new babies at Animal Kingdom so we headed to the Kilimanjaro Safari next. We waited 30 minutes to board.

We were very lucky to see the baby giraffe, Tucker.

We also spotted the baby elephant, Corra. She’s getting big!

After a successful safari, we headed to Satu'li Canteen for one of our new favorite breakfasts. While I was tempted to try something different, I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get the Tropical Pandoran Forest Fruits. DH ordered the same thing.

AD_4nXfs2a3VojQ9x1kTaj4nlzx7kj_zMRg48mo-kEaAor_ShllqpNumrkIiT-mFjsMcuI2Mxa_rFTxhVsh7PIObi-gWdTEVB3vVltsp0uZCgmf8yeDckN7sFDQlkc1ROL6ZV800hXuHfA

This is so delicious! The fruit is extremely fresh, the yogurt is nicely sweetened with honey, the blueberry compote elevates the yogurt flavor even further and the muesli with dried fruit adds great texture. This dish is extremely well prepared, which later in the trip DH discovered is not the case at all breakfast locations. Satu’li Canteen breakfast gets an A from us!

After our meal, I used the LLSP I purchased for Flight of Passage. I love that ride. If I were super rich I think I would have a FoP ride in my living room to enjoy each day, haha.

We headed to the Maharajah Jungle Trek in search of our next baby animal, Bakso the tiger. Unfortunately a Cast Member at the entrance informed us that he was not out yet. We walked through the trek anyhow and then headed to the Feathered Friends in Flight show. We were seated right near the audience member who held out a dollar.

So cool to see this up close! While we’ve seen this show every time we’ve come to Animal Kingdom and know most of the “surprises”, it’s still such a fun show!

We headed next to Expedition Everest so I could use the single rider line to ride. I actually wish more rides would offer single rider, as it allows me to ride without making DH have to wait a long time outside the ride.

We decided for lunch that we should try Restaurantosaurus before it closes. We ordered a Cobb Salad to share.

AD_4nXeJZo-Mhv8Y-SDtnpfIKsT9higYdKuzSzTQi8WKZOhrstW5hpeP57CAFxDRT_Ne9HIvF-Sv-yBUbHKJTcFEyjAhA2jdiO2XsBsItV09h9sEYNJlyLJnS_Rq_BB_Ikpm8GieG-Lv2A

For a quick service salad, this was quite delicious and more than enough for us to share. The chicken wasn’t dried out and there was tons of blue cheese and crumbled bacon. We were pleasantly surprised! We gave Restaurantosaurus a B+.

We made our way to the Tree of Life to see the Winged Encounters - The Kingdom Takes Flight show. The birds weren’t feeling it this day. They pretty much flew in and flew out but I was able to get a photo.

AD_4nXeDX-ElDaSLLrLTU5ePM10XiB_vrKZ-TgNXebxs032IPLvT_8ucrQmvGEHXfqkfOrJBQHi2UsLTkVDeMOOhA_Aj4ZDQCZ9t8O3f4de3nsnwtePoTKVnhVfoOM3p1BlbgA1tQ7fVTQ

We walked the Discovery Island Trails around the Tree of Life and checked out the flamingos.

We also saw the three young otters who recently have come “onstage”, Butternut, Biscuit, and Potato.

We walked the Gorilla Falls trail. We love seeing the Meerkats. This guy was doing a great job manning his post.

The Gorilla Falls trail wasn’t too crowded so we were actually able to get some good photos of the gorillas.

The anticipated crowd level on Touring Plans for this day was a 4 but it ended up being a 3. It was really nice to navigate Animal Kingdom without the crowds.

Up next..continuing our cookie stroll with another new cookie before heading to Epcot for dinner.

We loved the Cobb Salad in early March. It was a great salad, my sister and I shared it along with a kids chicken strip meal! Yum!
You could have always took a Lyft from CBR, they come right to all the CBR building parking lots now, super quick and easy!

I was actually contemplating taking a Lyft but wasn't sure where to meet them for pick up. Good to know in case there's a next time!

I love the Skyliner but always afraid to get stuck on it during a storm. Never thought about not being able to get back to car. 🤪
Lyft would’ve been my first thought as well since we avoid the busses like the plague. ( especially DH)
I wouldn’t have woken my DH for the launch either! Haha

DH hates the busses too. If I knew I could order Lyft to the parking lot I definitely would've done that!
I wouldn’t have woken my DH for the launch either! Haha
You get me! Haha.

Wow what a great morning at AK! I love all the babies. We didn’t make it to AK in April.
The Cobb salad looks good. I love the names of the otters!! FoP makes me so nauseous. I haven’t been on in a couple of years. That is definitely a ride I close my eyes on for most of it. We love EE it’s my DH’s favorite.

4/29 Finishing our AK Day and Then Heading to Our Plan B Dinner

Since we weren’t really on a strict schedule, we decided to take the Wildlife Express train down to Rafiki’s Planet Watch to pet some goats.

AD_4nXeAJKyH1gNK3ecpqJ-FOZNQccT5Bxbb543Sxt6RNU2Ysn87dmhsCYiDYJxFtxAjf6LgzwPdvSPPWAhMK1SeK0OUq-j0o9ubPr6sgU-Mk4jXmbFGCD5aLbFpEUeyepkcHup1FkUN

As we arrived in the Conservation Station, I was reminded of how much we take for granted as repeat visitors to WDW. There’s something to be said for knowing the parks inside and out. Our train pulled into the station and an elderly couple next to us looked around confused and were overheard saying “This isn’t the shuttle to the parking lot?” The kind CM explained that it was not and offered to let them stay onboard for the return trip.

The goats were out and about so we enjoyed patting them.

AD_4nXdljnhQ0yIBhDPJboxuUmYs0mBbsJR1hPFxmBycLO8zPhKRcBiOIWsycvPRY9OmROuUNIInYndoDQIDvbk4keuyZ2DRRwGy2jlmI_NL0fDQRUPoChrNrJcWPKBSDXGxCtIIOp08

We then headed back on the parking lot tram, uh I mean Wildlife Express.

We popped into Zuri’s Sweet Shop to try another cookie on our cookie tour. We opted for the Apple Pie Cookie.

AD_4nXcNEE_Vzvsb0ZA2lqtBMC2uwj_Gfil3JHKwy1vRDZYmr3gNXrlC6ba-sFeeib3807YWRdWJDRoyh7f39PhffBinGt0FQGTpzSOSXBUnCOwCVIL2bRLGQFyX48N7L751Y6n9eCtT

We thought this was quite good! It had a very nice apple and cinnamon flavor. It wasn’t something though that we would rush to get again. We gave it a B.

We stopped by the Maharajah Jungle Trek to see if Bakso had made an appearance but the cast member at the entrance said he was still not out. We decided to watch the Finding Nemo show. We always enjoy the music and puppetry. For some reason though, the performers didn’t seem as engaged as when we saw it in December.

On our way, I stopped to get this beautiful photo of Expedition Everest.

AD_4nXfE-F9tTe-mmu7lceWSaWpWblyzedjcioioWHyRVevkoQ5KQ7u2H8ocQyfaLxV9w5K1l1Li3_klvOigY-Lt50jahk1MWTBjgQf04JS5Likpz5IE-FD-kRx0e1oOxJPPo9ZNLwQZ2w

Our original plan for dinner was to head over to El Mercado at Coronado Springs to get the large cinnamon pretzel again. We loved the huge cinnamon pretzel with dipping sauces on our December trip. We were actually hoping to get a “half and half”, half cinnamon pretzel and half pepperoni pizza, as we had seen Kristen from WrightDownMainStreet do in a YouTube video. Sadly as I was doing a last minute menu check before our trip I discovered the large pretzel was no longer on the menu. I confirmed on the Coronado Springs Resort Thread that it had been removed by mid-March. We’re really hoping they bring it back some time. Since we had our heart set on a pizza-type dinner, I was able to snag a last minute Via Napoli reservation just a week before our trip.

So, we headed over to Epcot and rode Spaceship Earth and Journey Into Imagination before heading to Italy for our dinner. Both attractions were walk-ons.

At Via Napoli, we checked in and requested to be seated in the back room, which is not nearly as loud as the main dining room. After we checked in, the lobby area was super crowded with people waiting to be seated. There were a bunch of cast members standing around behind the host desk in the foyer. All of a sudden a manager came out and started chastising the employees, telling them to get people seated. Next thing we know, every party got seated instantly and thankfully were seated in the back room. It was so strange to see a manager dressing down his staff but they were actually just standing around talking, doing nothing.

We ordered a large pizza, one half Quattro Formaggi, one half Meat Lovers.

AD_4nXd4XlpncD3r_RnnfYiWYlujcRWKbsvCa9ysRbM9K140xi4rKULwjifB_3Sn5iTCZG4B6LQ0TrOE2XcxLsnSTQ85ZJZoduw_lnnnTAKhyqf2hZyJOImLFBwwSHQ-G4iBaLlCGAKcGQ

We really enjoy the pizza at Via Napoli. It was a delicious, yet filling meal. We had plans for dessert but had to postpone them to a future day, since we were very full!

After our dinner, we walked around World Showcase. We saw that The Hooligans were performing in the America Gardens Theatre and there were plenty of open seats, so we stopped to watch and listen. They are an Orlando cover band who play British rock from the 60s to the 90s.

They were excellent! We really enjoyed their show.

We had another great day!

Aww that poor couple! Hopefully you’ll eventually get a Bakso sighting. We love the pizza at Via Napoli one our favorites!! Have you ever had Frank Pepe’s pizza? It is very much like VN. What a great pic of EE!

Aww that poor couple!
I know! At first I thought they were joking around but from their reaction to the CM, there were not joking.
Hopefully you’ll eventually get a Bakso sighting.
You'll have to wait and see!

Where is Frank Pepe's? Florida or up here?
What a great pic of EE!
I didn't realize how well it came out until I was going through my photos to write this post!

The closest Frank Pepe’s to us is in Warwick RI. Worth a trip. Our DS lives near there and we usually take him there for dinner/ lunch if we’re coming for a visit.

We will check that out! We haven't found a place we love for pizza near us. This past week we went to North Conway and tried the Flatbread Company who just opened up in a new location (next to Delaney's if you're familiar with the area). It was great!

Yes! We’ve been to Delaney’s. Haven’t been to NC in a couple of years. Used to bring the boys every year to Storyland and Santa’s Village ( we went less and less when we started going to Disney of course). But we’ll check out the pizza place when we make it back.

We have great memories of taking our boys to Storyland and Santa's Village every summer. We used to camp right next door to Storyland at Green Meadow campground. Delaney's is always one of our go to restaurants but we decided to try something different this time. We're glad we did! We only went to Disney twice with our boys before they were adults, once when they were in elementary school and once in middle school. Sports, school, and jobs always interfered after that.

4/27/25 This is How the Cookie Crumbles
As I was planning this trip, I initially thought we would play our schedule by ear. Then, I realized that since we needed park reservations, we really needed to select our parks ahead of time. I consulted Touring Plans for guidance on which days would be best based on crowd levels. I was surprised to see that Magic Kingdom’s crowd level was predicted to be a “4” on this particular Sunday, just a week after Easter. Being an offsite guest, we weren’t eligible for early entry but we made sure to be through the entrance in time for regular entry. We lined up over by Liberty Square and made our way to the Haunted Mansion. Surprisingly it didn’t open right at 9:00 but by 9:05 we were traveling through the line and on the ride within 5 minutes of that.

We next headed to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, with a posted wait time of 25 minutes. We were on within 18 minutes. So far so good!

We walked over to Pirates which had a 10 minute posted wait. We stood in line for 8 minutes and realized we hadn’t moved at all. Suddenly we noticed people walking back through the line. I checked MDE and sure enough it was down. We decided to leave the line and try another time. I don’t know what happened but for the rest of the day every time I checked MDE it was listed as “temporarily closed”. We walked over to It’s a Small World which had a 15 minute wait. Fortunately for us, when we got to the point where those with LLs tap a second time, there was no one in the Lightning Lane so the CM pulled us out of the regular line and we were on in 9 minutes!

At this point, it was time for a mid-morning snack so we headed to Friar’s Nook and purchased the Apple Cider Doughnuts.

AD_4nXceLaOJyAXe0vc9SHM8jpx8Q_0axzvtReKsL_GUy0OFAq_l1wMU-XjA-QIe-LPDsqdxSmo6WicdG7MpWm7i0NrQ-pW173swILA85isa52lhWIEUwGApkR5NzocZQ59nSx7nINXTnw

I was expecting these to have a weird green sugar or sauce on them like I had seen in the promo photos. But, I guess Disney realized it was more appetizing like this.

These were very good. They were very fresh and hot with a wonderful cinnamon sugar topping. The insides had chunks of real apple and the caramel sauce finished them off nicely! It was a simple but tasty treat, B+.

After our snack we got in line for Under the Sea. It had a 10 minute posted wait but the line was snaked around through all kinds of areas I’ve never seen before. It took us 20 minutes to board. Sadly this ride is badly in need of some refurbishment. We noticed quite a few animatronics not working. Even poor Ariel, who was supposed to be dancing in the “under the sea” scene, was just staring out with her arms in the air frozen in space. We really enjoy this ride and it’s sad to see it not functioning well.

We made our way over to Enchanted Tales with Belle, as it’s something we’ve never experienced. Recently a YouTuber had mentioned that this is a great show even for adults so we decided to see what it was all about. It was very cool to see the mirror change into a doorway but beyond that, it was not enjoyable for two adults without kids with them. It was kinda chaotic with kids that were chosen to play roles crying and going back to their parents and CMs talking over the pre-recorded narration. Someday if we have grandkids we may go with them but probably not before then. We enjoy the Frozen and Beauty & the Beast sing-a-longs but this was not that at all.

We walked to Tomorrowland and watched the Carousel of Progress. As the theater was attempting to rotate to the final scene, it abruptly stopped. So, we ended up seeing the 1940’s section twice. We’re not sure what happened but it was a nice air-conditioned break so we didn’t mind.

We were feeling hungry for lunch and decided to walk over to the Grand Floridian to get something from Gasparilla Island Grill. I attempted to place a mobile order but in the app it looked like my only choices for sides were chips or fries. I know in the past I’ve ordered mac n cheese as a side and I thought I had seen you could get a side salad. We were still trying to be healthy so as much as I wanted that delicious mac n cheese, we planned on getting the turkey sandwich with a side salad. I decided to place my order in person and ordered the turkey sandwich from a CM. I asked if I could get a side salad and she looked at me like that was the craziest question she ever heard and then said, “No, only chips or fries.” So, we shared a turkey sandwich with a side of house made chips: House-roasted Turkey, Brie, Apples, Herbed Aïoli, and Arugula on House-made Ciabatta

This was a very tasty sandwich with fresh roasted turkey, not deli meat. The brie and apples added to the flavor and the ciabatta bread was nice and fresh. We gave our lunch at Gasparilla’s a B+. It is always consistently good.

At this point we decided that we owed it to the DisBoards to do our own resort cookie stroll, trying a specialty cookie in each place we stopped. So, we bought the Signature Cookie: Chocolate Chip Cookie with Candied Hazelnuts

This was a terrible cookie. It was really stale, dry and flavorless. We gave it a C-. Gasparilla really needs some work on their signature cookie. They may want to get some pointers from the Riviera (more on that later on in the trip).

Thankfully, we also purchased the Mickey Choux.

This was very good! The choux was perfectly baked with a nice chocolate coating on the base and it was filled with a creamy chocolate mousse. It was very small for sharing but it was delicious. We gave it an A-.

After lunch, we walked back to the Magic Kingdom. We rode the People Mover with a posted 10 minute wait, we waited 9. I checked the Lines App for the Tron wait time and it said "ride now", predicting a 38 minute wait. MDE was showing 55 so I decided to give it a try. This time the Lines App was correct and I waited exactly 38 minutes. Such a fun ride but so short I find it hard to wait in too much of a line to ride it.

We then rode the train from Storybook station to the Main Street station.

One of DH’s snack priorities was to get the Mickey Chocolate Chip Cookie again. We tried it for the first time on our last trip and were surprised at how delicious it was. The one we got last time though was just slightly stale. We thought perhaps that was because we bought it at Big Top Treats and maybe there wasn’t as much turn over of inventory there. This time we assumed if we purchased it at the Main Street Confectionery that it would be more fresh. Unfortunately they didn’t seem to be selling the regular Mickey Chocolate Chip cookie. They did have a Snickers version however so we purchased that instead.

This cookie was also terrible. It was extremely stale and dry. The only thing that saved it was the chocolate dip on the ears. It was a very bad cookie day. So much for our “cookies will be fresher at Main St. Confectionery” theory. Very disappointing. We still would like to know where to find a fresh chocolate chip Mickey cookie, if anyone has any insights.

After our cookie disappointment we headed to the Country Bears to cheer ourselves up. We both were very apprehensive about the changes being made to the Country Bears. However when we saw the new version in December we were pleasantly surprised. We love the updated show and feel they did an excellent job incorporating the Disney songs into the show. We especially love the “Remember Me” part, it keeps the spirit of the original without the blood.

Having accomplished even more than we expected (the actual observed crowd level ended up being a 2), we made our way to our anticipated dinner location, the Wailulu Bar & Grill. Even though we had plenty of steps, it was such a beautiful day we opted to walk from the Magic Kingdom to the Grand Floridian and on to the Polynesian. It wasn’t nearly as long a walk as we thought it would be. It was just about a mile and a quarter to the Wailulu Bar & Grill.

We were very disappointed with baked items offered in the parks and food courts as everything we tried was dry and somewhat stale…we did enjoy baked fresh items at Sprinkles and Summer House cookie bar at Disney Springs. Also the Wookie Cookie at HS was good.
