DD and I are taking an unplanned trip to MD. My mom is sick and I just have this feeling this may be one of the last times I see her. I just booked a flight for tomorrow on AirTran going thru Atlanta and going into D.C. We wanted to fly direct to Balto on Southwest or Continental but the airfare was over $1500 for the 2 of us!:scared1:That's as much as our cruise costs for 2!!! DD has off from school on Mon so we fly back then. This has been one heck of a year. I lost a good friend and neighbor in Feb, then my MIL. Say a few prayers for my mom, ok?:grouphug:

:grouphug: You and your family are in my thoughts!

Single Mom here!! Traveling with DS 14 yr old. If room go to the Palo DIS Brunch with us.

Terrific! Can you please tell me what day it is? when I booked Palo online there were no brunch reservations so I am assuming that it was full -- I will book onboard.

Ok, My friends are about to run out of hope getting the deal alot of us did to get the gyt Cat 12 deal!! Do you all think it is gone now that it is closer to sail date?

To answer, Yes the Cat 12 special has been yanked -- My TA told me that they alone had booked over 100 cabins in this category. We got "the last one" according to him because they told me that, then my colleague called about 5 minutes later and was told the same thing. I think (know!) that we got a great deal, as I am sure you all did :mickeyjum

Frankly I didn't think that we'd ever sail Dis again, not that I don't like it but because of the $$ (see, single mom status). There are so many amazing deals out there right now - NCL called me one week before Spring Break about a 5 nighter on the Pearl for $179 and I nearly dropped off my chair; unfortunately we had family plans to go up north and couldn't take advantage. But other lines (except Royal) are staring to drop summer rates which never happens. Times are tough but I am SO EXCITED to be going on this trip!

Thanks for setting up the FE-I got the list and plan to start organizing my goody bags this week-end.

Steph, Are you the energizer bunny? First all the magnets, now the website. We are very lucky to have you on this cruise.

Is the Cozumel pier repaired? we stopped there in the summer on the Enchantment and had to tender, but maybe that is just RC.

My son is now not sure he wants to parasail. He has gone once with my nephew, but never alone. He watched a show yesterday showing the dangers of sting rays and jelly fish and has decided he does not want to land in the water by himself. I'll wait a few weeks to cancel in case he rethinks it.

For anyone who has done the dolphin swim in Cozumel-how long does it take? We booked through DCL and they showed it starting at 12 and the end time 4--that can't be right, can it?

I have not even considered packing. I wanted to lose a few pounds before I decide what to take, but haven't put any effort into it, so I better get started.

Have a great week-end everyone

On the FE list, my son Blake and his girlfriend Katie are 20 and 21, in case anyone is keeping track of who might be in the college age group. It looks like 3 others on the list. That is a hard age on the Disney cruise. Blake is not crazy about the Disney themed shows, plus since they rarely change , he has seen them several times. Katie has never been on the Magic, so he will go to them with her. They may skip Dreams, since they saw it in Dec on the Wonder. Having the movies is a good option late evening. I wish disney had more things for the family besides the show at night. We have found the choices slim.

For the parasail you can request to not be dipped in the water and just stay in the air the whole time - that is what we (myself & DS) are doing in Key West on the Fury.

I booked the Dolphin Excursion through Shoretrips and it said 1 hr.

Which TA did you use?

Contact "Brookly" to see if there is still availibility for our group brunch, being the wonderful person that she is Stephanie organized this for all of us. :cheer2:

We won't know what day it is till about 35 days out. I put the request in for the private room at about the 75 day mark. DCL called and said she will process everything around day 30-35.

Now that we will be living on the east coast and airfare as good as it is we will be keeping our eye out for those CAT 12 specials in the future! :thumbsup2

Yes I have been called that before! :rotfl: The crazy thing is I do it all without any caffine! Some days I wish I still drank caffine but I stopped when I got pregnant with Brooklyn. It was so hard to stop I vowed to never start again!

Too funny! I have been searching You Tube videos and considering not doing Sting Ray city. I know they say it is "safe" but all it takes is one time. Those can still sting they just happen to be "tame" bc they have been arond people so much. It has happened though time and time again where what you thought was a tame animal has striked. Ugh! Such decisions! If I knew there was NO chance they could sting I might consider it but now I am rethinking our plans!

That is why I don't book anything through DCL anymore. It wastes so much time! I feel like I am on a 2nd grade field trip. It should not take 4 hours but probably close to it for something that should take 1 hour. They probably booked out the place for a couple of swim times and will be filling up a few large buses to get there. All the buses probably leave at the same time and back at the same time.

Amen to that! Time to lose a few pounds before I want to pack.

pirate: Anyone else as happy as me that it's Friday???? pirate:

I am so happy it is Friday! The only thing I have to do this am is the gym! Then it will be all relaxing! I made about 20 magnets yesterday...all cut out and ready to go. I probably only have about 40 more to do!!!! LOL :rotfl:

We were planning on going to the Hannah Montana movie this AM but we are waiting till later or tomorrow to go with friends! :thumbsup2

Then tomorrow we will be going to an Easter Egg Hunt that our city puts on each year! We thought about going to DL on Easter but we don't want to leave Grandma alone. The girls and I will be going to DL a few days next week since we will still be on spring break! Boy I am going to miss DL when we move to VA!!!!!

Stephanie,
I just looked at your website from the tranatlantic cruise. AMAZING!

Posting pics is a good idea, then you will recognize the other people from the dis. I know not everyone is comfortable with that, or names on doors, but since my kods are older, I am not as concerned.

Wow did you just get it yesterday??

Wow did you just get it yesterday??

No, we booked two weeks ago, on a whim. I saw an offer on a website and called because certainly that price couldn't be right. Booked it right then & there which is very NOT like me and that was it! I have been searching on the CC boards for fellow travelers not knowing that all of you Dis-folks were over here
So happy to have found you!!!

DD had to go to school today while I am off. Yahoo!

Hopefully after 10 postings now I am "official" enough to send a PM. Phew, what a relief (note sarcasm).

DD told me again last night that she was not interested in meeting other kids her age as she hated having to meet someone then have to say goodbye at the end of a cruise. How sad for her. (To be fair, in her short life she has been through a divorce and then the loss of her stepfather-to-be (he left me/us on my wedding day ) AND her stepmother (cancer). She is cautious as a result.) I'm sure she will come around and come out of her shell. If not, I'll just lock her in the stateroom. (Just kidding, DCF, really.)
