6/13/2009 Western on Magic- Our Cruise Chat Continues!

Hi all.
Just got caught up. We had a tragic loss on Tuesday. My BIL passed away very unexpectedly. He was only 42, would have been 43 in 2wks. Tonight has been the first night getting back on the DIS boards.

Hope everyone is well.

Can't wait to leave & get away from 'real' life for awhile!

So sorry for your loss, hope all is getting better for you:grouphug:

Sorry guys had dance competition all weekend and just got in ... I have to go back a few pages and catch up.

Our numbers are 2011 and 2021 ... my girls are begging me to pack, so I guess I'll be up for the next few hours planning our days and nights ... I can't wait:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:::

THanks Maureen!!

Oh how sad. I'm sorry for your loss.

I am feeling unhappy about my FE gifts, but since I am not crafty, I had to go with something easy-so sorry in advance if they don't measure up

Well Rob has 4 days left of school and then he has Cub Scout Day Camp next week. Then it is off to Orlando. :cool1:

I think we have all of our FE gifts in order. We will be putting them together on the ship. And we have our DIS meet gift together.

So now it is time to make our lists and start packing next weekend. :yay:

Jordan has 5.5 then graduation and she's done.:thumbsup2

Oh my goodness, where did the time go??

Morgan's team won round #2 of the softball tournament (23 to 6!!!) last night, so they are on to semi-finals. The girls played GREAT despite the terrible heat (especially in polyester baseball pants and long socks!!)

Only 3 days of school left ... but Alegbra I finals today & tomorrow :scared1: I was SO nervous for her today I actually got upset making my coffee and spilled espresso all over my counter... ARGH.... She's only ever gotten A's on her report card (knock on wood) but decided to slack off after spring break so now it's crunch time. I really don't want to have a "I hope you learned your lesson" discussion becuase, frankly, I will be more upset than her. Kids. You can't live with 'em  and you can't imagine life without em

Have a great Monday everyone!

I was reading through the documents from Disney and it says you can call DCL and charge your pre-paid gratuitites up to 3 days prior to the start of your vacation. Is anyone doing this? We usually just go about mid-week to the guest service desk to pre-pay so to avoid the crowd at the end of the week. Just curious if anyone has done this so it would be one less thing to worry about doing while on the ship?????

That's funny that you bring this up because I was just thinking this on the drive to work this morning... to me it'd be like "reducing" some of the scare that comes when you get your final bill
But then I wondered what if service was terrible and I've basically already tipped the recommended amounts? (if service is great, you can always lay on some extra cash, but you can't rescind the tips once you've auto-paid them...) So I am torn.
Anyone else?

I just put money in an envelope for tips for this trip- I prepaid them last time. It was easy- and at least you pretty much knew how the servers were going to be.:thumbsup2

Ok, so speaking of the internet, I just got an email from my Travel Agency...

seems the Owner is on the Western this week and then again on our sailing (because you need a week on dry land) AND THEN AGAIN...

next year's April 10 and September 18, Transatlantic Sailings from our Category 1 Stateroom, the Walt Disney Suite. We'll also be hosting next year's June 5, Repositioning and June 12, Inaugural Baltic Sailings from our Category 3, One Bedroom Suite. Join the party in our suites.

Time for some serious self-affirmation here. I am ok with my little Cat 11. I am ok with my little Cat 11..... I will not be jealous of my lucky duck A. I will not be jealous...

ARGHH!!!!! Now I know jealousy is a little green monster but wah, wah, wah. I want to do not one but 2 TAs in the Walt Suite!!!!! Wah, wah, wah, she whines....

Hi Donna,
Is your TA, Chuck from A**Seasons Travel? If so, he is ours also. We will be on the June 5 Repositioning and the June 12th Inaugural Baltic cruises too. If it is Chuck then I can't wait to party with him on these cruises.

Pre-paying tips.... I saw somewhere that if you pre-pay your tips on the Disney Visa; you can get 6 months same as cash.

I will probably do this just so I don't forget.

One person was sick the last night & had hubby go to guest services ~ she gave them the wrong envelopes (empty) & threw away the cash envelopes.

Ok ~ so I need to decide if I want to ship my FE gift & finish them on board or finish them & just bring another suitcase (we are allowed 2 per person & it would be a small one). Another suitcase would leave me room for extras gifts to bring home.

Any suggestions?!?!
