5th Annual Christmas Shopping Thread

Thank you for the ideas! I found a purple microwaveable heating pad on Etsy and ordered that. It comes with an eye pack too. I know she has sinus trouble so hopefully she will like it.

Need some gift ideas for my 13 yr. old nephew. He loves history and is strong in his Christian faith. I have gotten gift certificates for him over the last couple of years and would love to get him some different Christmas gifts. Does anyone have any suggestions?

For History we like the 'What in the World' cds, we use these for our History Curriculum as a supplement~if he likes History at all, he will reeeeaaaaaaallly enjoy these..http://www.answersingenesis.org/store/product/history-revealed-what-world-volumes-1-3/?sku=90-7-472

I decided to throw a Christmas party for my friends this year, yay! :cool1: I am thinking we will play a few Minute to Win It style games, and that I could have a few small prizes. We are teenager girls, and I would want them to be no more than $5 each. Any ideas?

Also, I am working on a baking gift basket for one of my friends. I just bought a mini cupcake/muffin tray, and I am thinking of adding a cupcake recipe book, some cupcake paper cups, dish towels (since she doesn't have any...still blows my minds), and maybe some sprinkles and some icing bags. Anyone know where I can find some of these things at low prices? I don't want to spend a crap ton of money on this.

Michaels should have the cupcake paper cups, sprinkles, icing bags and maybe the recipe book. If you use a 40% coupon and buy them one at a time, you should be able to get them for a good price. :)

Maybe a cool "teen" Bible?

What about some of the C.S Lewis books?

oh yeah...that's a great suggestion! We love C.S. Lewis, I think he would enjoy that too! Does he like Legos? There is a new set that is called the Architect Legos and they have buildings that are landmarks for different states or countries:Big Ben, Tower Bridge, Seattle Space Needle, etc....

I hadn't thought of that. Which is silly, because I probably go to Michaels at least once a week!

Not a Christmas gift, but a nice sale nonetheless:

My 9 year old needs a new set of snow boots this winter, and I simply cannot see a time in the next few days when I'll be able to get her some.

So I just went online to Payless, Amazon, and LandsEnd.

The snow boots I got her at Landsend were originally $49.99, marked won to $34.30. I went online and found a coupon (though I didn't actually apply it, maybe it's automatic???) and it bumped the whold order down to a total of $25.12 including the free shipping.

Here are the boots: http://www.landsend.com/pp/girls-sno...3088_1187.html

And the code was LovewinterPIN 1012.

I got her the waveblue to match her coat.

Thanks! I bought ds a pair of gloves and snow boots and 3 shirts for me for only $100 shipped! That was a great code.

What's everyone getting their husbands? And what about stocking stuffers? Thanks

Thanks for the reply! He has read the Chronicles of Narnia but I am not sure about his other books. I haven't seen the Architect Legos and think he would really like it!

Any ideas for elderly women? My Aunt is in her late 90s. She spends time with her sister and eats lunch out with friends. No hobbies at this point.

I've done gift cards to her favorite restaurants, store, magazine subscriptions, blankets, and last year I gave her a soft hoodie. I was thinking of getting her some nice soap and body powder at Crabtree and Evelyn (never bought anything there for myself so I don't know much about the store).

Does that sound like a good idea or does anyone have more suggestions?

Hello Everyone. Sorry haven't been on lately. Trying to catch up on posts. My FIL suddenly passed 2 weeks ago and we've been crazy busy with everything. Well my DD4 (who is speech delayed) is finally telling me what she wants Santa to bring her. She wants Doc McStuffins Toys so I guess I will be picking up some of that. BJ's had a cute set with a doll, not sure price. I am going to look at Target and Toys R Us to see what I like better.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Saying a prayer for your family today:flower3:

I got my husband boxers and undershirts, a pair of sunglasses, the Avengers DVD and a Captain America t-shirt with a pair of jeans. His big gift will be from Acamdemy and it will do with "hunting". Maybe a new scope for his rifle.;)

I am making progress! I hope to get everything done Thanksgiving weekend.

Can anyone suggest a good flashlight for a toddler? I'd really prefer one with an auto-off feature if possible.
