$50 Itunes card for $35 Walmart Saturday 11/6

Our Wal-Mart had same problem and was very busy! They were very good about the problem....told us to take the cards and come back later today when problem was fixed and then we could purchase them at discout. The cards are worthless unless activated. Wal-Mart does not even pay Apple for the cards until they are activated. So we walked out with 4 cards (2 for me and 2 for hubby) and we will run back later to pay for them and get them activated.

Yeah, got my cards. I went back to the site to see if the electronics sale was only for limited hours, say like 8-1, but it doesn't even have the sale there any more. Does anyone know if it is limited hours, or all day until stock is gone?

BTW, the cashier said the problem has to do with daylight savings time, which I don't understand because that's not till tonight. I could see if maybe they had set the sale for 8 am Pacific, Mountain, or Central time--that would certainly impact those of us in the Eastern zone. Oh, well, it's all good now. Hope everyone else is successful.

I had the same problem but they gave us rainchecks. I called to see if they had sorted it out yet and they said they are waiting to hear back from corporate. I hope they figure it out soon.

We got to Walmart at 8am and there was a long line for the tvs. I asked if I had to wait in line to get the iTunes gift cards and they said no. They gave them to me and I was able to check out in front, no problem. They said they had plenty of them, too.
Check them quickly, or at least save your receipt.

When I was with the Electronics superviser, I overhead all their conversation trying to fix the problem. Someone told her that people in the front of the store were buying cards without problems, and she said that they weren't. She said those cards wouldn't be activated. She and the Electronics employee commented to one another that those cards were going to come back, and it was going to be a problem for them.

True or false? I don't know. I'm just telling you what I overheard.

Our wal-mart is still not working. My parents went to one in Tennessee and did not have a problem. My understanding is that all of them in Central Florida are still not working properly.

I just got back from my Walmart (southern NH) and there weren't any problems at all. I was able to get 4 gift cards and 2 laptops.

Got in got 2 iTunes cards and no problems. There were TONS of them available. I might go back when I run the rest of the errands today and 2 more. The frist two I got mostly for work I manage a bar and I am in charge of loading the iPod with music, not all of which is stuff I listen to. So if I got a couple more then I could get me (and the kids) music for us too.

Got mine. Got stuck in the issues this morning. My walmart did not give rainchecks or take a list. Just said, try later. DH was not happy. We actually left 4 near the front (behind other non-itunes gift cards) but when we went back someone had re-stocked the cards (could tell because there were many more gift cards). Fortunately, it was 10:30 and were able to get them back in electronics. Actually got 6 so I have huge jump on Christmas shopping.

Just got back. We got the cards in electronics but when we went to the checkout up front, they rang up $50. The cashier said, "I thought they fixed these.". Turned out there were two different $50 iTunes cards, and they had different SKU's. They had the correct one on a gift card rack up front, and then we checked out with no problem.

I posted on the other thread too, but our Walmart had the same problem, what they did was the manager gave us all in line a $15 gift card so we were able to use that for the Itunes cards and pay only $35 out of pocket. It took a while I was there for an hour getting the cards but definitely worth it. I did hear the problem was company wide.

Same issue here. They took our name and phone number and put three cards aside for us. They said they will call us by 4pm. Fingers crossed.

Like a pp, at first they said just come back later, but we said "no way". Then they agreed to put them aside and call us when the issue was resolved.

Our Wal Mart told me to just take the two gift cards (without paying) and come back sometime this weekend to activate and pay for them. I don't know why they would bother with rainchecks -- they aren't any good without activation and the price will only be honored this weekend.

My store said the rainchecks are valid anytime. I specifically asked if I had to come back later today or tomorrow (because I know I wouldn't be able to), and she told me they would honor the raincheck anytime.

My mom was there this morning and got 2 tv's and 2 laptops and when she went to get 2 itunes GC's she said that she had the same issue and they were not ringing up the $35. They said that she would have to come back.

I picked up 2 around noon today. They had tons of them. At checkout they rang up fine, but the cashier made a comment that they hadn't been working earlier in the day. I refrained from saying "Yeah, I know - I heard about it on the DIS."

:disrocks:

Based on the comments here, my DH decided to give it a shot. He went to our Walmart at 9:55 and they still had plenty. They also still had some of the laptops and computers.

Walked into electronics at 12:45, asked for one card at the register and it rang up without a problem. The cashier did seem surprised I only wanted one though, from his comments it seemed 5 or 6 at a time was more common.

When does this offer expire? A friend of mine was interested, but had to work this morning.

Tomorrow. It is a "two-day" sales, while supplies last of course.

got to wal-mart about 11:30pm CT. still had plenty of the iTunes cards, and people were still buying compaq laptops for $288.

just back from WalMart - I bought 4 .... plenty of them set out. DH thinks he might run in and pick some up for employee gifts.
