$50 Itunes card for $35 Walmart Saturday 11/6

I got 3 today but I still have my raincheck for 2 :rolleyes1

I bought 1 at Walmart today and when I brought it home and tried to redeem it on itunes, I got an error message that the code was invalid. I called Walmart and they said to bring it in tomorrow. I hope they are able to straighten this out. Has anyone had this problem? I thought that the the problem that they had yesterday morning was resolved.:sad2:

Well that's not good! I was planning on using the ones I bought as Christmas gifts. It would be pretty crummy if people got an error message when they went to use them.

Maybe I'll have to make the ultimate sacrifice and keep one for myself so I can test out the ones I bought. ;)

I'll update everyone tomorrow with what happens at Walmart. I also sent an email to Apple Support. I'm wondering if it wasn't properly activated at Walmart, but when I called they said I wouldn't have been able to check out if it wasn't. Has anyone else tried redeeming their itunes cards?

I remembered when I awoke at 9 a.m. on Saturday, raced over to my local WM and gathered all the $50 iTunes gift cards by the registers & the electronics dept. I got a total of 11 cards. There was no limit at the register and they all rang up at $35. I'll probably keep a few for xmas gifts, then see if my sister needs any for $35. Then I may sell the rest for a slight profit on craigs list or ebay. :cool1:

I heard about it on FB - I'm a fan of Walmart - they posted about this deal earlier in the week.:thumbsup2

So this explains why Walmart was crazy busy yesterday. There were no shopping carts available in the store. Had to wait for them to be brought in. I was thinking, what in the world, its only 11/6. Can't be this busy for Christmas already.

Didn't realize they had started their Christmas sales already.

I got to a WalMart near me about 10 min. before 8 and saw there were dozens of $50 iTunes cards and no one wandering about electronics. I asked a cashier if these were the ones that were on-sale and she said no, and walked me over a couple of aisles to a line heading to the back of the store (I was only about 10-12 people deep). Most were getting laptops/TVs. They said a separate line was for TVs only and someone asked about gift cards/iTunes cards and a WalMart employee said they could be bought at electronics. We explained they told us to get into this line and then she walked us all back to electronics.

That's where we ran into the "activation issue" that was apparently on Apple's side where the cards would only activate as a $35 card, not $50.

After standing there for another hour, they finally got it straightened out and I got my two cards rung up for $70 total and went home.

I was dead-tired and starving by then (had been up since 3:30 to get ready and head down to DTD for the sale there...snagged the KNex Space Mountain roller coaster for 75% off! woo hoo!! And a few other things there)

Well, I went back to Walmart and they exchanged the itunes card that wasn't working for another one, and I just checked and this code works.

Has anyone else had problems redeeming the ones you bought?
