50 Disney Dollars for opening a Disney Visa

Even if you are a SAHM you can apply for credit in your own name. They ask for your HOUSEHOLD income. That is the combined income for both spouses. It doesn't matter if all of the income is earned by one spouse. I gave my occupation as "Homemaker" and got the card without any problem.

If you plan to double up on this deal by having both you and your spouse apply for cards, here is a tip. When you apply do not make your spouse an authorized user on your card, and vice versa. You do not want your card to show up on your spouses credit report with him/her as an authorized user. This might affect your chances of getting the second card.

Finally, if you are planning on applying for a mortgage, refinancing etc. in the near future and your credit rating is borderline you might want to pass on this. Applying for a new credit card could lower your credit score and affect your ability to get a loan in the short term or keep you from getting the most favorable rate.

Can these disney dollars be used for anything at the disney parks? Can they be used for restaurants? What about the snack shops like at Blizzard Beach? Is it like a gift card that you get?

I've gotten a few offers for Disney Visas in the mail in the last few weeks, but they did not offer $50. So, do I understand correctly that you have to call that toll free number and give them a certain code to get the $50?

Can someone please tell me if they have recieved these DD if they are actual Disney Dollars (the one's you get from the DS) or are the Disney Reward Dollars- where they send you a "debit" like card from the credit card company??

Sorry, I was not clear when I posted they are the Disney Reward Dollars not Disney Dollars. I didnt' realize at the time that there were "Disney Dollars" So you do get a card to redeem the "money".

Question: Has anyone actually RECEIVED their $50 reward? I'm asking because I signed up during the time stockholders were to receive a free Disney watch (after the first purchase was made), and I don't have mine yet -- and it's been a few months. I think I need to call.

I just called even though Dh has the card and I am an authorized user. I'll post when/if I get it in the mail. The rep said it could take up to 30 days but I bet it will be sooner than that. It took her awhile to find the $50 offer and she asked where and when I saw it and I said "online within the past few weeks". I am glad that I knew the "spiel" would take awhile but it wasn't the half hour I thought it might be. She was quite a fast talker ;) I think the rep was actually surprised that I copied down the do not share info. phone number - as I am sure most people are snoring by the time she gets to it!

ps - to the previous poster who is waiting for the Disney Watch....do call back. Dh had to call back to receive his member since day one pin.

Tried today to apply- they told me they only have a 50 dollar onboard ship credit for diney cruise. I gave her the code number and she put me on hold and "triple checked with my supervisor" and I was told there was no way for them to put that code in! Any ideas anyone????

Did you use the number provided on the OP on page 1?

I didn't even have to provide the code #!!!

I'd try again in hopes that it was just a mistake (I hope they haven't finally discontinued it!).

I just called the # the OP privided using code 6Y7911 and it worked like a charm. I didn't ask what I would receive she just let me Know i would get $50.00 disney dollars credit after my first purchase.
Also I'm a SAHM and I just gave my husbands income.

I applied last week over the phone. She said I would get $50 Disney dollars after my first purchase -- but now I'm wondering -- Will it be mailed automatically after the first purchase, or do I have to call them to request it? We're leaving July 31, and now I'm afraid I won't have it in time to use. Anyone know?

The offer is for 50 reward dollars, not disney dollars. So, they'd appear on your account and you'd then have to transfer them to a rewards card. It says to give 4-6 weeks after your first purchase for the rewards to be posted to your account. There's a good chance you won't get your rewards in time for your July 31 trip, but you never know. Good luck!

Thanks for responding. One last question -- what's the difference between reward dollars and disney dollars?

Try calling again. That happened to someone else on here. I don't know what happened to her. I hope she called back. I have a feeling the phone number is what tells the operator what offer to give. United Visa also goes through Bank one and the operator there told me their just a call center so they have no idea what number I called. I hung up and called back and got the offer I was looking for. I have a feeling the phone number you dial is important in the offer they give you. I can post the number again if you need it.

Yes, I think the phone number you call is important. I had received a pre-approved form in the mail with a different # and it was for The Lion King DVD (something like that) or $15 Disney reward dollars. But I called the # in the OP and after getting my info and going through all the terms and conditions, I asked about the $50 reward dollars and he checked and said, yes that's what I would be getting.

FYI...

I got a flyer stuck in my newspaper...it's for $25 Bonus Disney Dream Reward Dollars.

It says that "You must apply for the card, be approved and use your card by 11/27/04 to get the $25 reward dollars. I thought this was interesting information that might be relevant to the $50 offer as well.

It also says to call 888-241-7781 and use the code #4BYC80 for this offer. I'm posting this just in case the $50 offer is ending soon so you can take advantage of this $25 offer.

Hi all!

I'm an authorized user on DH card, so I called the number on page 1 and applied for myself.

I verified the $50 offer was good for me, and that an an auth. user I could still get my own card. All good so far.

Then...during the stupid disclosure reading, she hung up on me!!!! I waited for her to call back (they had my number) and she didn't. So I called again, got somebody different, and this is what she told me: (this is the important part of the post!!!)

If the telephone call is unexpectedly cut off during the reading of the disclosure statement, the agents have been told to FORWARD THE COMPLETED APP for approval! Soooooooo...if your phone call is unexpectedly terminated during the 30 minute spiel, you have still completed the application process.

I'm calling BankOne Tuesday (long weekend) to verify this, but I wanted to pass it on, for those of you whose telephones have a hair-trigger hang-up button!!!!!!!!!
;) ;)

I have a disney visa and I received a code that is suppose to be good for $50 reward dollars. It is different than the one posted before it is 6HJV11. Hope this helps someone.

I just applied for my disney visa and they didn't even need the code. He said that I would get the $50 dollars. Yeah! For those of you wondering about how long it takes it took me 13 minutes from the time I dialed to the time I hung up. I even asked a few questions. Talk about quick and easy. Now I just have to wait 2-3 weeks to see if I got it.

janie91,

how long have you had your card? I was just wondering because my DH got a DV in February before the $50 reward dollars offer came out and I thought he can call, use the code you have, and see if that would work.

:thewave:

Just applied for the card and received the 50 Disney Dream Dollars offer. Thank you for all of the great information on this excellent deal!!:teeth:
