We are a family of 5 that stayed in the 5-person family oceanview room on the Dream and it was tons of space. They two bathrooms (shower and sink in one, sink and toilet in the other), which really makes getting ready easier. And we only used maybe one third of the available storage space for our belongings. I couldn't believe how spacious it was.
We have done it several times. We do it if we are on an itinerary that we want a verandah, like Alaska or Europe. If we are just doing the Caribbean out of Galveston, we will spring for 2 connecting inside cabins if it's cheaper. Either works fine.
I saw that there are cabins that can fit 5 people. Is it a better idea to get two smaller cabins or the one that holds 5? Has anyone here ever put 5 people in a room?
All 5 of us in ne room would not be relaxing for me at all. The kids get up early and their stuff is everywhere. When they were little, we would put them to sleep and leave the adjoining door cracked. I know people will say that they can pull the curtain shut, but then you can’t watch TV or have grown up alone time. Now that they are teenagers and stay out until very late, they are in an inside cabin across the hall and they don’t wake me up.
We let price dictate whether we get 1 room or 2 connecting rooms. On the Magic and Wonder it has always been cheaper to get the connecting rooms. On the Dream and Fantasy one room that sleeps all 5 of us has been cheaper. There are pluses and minuses either way, so that’s why we let price decide!
