5 Girls and a Boys Not So Scary Halloween PTR ~ 10/10 TR link

I'd love to see this movie. I'll admit when I first heard of it my knee jerk reaction was.... really? But the commercials make me laugh and we love Penny from Big Bang Theory. The pooped out jelly beans disturb me a bit ;) they're my fav but I'll always think of that now. :rotfl:

the jelly beans were freaking hilarious!!!

Yay on having a great time watching Hop! :thumbsup2

I also can't wait to see the new Pooh movie - it looks great! :)

Loved all the movie nights. Looks like you all have been busy making plans.
I bet Claire would love to see the imagination movers too.

What a great movie night!! It has been a long time since I have seen that movie!! Although I'm going to try to convince PP to watch Tangled with me this evening LOL!! I really want to see that before heading to Disney next LOL!!!!!!

What a great idea with the food!! You had such creative ideas!! No wonder the kids had a great time!

I don't know how many of you scrapbook and journal but I was introduced to a wonderful website tat sends you an email every evening and asks how was your day, then you reply to the email with what happened that day and the website saves all your responses for you

If you think it is interesting google "Oh Life"

I love it!!!

Thanks for posting about that site - didn't know it existed! :thumbsup2

Am not really much of a scrapbook person but this sounds like an easy way of keeping tabs on things! :cool1:

No problem, I thought it was a neat way to geep track of stuff and will make my journaliing easier!

Both of your movie nights sounded fun! I bet my dad would love a Sword in the Stone movie night.

I can't believe we missed Imagination Movers. There must not have been much advertising for it here, it was a couple weeks before Toy Story 3 on Ice...

I'm loving your Movie Night ideas!!!!

We went to go see Hop too, such a cute movie. Henry still talks about EB who poops jelly beans. :lmao:

Your MK plans look fabulous! I hope you are able to cover it all and the crowds stay away. :thumbsup2

I loved Hop, such a sweet movie!

Can everyone please pray for the crowds to stay away, it might help! I'm sure we will be fine even if it is crowded since it will be our first full day in Disney!!!

Can you believe it's already Tuesday and Tracy's movie night? Mine is in 2 days!

Let me tell you the movie nights and trying to get trip updates up in between really makes this thing go fast!!!!

Crazy isn't it? We're already approaching the middle of April!

Here's a sneak peak at tonight's movie night..... Ariana has been asking to see this particular movie for a bit now, based on one of her favorite rides. We'll be dining on Werewolf Chicken Claws and Spooky Spiders with Ezra, Gus and Phineas as guests!!

I know what you're watching!!!!

Tonight's movie night involved much more preparation, but was soooo worth it. We had a GREAT time. The movie Ariana had been (pardon the pun) 'dying' to see?

Our decorations were simple but fun. I downloaded the Haunted Mansion font and hung a welcome sign along with cutout masks of the Hitchhiking Ghosts. Did you know they had names? I didn't until this week. The one wearing the hat is Phineas, the skeleton is Ezra and the one with the beard is Gus.

Speaking of these guys, they were also our centrepiece. This is by far what took the longest to do but they were my favorite too.

Dinner was Werewolf Chicken Claws: (breaded chicken breast with olives as fingernails)

2011_0412Misc0009.jpg

Hot Dog Mummies: (crescent roll wrapped hot dogs with ketchup eyes)

2011_0412Misc0012.jpg

Apple Bites: (quartered apples with sunflower seed teeth)

2011_0412Misc0007.jpg

Spooky Spider Snacks: (Oreo cookies with chow mein noodles as legs and raisins as eyes)

2011_0412Misc0006.jpg

Tombstone Cupcakes: (store bought cupcakes that came with Tiana and Naveen decorations that I'll save for another movie night!)

(replaced with Tombstones)

Everything was a huge hit, the kids loved everything.

Another treat was Tomb Sweet Tomb boxes with gummy worms and tarantulas crawling out of them and leaving their eggs behind (Cadbury mini eggs! )

The setup....

2011_0412Misc0023.jpg

We ate in the dark by spooky candlelight....

2011_0412Misc0016.jpg

Then once dinner was over, Alex went off to do his homework while Ariana and Demetri played a game of Haunted Mansion Memory.

I took seven 'things' representing the Haunted Mansion and glued them onto cards. The Ghost Host, Master Gracey, Madame Leota, The Bride, The Singing Busts, The Hitchhiking Ghosts and the Haunted Mansion sign.

They took turns matching the cards and had a lot of fun with it. Ariana won all three rounds. :thumbsup2

Then it was time to watch the movie and guess who hitched a ride with us to the living room?

2011_0412Misc0032.jpg

Welcome Foolish Mortals!

2011_0412Misc0034.jpg

I've seen this movie once before and didn't like it. I thought it was awful actually and thought Eddie Murphy was a poor choice. So I was prepared to just suck it up and roll my eyes through it. A funny thing happened though.

I liked it.

I still think Eddie Murphy was a poor choice for it, and I strongly dislike the attitude filled thirteen year old girl character... but everything else I liked. I really think the difference was simply knowing more about the attraction itself. The memory game helped Demetri a lot and I can't wait to point out everything to him again on the real Haunted Mansion in September. :yay:

Last but certainly not the least, another link came down from our chain!
