Day 9
Saturday, October 1
Park: Epcot
Hours: 9am – 9pm
Reservations: Biergarten 5:30pm

We will have breakfast at Pop unless we love Sunshine Seasons so much we decide it’s worth a second meal. :thumbsup2

I’m sure we will hit up a couple favourites in FW but we will have a few things to do in the World Showcase. (Soarin and Test Track!!) I know a few of our group members will be headed to Japan to pick a pearl. I got myself a carriage pearl cage and Eryka got one that is round and looks like a soccer ball.

pearl.jpg

Last year Ariana and I got the carriage pearl cages and loved them! Earlier I showed you all the oblong ones that you helped me pick. :grouphug: I can’t wait to do it again!

2010_1205Misc0141.jpg

I am going to look at the ring settings while I am there because I had a pearl ring when I was a teenager that my dad got me and I don’t know what happened to it so I would love another one.

We will also need to do a Kim Possible Mission since my girls loved the one they did last year! We did Japan so a different country would be good.

I meant to do a Kim Possible mission in December but the kids did it instead. I did do one in January (in Japan too!) that was really fun. Shall we have teams??? :hyper:

Food and wine also will have started so maybe we will take a look at the offerings and see if there is anything we really wanna try.

I have to go back and look at the F&W details --- anything out there that you guys would recommend we shouldn’t miss??

We’re scheduled for dinner at Biergarten at 5:30pm. This was a day we added to the trip so we had to decide where to eat and Tracy said that George wouldn’t want to eat at Biergarten so I said sure why not. I am looking forward to the entertainment and fun I think we will have there. Also it will be a new experience for all of us.

biergarten.jpg

This ADR makes me nervous lol. :worried: On the one hand, I’m sure we’ll have a ton of fun with the show and the food sounds tasty. My Nervous Nellie side however, is really hoping I don’t walk away with a headache!

After dinner we decided we want to head over to the Boardwalk. I am really hoping there will be some street entertainment out at night.

Me too, we didn’t see any in December. The stroll around the area was beautiful but it would be fun on this trip to stop, sit and watch some entertainment.

2010_1204Misc0329.jpg

We are also thinking we would like to have dessert at Beaches and Cream. Now the girls and I have gone here to eat the last 2 trips and although we had to wait for a table we have always gotten, but Tracy has not had good luck with eating here so we will see how it goes.

2010_1204Misc0382.jpg

I think that was one of my saddest WDW moments when they told us we wouldn’t be able to get into Beaches and Cream that night. I was sooooo disappointed but I’m optimistic this time!

Plus, we’ll be meeting up with a very special DISer who just happens to be taking a solo birthday trip that particular weekend – KathyRN!!! So excited to say hello again in person... Kathy is the wonderful Spectrum Mom that hosted our trip in January and that I’ve had the pleasure of staying in regular contact with.

If for some reason we don’t get in maybe we can grab something for dessert at the Boardwalk bakery. I have never been to the bakery at the Boardwalk, does anyone know anything that they have????

I looked back thru my Boardwalk photos and as backups the Boardwalk Bakery looks good, as well as Seashore Sweets’ candy shop. Both have outdoor seating and promises of yummy goodness inside. If we’re still there a bit later into the evening, we can watch Illuminations too. Or maybe we’ll have already headed back to the Pop for a night swim and/or Petals night cap. Maybe Kathy will join us!

Only two more days to tell you about.... but first, a quick few steps backwards to catch you up on a few other DIS meets that we've setup.

Way back on our first MK day we'll be saying hello to newly married Stefy. She'll be coming to MK later in the afternoon and if all goes well, I'll get to congratulate her with a huge hug!

Jump ahead to our resort day and around mid day-ish we'll be saying hello to Tanz and her partner in crime Zaheer. It will be their last day  and they'll be squeezing us in between their last few hours at Epcot and the Magical Depress bus. Yay!

There will be one more DIS meet to tell you about in our Day 10 update. Any one else????

The trip is coming up fast :cool1: I love the snow white dress it is so pretty princess: and some fun plans for your EP day too...like the idea of teams for a KPM, you should divide up the families :thumbsup2

re F&W...Matt and i are most looking forward to the drinks and desserts :rotfl: and a few entrees too...

on my favorites list to try are: from Australia Lamington cake, from Carribean frozon coloda or mojito, from Germany the sauasge on pretzel roll and apple strudel, from Hops and barely Pumpkin Mousse and Beer, from Hawaii pork slider, and from Ireland lava cake....so much more to choose from :thumbsup2

so fun to see the DisMeets planned...I think that is one of the best parts :goodvibes

and love your coined phrase of the Magical Depress Bus...:rotfl2: so true though...

J~

Love your Epcot day and can't wait to read about your pick a pearl experience!

Lol having teams on the KP mission sounds like a fun idea - am sure it will not get competitive at all :rolleyes1

Also looking forward to seeing how you find Biergarten - am sure it'll end up being a good decision.

Ending the evening with Boardwalk and B&C sounds great! Hope you have a positive experience at the diner.

We are really excited to be meeting all of you but at the same time am sad that it will be our last day :sad1: I forgot to tell you that our flight has been delayed by two hours so it means we get to spend more time back at Pop before we board the dreaded ride home.

Your trip is coming up so fast, everyone must be getting very excited :yay:

Love the LK shirt...Ella's bday is in Nov right before our trip, I may have to make that one of her presents :goodvibes

The way our schedule is shaping up for the fall I just may be able to plan dinner and activities around our usual Friday night family movies, if so I know where to look for lots of ideas :thumbsup2

Hope everyone has a good first day back to school tomorrow :)

Hey just wanted to let everyone know that its now September 1st which means we are going to Disney THIS month!!!!!

 YAY!

I got to eat at Beaches and Cremes this past trip (dessert) and it was fabulous! I hope you can get in! :thumbsup2

I hope you get in at Beachs and Cream too! I've never eaten there but I still hope you get in. Yeah for all the DisMeets! I'm sure you'll have a great time at The Boardwalk.

Thanks for your F&W list Julie! Some of those sound delicious... I'm hoping the crowds aren't too insane.

I love DIS meets too... so fun to get to say hello in person to people you've been 'talking' to here. :goodvibes

My DH tells me I'm slightly competitive... hee hee... just slightly. :rotfl:

I'm glad we're going to Biergarten... even if it doesn't make my must-do list for future trips, at least it comes off the list of things to try. :thumbsup2

The Boardwalk is beautiful... I'm excited to get back and just hope again that the weather co-operates! Can't wait to start tracking the weather.

Yay for a few more hours! :yay: You can tell us your favorite parts of your trip and we'll have a sneak peek to your TR. ;)

We are soooooo excited!! Part of me still thinks it a little surreal that we're counting down the days now instead of weeks and months - woo hoo!

The shirt is very cute.... I hope you can get it for Ella's birthday, it's great timing!

I have two more movie nights to share with you all and then we only have two more until our trip! :faint: The last two I've chosen are geared toward our trip. One is about a certain Princess VERY important to the Magic Kingdom and the other is about a sinister gathering of up-to-no-good characters. ;)

 YAY!

I got to eat at Beaches and Cremes this past trip (dessert) and it was fabulous! I hope you can get in! :thumbsup2

Hey Jen! I'm really hoping so too... My heart had been set on that No Way Jose.

I hope you get in at Beachs and Cream too! I've never eaten there but I still hope you get in. Yeah for all the DisMeets! I'm sure you'll have a great time at The Boardwalk.

Thanks!!! :goodvibes Maybe if we have enough wind left in our sails at the end of the night we can sit on the beach loungers and watch an outdoor movie!

I think you will love Biergarten! I really enjoyed it, I feel like it's one of the most unique themed restaurants (as far as decor goes at least) in WDW.

I can't wait to someday have a trip of 9 days or longer, lol. Everyone I know that's going this fall (well, almost everyone) is going for longer than I ever have. I need some nice slow paced quality time with the World!

I confess to flip flopping on Biergarten. Today, I'm good with it. :rotfl:

It's addicting to add a day or two on to the trip. I love having a smell the roses pace!

Busy week here with back to school for the kiddos, trip planning in overdrive and work cranked up a notch getting ready for my vacation. :cool1: Let's skip all talk of work please and thank you... :thumbsup2

Here are two of the stars of this PTR all ready to go on their first day of school:

2011_09070005.jpg

Aren't they cute? :lovestruc

Now let's shift to trip planning. I've gotten a lot of the detail stuff done lately and I feel much better about being ready to go.

Mousekeeping envelopes with US money in them? Check!

2011_09070026.jpg

Luggage markers so I can tell those black suitcases are mine? Check!

Mickey_Heads_Luggage_Tags_5.jpg

Do you DIS? tags for my stroller and park bag? Check!

Stroller tag? Check!

Also taken care of are:

::MickeyMo Airplane activity booklets - Julie (mousescrapper) sent me a lot of sheets and I added some of the sheets we've used on movie nights, added to several more I've collected and they have 50+ Disney fun activity sheets to do on the plane!

::MickeyMo Letters of excuse for kids schools - they'll love giving these to their teachers tomorrow!

::MickeyMo Border letter for permission from George to leave the country. Just in case!

::MickeyMo Van maintenance and paperwork in order. Darn thing had the "check tires" light come on and the front brakes needed replacing. :headache:

Still to do:

::MickeyMo Ariana's picture itinerary - working slowly at this but it's easier when I'm at work so it's tough to sneak in the time to do it. Almost done!

::MickeyMo Window clings - for dressing up our Pop window!

::MickeyMo Recording the 'good night song' on my phone for the kiddos. On the weekends when George gets to tuck in the kids good night, they sing a song in Greek that George made up when Alex and Ariana were little. Alex has outgrown the tucking in part  but Ariana and Demetri still love to sing the song. I'm going to record them singing the song before we go, then each night on our trip, play the recording at bedtime. :cloud9:

Two more movie nights to share with you - coming up!

You can't tell from the picture unfortunately, but when the breaktaking scene with the floating lanters came on, we had our musical lantern playing with the lanterns we'd created on the living room table. It plays the music from the same song Rapunzel and Flynn sing and it has lights that rotate around too. It was beautiful! :cloud9:

I knew this movie had to be done for our movie nights so when it came down to choosing the last remaining few, this one was a definate. We love this movie a lot and throughout the evening we would randomly yell, "squirrel!" at any given moment. :rotfl: We had a little too many activities and had a tough time stopping to actually go watch the movie so it was a bit of a late night.

Another week closer and officially on the short wall for the chain!!

Day 10
Sunday, October 2
Park: MK
Hours: 9am – 7pm
MNSSHP 7pm – 12am
Reservations: Liberty Tree 2:50pm

This morning I think we can sleep in again, a little bit anyway.

My evil sleeping in plan is almost complete! I will have converted you by trips end ha ha! :stir:

The plan to start this day is to have breakfast at DTD at Wolfgang Puck Express. I have heard fantastic things about this restaurant and I really want to try the dinner but we were not able to fit it in so we decided to head there for breakfast.

Wolfgang-Puck-Express09.jpg

We’ve loved our Wolfgang Puck Cafe dinners on past trips so it’ll be great to try the Express place out for breakfast. Should be delicious!

After breakfast we are off to the Magic Kingdom. What are the plans for the day? Well I think since we should have finished our must do list on our last day here I think today will be a day where we all just pick our favourite rides and ride them again.

Eryka picks Space Mountain, Emma picks Regal Carousel, and mine is Haunted Mansion.

2010_1204Misc0256.jpg

cinderellas-golden-carousel-day.jpg

2009_0817pics0192.jpg

Last full days are bittersweet aren’t they? The freedom and luxury of doing whatever you please but as the day comes to an end, the nagging feeling that it’s your last sleep in WDW. Thoughts turn to packing and return flights and last minute purchases.... ugh.

Our favourites? Ariana picks Haunted Mansion, Demetri picks Splash Mountain and I pick Pirates of the Caribbean.

2009_0817pics0192.jpg

2009_0817pics0178.jpg

2009_0817pics0174.jpg

We have scheduled a late lunch at Liberty Tree for 2:50pm. We ate there for dinner in 2009 and although it was good I really wanted to try lunch so that I can try the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake.

LibertyTree.jpg

Ooey-Gooey-Toffee-Cake-at-Liberty-Tree-Tavern.jpg

We’ve never been to the Liberty Tree. It’s never been on my radar of places to try for some reason but once we picked it, I’m excited to try it – pot roast or pilgrim’s feast??? Will I want a nap afterwards?? :lmao:

By the time we finish lunch it should be after 4pm and that means it’s time to go get our bracelets for our 2nd MNSSHP of the trip!

I am so excited that we are doing 2 MNSSHP’s this trip. I always find that one party is not enough to see a lot. So if on our last party night we concentrated on shows and parades then this night we will focus on characters and photo ops.

I’m so glad we’re doing two parties.... there’s so much fun to be had that one is definitely not enough! I can’t wait for more party details to come out and I sure hope the rain holds out! If Ariana was Snow White for the first party, then this night she will be Cinderella. Demetri will be Buzz Lightyear and he is really looking forward to it!

We’ll also have our last scheduled DIS meet this night too. Comparing our schedules, Whitney (20thingamabobs) and I laughingly guessed we’d likely have plenty of opportunities to randomly run into one another just like our November/December trips last year. True to form, we found out we’re both going to this nights MNSSHP! We’ll make more detailed arrangements as the night approaches but it will be fun to say hello again – Demetri is already excited to see the ‘lady he rode the Yeti ride with’!
:rotfl2:

We will stay as late as possible tonight since it’s our last night in Disney World. :sad2:

As sad as this night will be, I think it’s pretty fitting that it will be at a Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. What a great way to spend our last night – all the fun with the characters and Hallowishes too!

We do have one last day to tell you about --- any guesses where we’ve decided to spend our last few hours in the most Happiest Place on Earth??

Yay I made it in the PTR! :goodvibes We really did run into each other A LOT in December. Which is especially funny considering I didn't run into a single other DISer. :confused3 Either way, I can't wait for the party schedules to start coming out (should be next Tuesday-Wednesday since the first party is the 13th) so we can make some plans!

Oh, and please tell Demetri that I can't wait to see my Yeti ride buddy as well!
