5 Girls and a Boys Not So Scary Halloween PTR ~ 10/10 TR link

Your safety vs. the needs of your readers... OK, fine, you made the right choice. Hope all is well.

;) When a friend of mine sent word her family was camped out in their basement I figured it was time to make the call to bail.

no worries :goodvibes glad you are fine!

It's a bright, beautiful day today and thankfully we had no damage. Just some backyard toys that flew into our pool. Some friends had trees that came down but we lucked out. :goodvibes

Love the shirts! I'm glad everyone is safe! But now we need the movie updates please :goodvibes

Thanks, tonight for sure! :thumbsup2

So glad you are/were safe & that there wasn't damage!!! :thumbsup2

I was soooo nervous last night after I saw your post about the horrible lightning & possible tornados!!! So I'm very relieved to hear things are ok!

We had storms here overnight. They started shortly after I posted on FB and got worse overnight. I was seriously hiding under the covers & had the lightning been any closer, I think I would've gone down to the basement. But since I had to pass by a door to get there, I choose under the covers instead! :rolleyes1

I know, I must sound like such a baby, but I've never seen lightning so close before! It was horrible! The weather man said it came from up North so I'm sure we were getting parts of what you got. Again, soooo glad to hear everyone is safe!

Good choice putting DISing 2nd and your safety 1st!!!!

Can't wait to hear about the movie nights!!!

The shirts all look amazing!!! I actually wish I would've read this before buying my letters because I purchased the single ones too! I hope they don't give me too much trouble. I'm not the most patient person in the world!

I LOVE the pearl cages!!! I've never seen those shapes before & I think they are now my favorites!!! Which seller did you buy them from? I know you already said it a few times, but with my pregnancy brain, of course I already forgot!

I can't wait to hear more about the rest of your trip!!! I love the plans for your Epcot days & the pics that you both posted!!!!

Glad to hear you are all okay after the tornado scare

Looking forward to reading about the movie nights later.

The dark made everything that much more sinister, not being able to see anything coming was nerve wracking for me. I actually welcomed the lightning so I could catch glimpses of my surroundings!

That system definately made its way east very quickly, it was huge and watching the radar maps was both facinating and scary at the same time. With the hurricane coming from the other direction it was a very busy weather day! :worried:

They REFUSED to stick! I was using toothpicks to try and pry off the corners.....

We'll soon have days 8 and 9 to share, then 10 and 11 to wrap them up. :cheer2:

Glad to hear you are all okay after the tornado scare

Looking forward to reading about the movie nights later.

Thanks Tanz! That was my first tornado warning and I'd be perfectly happy for it to be my last! :rotfl: Between that and the earthquake we had earlier in the week.......

We love Mulan! The story is awesome, the music is fantastic and we adore Mushu. :rotfl: The chinese food was a treat too, it's not something we typically have.

Making the chinese lanterns was very fun, we mixed up the colours we were using and got crazy with our patterns. We made so many! We then decided to hang them up and tape the lotus blossoms from the table to the bottoms of them. :cloud9:

Another week closer!

We had a TON of fun with this night! The picture scavenger hunt turned out awesome.... I took close up pictures of spots in our living room and kitchen that took a bit to figure out, and one clue would lead them to the next. Clipped to the back of each clue was a planet and Earth was the final destination to find. Once they did, we took all the found planets and using a guide, created a hanging solar system using string and a cardboard pizza circle. :thumbsup2

We love Wall-E and we hadn't seen it for a while so it was great to see it again. Eve and Wall-E are so cute together and we even like Wall-E's buddy the cockroach. :crazy2: :rotfl:

Another week closer!

I'm with you last night was too freaking scary to DIS. I was tucked nicely under the blankets, then I fell asleep. I swear I can sleep through anything that is why I get up so early.

I love your shirts, now you are making me want to make Emma one too :headache:

On the good news front I got a new job that I start Sept 6th and they are OK with me going on my Disney trip so whoo hoo!!!!!!

Movie: Toy Story

Activities:
Green army men
Mr Potato Head
Pin the tail on Bullseye
Baking sheriff Woody cookies

Food:
Pizza! :cool1:

I left it up to the kids which Toy Story we'd watch and Toy Story 3 won out - woot! I'd been hoping they'd pick that one!

It took approximately three minutes for the first slinky to look like this:

I'd forgotten how much fun it is to play with Mr. Potato Head!! Some of our creations:

Ariana is NOT a fan of the parts being in the wrong spots. Shortly after this picasso pic was taken he was promptly dismantled and Demetri was scolded. :lmao:

Then it was on to pin the tail on Bullseye and I'll let the picture explain who won the three rounds we played.

2011_08210030.jpg

Then we made Woody's sheriff badges cookies from a sugar cookie mix with blue icing we had on hand and M&Ms for the star points.

Still a tear jerker of a movie for me. I just love all the small details of the "human" reactions and expressions, especially from the scene at the end where Andy gives his toys to Bonnie. Sniff! Oh and I was reminded once again of why Lotso is such a meanie!!

Another week closer!

Love the movie nights Tracy - they are great as always! :thumbsup2

I think the Chinese written names are a great idea to tie in with the Mulan theme - that would never have even entered my head!

I started watching Wall-E once and lost interest - maybe I should give it a another try. Just seen the Toy Story review and am glad the 3rd movie was the one that was chosen as well - it sure is the best one!

Natalie - am glad to hear you are all safe as well and WOOHOO on the new job!!! How cool of them to be understanding about having time off so soon as well! :cool1: What's your secret? I've been job searching for a while and not been having the best of luck.

I couldn't go to sleep, I was too scared that I'd sleep through windows being broken and cows flying through the house. OK, I'm kidding about the cows but I had to wait until the storm passed before heading off to bed.

Make a shirt for Emma!!!! I'm enabling you ;)

Woo hooooo on the job!!! :cool1:  :cool1:

I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about Wall-E but we've loved it from the start. Demetri does an awesome impression of how Wall-E says his name when he's teaching it to Eve..... "WaaaAAHH Leeeeee". Try it again and just have fun with it. :thumbsup2

The two week safari had us starting out in the kitchen and the kids taking turns finding one animal at a time and checking them off the list. It was far too dangerous to send them both out at the same time, so going one at a time allowed them to accomplish the mission without bickering with one another. :thumbsup2

2011_08210050.jpg

Concluding our safari, we settled in to watch Ariana's all time, favorite movie. But as a preview, do you remember that wonderful Disney commercial where the two little boys are getting ready to go to Disney and the older one is telling his younger brother hints and tips on what to expect? I LOVE that commerical!!

Ariana was thrilled this was our theme that night. She was loving every minute of it!

Another week closer!!

Scary about the tornado!! I'm glad everything was OK. :goodvibes

More AWESOME movie nights! I am so impressed with what you pull together. Our November trip is a surprise of course, so no movie nights, but I'd love to do them for our April trip. We'll see... :confused3

Your countdown has almot turned the corner!!! :cool1:

LOVE LOVE LOVE the movie updates!!! We have done Mulan and Toy Story of course. We are doing Lion King in October after the DVD gets rereleased! I have thought about Wall-E but I have had a hard time coming up with ideas, so your movie night was a huge help! Those posters, did you find them online? Geez, you are getting so close!! I'm excited!

Another awesome movie night! I love all your decorations. We don't own lion king so I've been debating on pre-ordering it from the Disney Store but I haven't decided yet.

Oh, I was perusing Disneystore.com today and I came across a t-shirt and immediately thought of Ariana so I wanted to post it and show you:

The Safari idea was pure genius... and a good way to recycle TP rolls!

I know Ariana was loving this movie night! :simba:

In the end, it was the cities around us that got the most damage. For us it was all noise and no action. :thumbsup2

The Disney movie night thread and the dollar store are my secret weapons. ;) I did weekly ones but some are doing them monthly or every two weeks. Next time I'll do them with one or two little touches and probably every two weeks. Our chain is soooo small now!!

Glad I could help with Wall-E! I did find the posters on-line. Just google images "Wall-E posters" and a bunch of different sites come up. Or I could post them here..... let me know! :thumbsup2

If you like the lithographs you get when you pre-order, I'd say go for it. It's a great movie to have!

Kathy

She definately loved this movie night!

Right now Ariana is in our movie room watching the Lion King and Demetri is in the living room watching it too. Ariana is rewinding back and forth to her favorite parts while Demetri just wanted to see his one favorite part and then he was done. :rotfl:

The safari idea definately came from the movie night thread - they're awesome!
