5 Girls and a Boys Not So Scary Halloween PTR ~ 10/10 TR link

I'm looking up return flights again this afternoon (Sunday, October 2nd) and I just can't believe the rates out there right now. :headache: I've only booked our arrival flights through Southwest, hoping they'd go down and I'd get a travel credit to use to come home. Bah! Slim to none chance on that happening apparantly!

Delta has:

$119 flight if I want to leave MCO at 6:15am. Yeah, no thank you.
$202 flight if I leave MCO at 5:30pm and with a layover, arrive at BUF at 11pm. Nope, not liking that either.

AirTran has:

$99 flight if I want to leave MCO at 6:15am. Still no thank you to that one.
$139 flight which would be nonstop leaving MCO at 2:10pm. Good option there but earlier than I would have liked to leave.

JetBlue has:

$159 flights leaving MCO at 6am or 8:20am. Still NO.
$179 flights leaving between 6am and 9:45am. Anything after that point is just nothing to consider money wise.

United has:

$99 flight if I want to leave at 6:25am. Enough already with these super early flights!! :headache:
$544 flight if I want to leave at 1:55pm with a layover and get home at 6:15pm -- seriously?!? :scared1:
$119 flight leaving MCO at 2:45pm and with a layover getting home at 8:54pm. Another good option there.

Now intriguingly enough.....

Southwest has:

$202 flight if I leave at 7:15pm and nonstop get home at 9:55pm. That's the one I've been watching and hoping would be the one I get. It's gone up and down since I've been scoping it out.

What's interesting though, is I also see they have a nonstop flight leaving MCO at 7:15pm and getting to BUF at 9:55pm for $124.

The times I want and a great rate considering. So what makes it intriguing?

It's for Monday, October 3rd. :hyper:

It would be a $234 savings from the October 2nd flight. What I don't know is the $$ I'd spend staying an extra day. The site is blocked from work so I can't price it out.

Yay for double digits!!! I can sympathize with your to do list, I haven't made mine yet, but maybe I will work on it this evening...

My flight times were screwy too becaus eI was using "free" tickets that I earned through Southwest. I couldn't get on the flight I wanted for our arrival day, so I am coming in on the last flight of the day, and I added a day to the end of our trip instead. I'm definitely not saving money, but it's worth it. If I was youI would totally add the day!

OK I guess I missed more than just your double digit dance! Great to-do list. I'm sure I'll come back and look at it again when I start putting mine together. I use the same list for every trip & end up stealing things from other people's lists to make mine even longer. :rolleyes1

I'm anxiously awaiting the news about your return flight & the extra night. popcorn::

Great to-do list Tracy! It looks like you've covered everything.:thumbsup2 Oh and :woohoo: for maybe staying for an extra day!! Don't you just love fuzzy Disney math! I hope it works out for you.:)

Since I missed the official double digit dance...here it is again.;)

Woo Hoo!!!:banana: Hooray for double digits!! :cool1:

Minus one! ;)

Hi Amy! Yay for more dancing! :dance3:

That was smart too to add on your day .... I did it too! :yay:

Oh gosh yes, I steal from other people's to-do lists .... ::yes:: I'll steal from yours too!

Return flight news, coming up!

OK, I put the cash in the mail. Now you can wire me the money.

Sweet! I'll watch out for your delivery and wire mine off pronto! :upsidedow

Hey Angie!!! Thanks for the swing around the dance floor --

I took care of the fuzzy Disney math today. :woohoo:

So I did it. :yay:

I've been humming and hawing the last few days wondering if I should just go ahead and book the Monday return flight and add a day to the end of our trip, or if I should stick it out a bit longer and see if that Sunday flight I'd been watching went down.

I'm not big on waiting. :surfweb:

So, this afternoon, I checked the flights one more time and they hadn't changed since the last time I'd looked. I called Disney to make sure my $$ numbers jived with theirs for the extra day with the park tickets... and to make sure the availability was there. Everything matched --- it was still only $145 difference. So.....

I booked it! I made another payment toward the package and I bought the return flights!! My credit card was groaning at me, but it's official.

We're now staying Friday, September 23rd to Monday, October 3rd.

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I went shopping a bit today (I'll be avoiding opening my credit card statement for a few days when it comes :rolleyes1) for some movie night supplies and found the perfect things for Demetri's MNSSHP parties. :thumbsup2 More on that soon!
