5 Days of Deluxe Dining Plan with Pics!!! Updated 03/01 Narcoossee's

We too tried the Wave on our trip last month (Jan3-9) and liked it. We LOVED the Concourse Steakhouse and miss it terribly!!! It was always our 1st meal of our vacation. Anyways...when we were there I had the beef tenderloin and it was delicious, but I didn't care for the sides it came with. It came with a celery root mash (blech in my opinion) and some carmelized veggies...they consited of things like yellow and red beets and some others I couldn't tell what they were. I would have loved the meal even more so if the beef tenderloin just came with some plain old mashed potates and a veggie like green beans or broccolini or something like that. But I am a pretty boring eater and don't like very different things... But...the tenderloin was amazing!!! Used a butter knife to cut it!!!:goodvibes

celery root mash

As soon as we read this, it made us remember that Blair's tenderloin did come with a mashed celery root side. When we were looking at the pictures, we couldn't remember what the side was. It looked like mashed potatoes so that's what we labeled it as. But, now we remember so we've gone back and corrected it. However, Blair did enjoy the celery root mash.

We had lunch reservations for Yak & Yeti for 12:00. We arrived about ten minutes early and we were brought to our table immediately.

Appetizers: Blair ordered steamed pork pot stickers served with a soy lime dipping sauce.

Entrees: Blair ordered the shaoxing steak and shrimp which was skirt steak and tempura-battered shrimp served with jasmine rice, stir-fried vegetables and a chili plum dipping sauce.
DSCF2145.jpg

I ordered the baby back ribs with a hoisin BBQ sauce, chicken fried rice and sweet chili slaw.
DSCF2146.jpg

Desserts: Blair ordered the sorbet trio with mango, lemon and raspberry sorbet.
DSCF2148.jpg

I ordered the fried wontons which is skewers of fresh pineapple and cream cheese wontons served with vanilla ice cream and a honey vanilla drizzle.

Yet another mark in the "we enjoyed it" column. This was probably the only restaurant of our entire trip where we didn't feel like we were sitting on top of other people which was nice. The steamed pot stickers were good, and the pan-seared pot stickers were my favorite appetizer from the whole trip. The soy lime dipping sauce was fantastic! The steak and shrimp were both very good. Blair really enjoyed the chili plum dipping sauce and the jasmine rice was a nice side item. The ribs were very good. The serving was huge and I was unable to finish all of them. The sorbet was sorbet. There was nothing else on the dessert menu that really jumped out at her, so she ordered this. The pineapple and cream cheese wontons were very rich and sweet but they were good. I was stuffed, so I wasn't able to finish them either.

2 Soft Drinks: $4.38
2 Pot Stickers: $15.98
Steak and Shrimp: $24.99
Baby Back Ribs: $23.99
Sorbet: $6.99
Fried Wontons: $7.99

Total: $86.00 without tip

Overall, Yak & Yeti was awesome. We would definitely eat there again. In fact, if we are going to do a table service meal at Animal Kingdom in the future, Yak & Yeti would be the clear favorite.

We are going to Yak and Yeti in June because we did Tusker House last year and wanted something different this trip and reviews like yours ease my mind. I was kind of worried that it was just an expensive version of cheap asian takeout but it looks really great so I can't wait!
Thanks for sharing and I can not wait to hear about Yachtman's!

Enjoying your reviews and awesome pics. Congrats on your engagement. We are staying at the bc/yc (pretty sure) on our next trip so looking forward to Yachtsman review. Keep up the good work ;)

Great reviews!!! Love the pics...i think im going to most of the places u have chosen....i cant wait!!!

We loved Yak & Yeti on our trip in September. It was our second favorite meal of the trip. :thumbsup2

We had the exact same thing at Yak&Yeti. The pot stickers were incredible!

Congrats on the engagement!:goodvibes

yummy!! I can't believe it's taken me so long to realize there were Dining Trip Reports!!:rotfl2:

Can't wait to show my oldest yours so she can see some of her choices for her trip. :goodvibes

Congratulations on the engagement.

Congratulations on the engagement!:) We loved the concourse steakhouse on our last trip but will be trying the wave after seeing your photos :goodvibes

Just a quick aside before we get to the Yachtsman Steakhouse. After dinner at The Wave, we went to Downtown Disney for some shopping. While we were there, we went to Goofy's Candy Company and bought some treats.

Blair had pretzels dipped in milk chocolate. Two of them were covered with pecans, one with mini M&M's, and then drizzled with caramel.

Great post!! Your reviews are really enjoyable. I have not tried The Wave or Yak and Yeti.
Congrats on your engagement.

Originally, we had reservations for 8:40 at Yachtsman Steakhouse. We called and changed them to 9:15 so that we could go to the outlet mall after we left Animal Kingdom. We arrived at about 9:00 so we could walk around and take some pictures of the resort. Once we checked in, we were seated within five minutes.

Appetizers: Blair ordered the chilled seafood salad which was lobster, shrimp and jumbo crab with lemon creme fraiche and avocado cream. I ordered the lobster bisque with creme fraiche and finished with brandy. We were so hungry when we got there that we dove right in without even thinking to document our appetizers. Sorry guys!

Entrees: Blair ordered the Yachtsman filet mignon wich was an 8 ounce filet served with mashed potatoes, however she substituted potato gratin with diamond white cheddar.
DSCF2190.jpg

I ordered the Australian Wagyu which was a 10 ounce strip loin served with truffle mashed potatoes and a cabernet reduction.
DSCF2191.jpg

Desserts: Blair ordered the gelato.
DSCF2192.jpg

I ordered the creme brulee.
DSCF2193.jpg

Overall, it was good, but not as good as we were expecting. Maybe we had hyped it up too much in our own heads. The seafood salad was very good. It tied with the citrus and avocado salad at The Wave as Blair's favorite appetizer. The lobster bisque was very good but I'm a big fan of lobster/seafood bisque, so I'm easy to please when it comes to seafood bisques. The filet was good. It wasn't spectacular, but she enjoyed it. I was disappointed with the Wagyu beef. I had never had any sort of "high end" marbled beef before, so this was my first experience. It had good flavor but it was a little chewy for my tastes. Perhaps that is normal for this type of beef, I'm not sure. The gelato was good. It's ice cream, you can't really go wrong with it. Believe it or not, I had never had creme brulee until this night and...I was quite pleased. It's my new dessert obsession. :)

2 Soft Drinks: $4.38
Seafood Salad: $16.00
Lobster Bisque: $ 9.00
Filet Mignon: $39.00
Wagyu Beef: $54.00
Gelato: $6.00
Creme Brulee: $8.00

Total: $147.59 without tip

Obviously, this is an expensive restaurant and we would not have even thought about going here if we were not on the dining plan. They gave us special menus to take home. One of them said "congratulations" and the other said "happy honeymoon." They were a little bit ahead of themselves with the honeymoon wishes, but it's the thought that counts and it was very nice of them.

I love love LOVE this thread!!

You are a excellent reviewer (is that worded correctly??) and you two are stinkin ADORABLE!

Thanks *so* much :D and congratulations!!

Oh, and Im super disappointed that neither of the steaks that you had at the Yachtsman are still on the menu -- DH and I thought they were and we made reservations... After reading this just now we are tempted to cancel and free up two TS credits and try to squeeze something in .. not a lot of time left but maybe if I call WDW enough they will let us into Le Cellier.. heh.

Thanks again!!

What a lovely engagement picture and such a sweet story of the little girl at Le Chefs!

I'm definitely in for the rest of your reviews :)

We had reservations for lunch at 12:55. We arrived about 10 minutes early and it was very very busy. They were turning people away that did not have reservations because it was so busy. We waited probably 15 minutes for our table but it went by fairly quickly.

Appetizers: Blair ordered the mozzarella and tomatoes which had marinated sweet onions, balsamic drizzle, extra virgin olive oil and fresh sweet basil.
DSCF2265.jpg

I ordered the caesar salad with crisp romaine lettuce, caesar dressing and crostini.
DSCF2266.jpg

Entrees: We both ordered the wood-grilled shrimp over pipette pasta tossed with artichokes, peas, peppers and sweet onions in a basil and four cheese cream sauce.
DSCF2267.jpg

Desserts: We both ordered the warm chocolate truffle cake.
DSCF2269.jpg

We both enjoyed this restaurant. Blair preferred this mozzarella with tomatoes more than the version at Tutto Italia because of the balsamic drizzle and she really likes balsamic vinaigrette. The caesar salad was good. The shrimp pasta was quite nice. The shrimp were grilled very well, not underdone and not overdone. I preferred the pasta dish at Tutto Italia over this one, but it was still very good. The chocolate dessert was good, but it was extremely rich which made it difficult to finish. We also had some very good sangria which never made it onto the camera.

2 Soft Drinks: $4.38
Mozzarella and Tomato: $7.99
Caesar Salad: $5.49
2 Shrimp Pastas: $35.98
2 Chocolate Cakes: $11.98
Lots of Sangria:) : $18.00

Total: $89.27 without tip

We feel like we were essentially in the same position here that we were at the Magic Kingdom. There really aren't a lot of options for food. However, we did enjoy Mama Melrose's and we would eat there again.

Mama Melrose never interested me much before, but that shrimp pasts looks delish! And no chocolate dessert is ever too rich for me, so that looks wonderful as well . . . may have to give MM a try soon.
