5 day PHP Question -- speak slowly and use small words...

I have a room only res for end of January.
We would like to purchase 5 day PHPs, but can not do so until the last minute. (Like, the week before or less.)
Can I still buy them online?
How do I deal with shipping time (and not pay extra)?
Can pre-purchased tickets be picked up at WDW?
At our hotel (POP) or at the parks?
What do the tickets look like? (another post mentioned paper, and I was expecting plastic)
Can non-UPH tickets be tied to your room key?
And on another note, can you still charge to your room account on your room key even if you don't have a package?

Do you belong to AAA? Or have a friend who belongs that would help you buy tickets? They sell 5 day PHP there at very comptetive rates, you wouldn't have to pay for shipping, and they would be in your hand immediately. Another benefit, in case you are planning to use a car, is a parking pass that allows you to park closer in (you'd still pay for parking if staying off-site, though).

For more info on PHP's purchased on-line, I would check out the info on the Budget Board.

All the PHP's I've had were paper, albeit a thicker, stiff, glossy paper with Disney pictures on them.

They cannot be tied to your room key. Make sure you copy the backs of the ticket--if they are lost they can be replaced if you show guest services your photocopy.

For you last question, yes, you should be able to charge. You'll have to leave a cc number at check-in though.

You can also purchase them online from Disney and pick them up at a will call window at the parks. No shipping charge and it only takes minutes to get them at the park.

YES, ON THE DISNEYWORLD.COM WEBSITE JUST SELECT "WILL CALL/PICKUP" IN THE SHIPPING OPTIONS BOX AT CHECKOUT.

YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PICK UP YOUR 5 DAY PHP'S AT DISNEY GUEST RELATIONS. THERE ARE SEVERAL OFFICES, INCLUDING ONE AT THE ENTRANCE TO MAGIC KINGDOM AND ONE AT DOWNTOWN DISNEY. THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PRINT YOUR TICKETS AT YOUR RESORT, YOU MUST GO TO GUEST RELATIONS.

YES. YOUR "KEY TO THE WORLD" WILL GIVE YOU ACCESS TO YOUR ROOM AND ALLOW ROOM CHARGING PRIVLEDGES.

Any ticket that you purchase at resort check in can be encoded onto your resort ID. You will pay the higher gate price for these.

Nothing that you purchase ahead of time or are doing a will call at WDW on can be encoded onto the resort ID.

You can by Park Hopper Plus Passes at the Disney Store. They are the same price as the tickets you buy from Disney Online, minus the shipping fee. You might want to buy them as soon as possible though in case the prices go up. They probably won't go up until after the first of the year, but no one knows exactly when. Our passes from the Disney Store were plastic, which was nice.

One other option, we purchased PHPs from ticketmania.com and they delivered our tickets to BWV last May - they were waiting for us at the front-desk when we checked in. Something to think about as an alternative at least for comparison.

I just picked up some 5 day PH passes from the Disney Store. If you have a Disney store near you, you can pick them up at the last minute. The tickets from the Disney Store are not paper, they're plastic like a credit card. They will give you your regular receipt, and also a special receipt which they told me to keep in a separate place in case I lose our tickets.

I received a park hopper in the mail yesterday and it is plastic with Mickey on it with the strip on the back. (Same as my MVMCP tkt.)

If you buy UPH (formerly known as Length of Stay) passes (or individual days) at check-in those will be on your key card, but will end on the day of check out - any days not used could not be saved for future use.

I stand corrected...apparenty some Park Hopper Passes are printed on plastic. Mine have always been paper. But I wish they would change them all to plastic, much more practical.

I used my AP all last year and it was made of paper. It held up very well. I went 86 times last year.

Personally, I prefer the paper. When carrying 6, the paper takes up that much less space in a wallet or belt pack.
