5/31/11 -- Chilling on the Wonder

Will the FE list be divided into smaller groups so that it is easier for all of us to manage? It appears that there is 30+ families participating and I am thinking that smaller groups would be the way to go. The last time I participated we had groups of 8 families in each FE group. What is your plan? Please advise. Thanks!

Hello again everybody! We're getting more and more excited for our cruise! Less than 100 days now!!! Just wondering if there are any other Canadians on this board going on the cruise?

I don't have my official list with me but I think it's more like 15 families so far. I prefer not to break it into smaller groups but I will go with the majority here.

We were on one cruise with more than 120 cabins participating. We had to buy smaller gifts but we've never had so much fun with fish extenders!:)

That is sort of the reason I went with Harv and Marv. They have been great to deal with as well. I hope we see a couple of whales but if not I love being on the water.

Found out today I need to get new rain gear. We tried out our "rain" jackets today on a college tour where it poured and mine didn't work out so well. Shopping here I come.

Where did you tour?
I just got back from College Station, TX. Katie and I drove down to meet up with Laura to tour Texas A&M.
Then the 3 of us drove up to DFW so Katie and Laura could fly out to tour the University of Alabama on Monday.
After 16 +/- hours and almost 1,000 miles of driving it's time to catch up around the house.

Just did a quick overnighter to Cal Poly San Louis Obispo. We are doing Stanford and UC Berkeley over spring break. We probably need to go east at some point but it would have to be in the summer. It seems like the spring activity for so many juniors.

I understand. Spring break is Oklahoma State, Arkansas, and Missouri. Later is Oklahoma with Maryland this summer.

Ok, I signed up for the FE , but I have never done it before, so kind of need some help. :-) I have been reading about it but still..... questions.
I see in our FE list around 18 families, we will do little presents for each individual based on age, correct? once or more times during the cruise, and if once when? this just to start.. :-)

I wanted to let those of you who were unable to book the Disney Exclusive Dog Musher for the Day that more slots have opened up. I was able to book for my family of 3.

You can do FE however you would like.
We usually give one item per stateroom.
Some people give the kids something small for each child.
There is no set in stone way you have to do FEs.
It is all for fun.

I would assume that since we're past the 100-day mark, some of our fellow cruisers who are either platinum or concierge would be able to book Palo by now. I was wondering if they will be doing high tea on the Alaskan cruises. I was also wondering about our day in Tracy Arm. It seems that it is being treated as a "port" day, even though we will actually be cruising that day. Will tea be offered at Palo on the day we're in Tracy Arm? If not will it be offered on the other two sea days?
Thanks so much,
Sherri

Hi Sherri. You live in my husband's most favorite place in the world. He's a big pottery buff. We hope to go again this this summer. Such a beautiful place.

Palo is booking for days 2, 3 (Tracy Arm Fjord) and 7

Is Palo booking all three days for brunch and tea?

Thank you!

Linda

Hi Bill,

Yes that does help. I was hoping to score a Tea...it's one thing I haven't had an opportunity to do yet. Maybe some time slots will open later.

Thanks again!
Linda

Linda,

Even if day 7 does not open up for tea you still have times on days 2 and 3

We love doing the FE  It can be a gift per stateroom. It can be a gift per person. It really doesn't matter. It is up to you if you label your gift as to who it is from.

It is a lot of fun being stealthy delivering those gifts. Oh, how many times we have pretended to be walking by staterooms while snickering to ourselves that we had "gifts" we were trying to deliver. :rotfl:

Some gifts are very crafty, some are nice candy treats, but all are appreciated. There are FE gift exchange threads up here on the disboards also. Hope this helps.

Linda

Hi Linda,
We should meet for wine onboard. My husband and I are both into pottery, he's done a lot of mosaic work with scraps from the old pottery factory on the island. We've both lived here for about 20 years.
Maybe we could have tea on day 3 ;).
Sherri
