Well, we did get some snow but it was mostly rain. A little snow stuck on the grass and on parked cars, but the streets just got wet. It suppossed to be a mixture of rain/snow all day today and into tomorrow. To have a storm with this much moisture stall over Denver is rare. The moisture was much needed and hopefully we'll start to green up now. The good news is that it's going to be sunny all next week with temps in the 70's each day!!

The mountains on the other hand are getting hammered. The roads are closed and they are getting anywhere from 1 to 4 FEET of snow! :scared1: I'm glad I'm down here in the "lowlands" at just 5,720 ft above sea level and not in the higher elevations.

OK, I spoke too soon about the snow. It's coming down pretty hard now. Still too warm to stick on the streets, but the cars and grassy areas are getting some accumulation. Hopefully the temps don't fall any further. It looks more like December than April here today.

I also forgot to mention that I'm officially no longer on jury duty. I've served my civic duty and helped reach a verdict on our case. It was a criminal case involving someone who stole some aluminum concrete forms used to pour foundations for houses. He stole a full trailer load sometime during the weekend and then sold them to an aluminum recylcing center as scrap metal the following Monday morning. The trial itself took about 6 hours, but it took two full days to pick the jury, go through the various instructions, recesses, etc. I have to admit that overall, it was a very interesting process and I'm glad that I was selected for the jury itself.

The funny thing is that after the trial was over, the judge sent us back to the jury room to talk to us. When I got to see him up close, I noticed that he was wearing a very tiny diamond earring in his left ear and immediately thought of Colton getting an earring this week.

Christopher! That is too funny about the earring!!! Colton has had no trouble with it. It's healed nicely and with the type of back that is on it, it doesn't bother him in his sleep. The back is shaped like a dome and covers the pointed end of the earring. Wished I had those when I had mine done!!

The boys had a set of brothers spend the night last night and tomorrow they are going to go with them to their family farm. They will be good and worn out so they can get to bed earlier and get back into the swing of school hours!! I'll be here doing yard work. I should have done it today, but with the boys here, I just didn't wanna!!!

Time to get ready for track practice! Hope you have a good night and whatever you do...

Make It Magical!! :wizard:

The snow is gone!!! It rained most of the day, but the sun is out again and you can't even tell it snowed. Tomorrow is supposed to be near 60 and then up to the 70's after that!!! Springtime in Colorado.

Today's CC Picture. If you've ever mailed a Postcard from CC, you would think they actually used those bottles as it takes so long to get the postcards.

Great starfish. The water's so clear that it had to be Serenity Bay.

Well, after the snowstorm last Friday and Saturday, yesterday turned out great. Sunny and in the 60's. All of the snow is gone and there were lots of people outdoors enjoying the Springtime weather. We went for a bike ride ourselves. This week it's supposed to be in the 70's nearly every day. Hopefully winter is behind us!

Hi all! I made iron-ons from my computer and they looked great, until I ironed it on. Crappy. So, I went to our local business in town and asked for a quote on printing them. I checked out the site CrazyCunninghams recommended but they looked like they were about $15 give or take. This local shop (and my quilting club orders all our shirts there) gave me a quote of $6 INCLUDING THE SHIRT!! I thought they were mistaken so I asked several times. Yes it includes the Double Dip design with the palm trees, lettering and Mickey. I dont know if anyone can get them cheaper than that, but I would be willing to coordinate and send out if everyone included postage and tax. Now my quote was based on 120-150 and I think we are at about 83 right now counting everyone. But I've heard that we will probably pick up more people as the date gets closer. So what is everyone's take on this? $6 includes small to XL, other larger sizes are $2 more. It is a good quality, 100% cotton white shirt made by Port Authority. Let me know what everyone thinks.

Tami,
That is a GREAT deal on the shirts. We are getting that many made for track and paying $6 as well. Are you SURE you want to take on this endevour? Are you driving to the port? Would bringing them and handing them out be better?
I had another thought.....what if we used this logo on the back of the T and put something smaller on the front...like a pocket logo? I am sure they would charge more for the shirts though. Maybe like Mickey and Gang with Double Dip Trip and the Dates? just another thought to throw out there since we have time to work it out.
Hope everyone is well. It's Monday, It's crazy and I am beat! LOL Still have to get Colton from Marching Band Practice at 9. WHY so late???:confused3

That's what I was thinking too, but wanted to keep it economical. Yes, we are driving our motorhome because of our dogs. I am flying my daughter in to Florida to stay with the dogs while we cruise lol. I was going to take Disney transport over to the port, but I found out they dont get there until 1PM! I know they dont start boarding til one but I want to be there earlier!! So, yes, we will be driving to the port. So how ever every one wants to do it is fine with me. It just keeps me more intouch with the cruise. It's so far off I want to keep thinking about it and doing stuff everyday. Working on FE gifts now.

Tami,

I agree that the t-shirt ordering can be daunting, but if you can take it on, that'd be great. I would defintely wait until early 2010 to finalize the ordering. Even though we have 83 on here now, not everyone will order t-shirts. I think out of the 500+ people who posted on our Panama Canal cruise thread and website, only about 125-150 shirts were ordered (and some people ordered two different colors). Granted, they were more expensive (about $20 each) which may have kept people from ordering.

I would find out what the next ordering quantity below the threshold you have now is, in order to see how much higher the price would be. That way everyone can be prepared to pay the max price and if we get enough interest, they'll get a price break.

Are you sure you don't want to mail them out ahead of time? If so, you should factor in a shipping cost. Even if you have room to bring them to Florida, on a 5 night cruise, you'll be tied up for several hours on embarkation day handing out t-shirts when you could be exploring the ship for the first time. For us, 5 nights will go way too quickly!! Plus, it's fun for everyone to wear the shirts to embarkation so that we can find each other more quickly.

Ooooh! The t-shirts sound FAB! Count me in for sure.

Here's another CC pic. Doesn't that water look inviting?

We have perfect weather here this week! Upper 70's/low 80's, low(ish) humidity, cool evenings (mid 50's)...I've got spring fever in the worst way! 32 days until we leave for the World!!! :yay: Mickey mail should arrive next week! :woohoo:

We hit our first 100 today. The pool was 83 and wonderful. Dont envy you with yucky weather. I'll check this week on what the price for shrits would be at a lower quantity.

Wow ....100 degrees already! It's been nearly perfect Spring weather here this week -- mid-70's, sunny and absolutely no humidity!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend! We are going to be blessed with hot, gorgeous weather this weekend so Chris and I are headed to the beach. Leaving shortly. Its amazing how much stuff we need for 3 days-and we have no kids!
It is going to be mid-80s in Ocean City, almost 90 :scared1: in PA.

"I'm gonna soak up the sun......."

Tami~
LOVE the idea for the t-shirts. Chris and I are definitely be interested in them. I think wearing them on embarkation day would be fun!
