It does not have a backlight - you have to use an external clip on type light. You can look at mine next time we're together...

You talkin' ta me???:lmao: I thought it wouldn't, since it was "readable" outdoors. I'd love to see it, though. You never know, I may win the lottery or something........ :rolleyes1

YAY...another U-TOP!!! And more extra PDFG!!

I've started some of my shopping...late...I'm usually done by Thanksgiving...
I have a couple for Jared (not telling, though, since he reads the Boards) and for Jay. Am stuck on what to get Jordan :confused3 and Megan will be easy...maternity clothes!

Thanks for ruining the surprise! Actually... I kinda figured that's what I was getting, when you asked me what size I wear the other day. I'm ready for new jeans. I can't sit, without unzipping the pre-pregnancy jeans. :scared: I have one week left, in my first trimester, and I just now started getting morning sickness every day... what's up with that? I thought it was supposed to go AWAY by now.

 You always were the biggest SNEAK. I should have known you'd be lurking around here. Oh well, you would have known by the middle of the week anyway, since I had them shipped to your house.

GO TO BED....my grandbaby needs its sleep!!!!

P.S. I didn't buy jeans

P.P.S. Some people have morning sickness the whole time. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Now go to bed.

Jay would love that...thanks for the tip!!
What are you doing up so late???? Or is it early?

It's early for me. I don't understand how none of you complained about Sharon snoring!!

Lisa and I are off to be volunteers for a local race....after I got a 2 hour nap in Matt's room.

Uh, thanks. But no thanks.

Booksfree.com. The netflix for paperback books.

Lots of books right to the house for a single monthly fee.

Sharon still loves it after almost to years. And our book expense has gone way down. :yay:

Isn't paperbackswap.com another one of those?

Actually, I think this one is a little different. As far as I can tell, there isn't a monthly fee. You earn book credits by sending out your books.

I think you are right. You donate books which allows you to borrow books.

Booksfree is identical to Netfliks.

Yes, the Kindle is kind of extravagant. But I haven't bought any jewelry since the last Mom's cruise, and I almost never buy myself new clothes. A lot of books for the Kindle are in the range of $.99, if you don't mind reading the classics. And I think I'm ready to re-read some old favorites.

The other thing I really like about it, you can download a sample of a book before you buy it. Like the first 2-3 chapters. Enough to tell if it's going to catch your interest. I like the "saving a tree" aspect too. I did try the Paperback swap and it drove me nuts, and we lose library books. So it seems like a good option for me.

I'm also going to be looking into getting college texts on it, they are supposed to be ramping that up. Which means I would lose my Kindle next year, but it might be much cheaper than buying the textbooks (and much lighter in the backpack). With the money we save, I might be able to buy another Kindle!

No, I don't get a commission. I've just been reading the threads over on the community board, and the reviews on Amazon.

Actually Jim, I think Sharon would love it. If she finishes a book while she's waiting for Lisa at gym, she can download another one right away.

I've been rereading the classics lately too, Diana.

So far I'm through The Pearl, and Of Mice and Men.

I just checked The Grapes of Wrath out of the library.

Hi all, just got caught up reading all the old posts and the new ones here. Hope everyone is doing well. We have been really busy with high school swim meets. We have had several small dual meets, and just had their first big high school invitational, with 13 high schools competing. Ashley did really well. Their medly relay came in 2nd. They were a 1/2 second ahead through Ashley's portion, then after our 3rd person, they were dead even, and our last person lost by 3/10th of a second. It will be between our school and our main westside competitor to see who wins at District. Ashley got 4th overall on the 200 IM and had a personal best time, and got 2nd in the 100 Breaststroke with a best time. Her teammate was the only one who beat her and Ashley was closer to her this time than ever before. She lost by 7/10th of a second. Not bad since her teammate is almost 17 and Ashley just turned 14.

I am starting to look forward to being in Florida over spring break and trying to think of what we will do while we are there. The only DVC resorts that I could get a resv. at were either OKW or Saratoga. I went ahead and booked Saratoga, but may move back to OKW. I just love the big rooms at OKW.

Oh well, have to run and get to bed. Ashley doesn't have school tomorrow, but she has to be a practice at 5:20 a.m. (YUCK)

See ya'll

Actually I don't want a kindle. I LOVE the audible books. I can listen to a story while I am driving, working out, running errands, etc. I have Booksfree.com for when I actually have a few minutes to sit down and read. So, I'm good.:thumbsup2

Monica - It sounds like you have had a fun week....It's been cold down here as well...the water is now below 80....It was 79 - I had to wear a second piece to my wetsuit...
