I remember seeing / hearing that same thing from Jim many years ago. After 3 years of working on his MBA from Michigan at night while working full time, the weekend following graduation he had the nerve to say "I'm bored". What!!! After listening to many grumblings about all the things he wanted to do rather than go to school / study, find something. I think he started on some construction project - there were MANY of these over the years.

I do that every summer. As happy as I am to be finishing up schoolwork with the kids, it does leave me with a sense of "what now?" I guess that's part of my identity and without it I'm a bit lost at times. Of course, I could start cleaning more....

why dont you all put your dis names on there

That's what we did. Ours are not fancy. I let the kids design there own and they just have their screen names on them with whatever graphics they wanted. Besides, I only know most of you by your screen names. I guess I had better look over Mark & Mary's navigator to link "real names" with DIS names. OR, I could actually start trying to organize my self for this trip. For whatever reason, I am not "stressing" at this point (nor am I nearly as organized as I usually am) about this trip.

Ohminnie.....the two signs that I laminated, I just used the do-it-yourself- sticky kind. I had tried using the clear plastic sleeves, but I couldn't cut a straight line to trim them. I flunked my Basic Cutting and Pasting in Kindergarten.

That's why the rest of us use paper trimmers.

Went to Michael's at lunch and picked up the "sleeve" that Monica & John were talking about. It's 8x10 size which means I'll have to trim my pages. It was $1.99 as Monica said.

Your excuse is that I went to grad school while working full time and having two kids... YOU picked up the pieces!!!! (Thanks, hun!)

I think my most distinct memory of grad school was the day before our cruise in '01 ... first NICE day NH had seen... the whole family was outside playing... and I was locked in the bedroom, chained to the computer, packed suitcases all around me, trying to finish and e-mail a research paper before cruising. Dr K. INSISTED that I NOT bring any schoolwork on the cruise with us...

Well, there was that one cruise that Sharon and I took just after getting married. In fact, I think it could have been our honeymoon. I'm not sure, but Sharon will know.

I packed all my books. I figured it would be a great time to study while she was resting. It was and I got a lot done.

That was when I was younger and could read without falling asleep. Now give me a book while I'm on a cruise and I'll be sound asleep in a few minutes.

Wow! Sounds like we have a lot of DRIVEN people on this cruise! DH also has his master's. He was working on it while we were in our off-again/on-again phase of dating. I tried but it just isn't for me. I'm not focused enough.

Thanks for the birthday wishes for the DD. Her Dad gave her a special present, and she was totally bummed that it wasn't CAR KEYS! Ha. She watches too much TV, and should know better than that.

Thought she didn't get her license yet? Isn't that a prerequisite?

My bad. I KNEW Jordan's birthday was one week after mine, and I still forgot.

That graphic is a picture of a card with pins from the first pin cruise. I've got those pins somewhere, we are on the cruise a few weeks later.
