So is this the thing now? :confused3 To have graduations at every level? I was shocked when I saw my first "kindergarten" graduation. Now they have (at least) after kdg, 5th, 8th, 12th.... Who knows what else. Not having kids in the school system I guess I'm out of the "graduation" loop.

I remember when I grew up, you had to go to school 13 long years before you even THOUGHT of graduating!!!

Yep! 5th grade graduation here in Georgia is BIG! At that age though, it's mostly about 'being with friends' :goodvibes But it gets worse: 8th grade graduation is HUGE - and there's even a "formal" -- parents were even hiring limos for 8th graders for crying out loud!!! I think most of the middle schools "banned" the limos, but it's still an expensive evening!

More excitement to look forward to :teeth: :teeth:

Well-- I have a very upset little girl here tonight. She did not make the squad, they only took 7 6th grader girls. The bad part is 5 of her friends made it. I have never seen her cry like this before. She is starting to get better, but I just feel so bad for her.

Oh, poor thing! I'm so sorry that she didn't make it. Big :grouphug: to her...

We also did 13 years before we graduated and then it was just spending the last day partying and writing on our uniforms with marker and that was it - done!!!!

This is all new for me too but I feel bad for her to miss it completly so will probably wait and extra hour or 2 and then leave :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

We always had pseudo-graduations when we ended in a school. That was 5th, 8th and 12th grades. When you're a kid, it's a big deal.

I guess I'd go for a little while too. At least you know you have a nice room waiting for you, and the next day will make it ALL worth while!

10 minutes... they'll be gone by then...

BTW- your tickets for tomorrow night are VIP tickets... includes full open bar... but I'm sure Sam can't make margaritas like Kevin's recipe!!!

Don't know if I have posted this picture here before, but this was taken with my D100 in Hawaii. I was using my 70-200 with a 2x teleconverter - so using the 1.5 crop factor it was like shooting with a 600mm lens (albeit at f/5.6). My tripod is not quite heavy enough for that much glass so it is a bit soft. We were about 1/2 mile away from the flow.

Very Nice!!

4" exposure at f/5.6? Nice!! What ISO did you use? EXIF says you used manual white balance, what did you use?
