Knowing Mary, she has it somewhere on her PC and copy and pastes it each time :) She's a smart lady, that Mary!!! :)

I actually heard something interesting about vodka on the radio a few weeks ago. Apparently, if you take cheap vodka and run it through a Brita filter, it comes out tasting like Grey Goose. A friend of mine told me last week that she'd tried it and it works! (Not that I drink a lot of vodka, but might be a useful tidbit of information for someone out there!)

I heard if you run it filter it through your dirty socks it taste like dirty goose..... :lmao: :rotfl2: but it has more "body"

All this talk of marathons and walking is making me feel guilty, I haven't turned the treadmill on for about a month!!! :cool1:

What's that number 52606? That's over 14,800 posts in the next 30 odd days. That's over 490 posts per day!!!

IMHO is we get anywhere CLOSE to that this is going to be an EXTREMELY boring thread. I, personally, like to follow what's going on in ppl's lives---laugh with them, cry with them, pray for them....but with over 490 posts a day there will be too much to even wade through (especially if the server is as slow as it is today) and all the parts that make this group special (the bonds of friendship) will be lost just to get to a certain magic number.

Hey, I may be odd man out thinking like this, but I dread the thought of losing the friendships just because shameless post boosting take precedent over relationships.

Stepping down off my soapbox now.

OK, I think you have a good point. It's hard enough to stay caught up now. If we start trivializing it, it'll be boring and lots of wasted time. We know we'll keep the thread going AFTER we all return home. That could be something to *celebrate* on the day we do hit the big #. :drinking1

I agree with Karen (who isn't a meanie by the way) and Jim. I'd rather read 3 pages of really interesting stuff than 10 pages of just trying to count down to the next big milestone. Don't get me wrong milestones are fun, but not if it takes all the fun out of the thread itself. if you want to just be posting on a huge thread go over the CB and look for the one on last one to post. That one went over 100,000 but they are short simple posts. I would hate to see that happen here.

Julia - it has just become kind of routine for me. No I don't have it saved because sometimes I'm posting it from home and sometimes from work.

...

Hey, I may be odd man out thinking like this...

Nope, I agree too!!! If you go waaaaaaaaayyyy back to page 2314, you'll find the first mention of "52706"... might have sounded like a fun idea at the time, but I think too lofty a goal to be realistic about without driving each other, and ourselves, crazy.

(But, sorry Ray... you don't get out of the birthday wishes... EVERYBODY wishes EVERYBODY a happy b-day on their b-day... and Mary is the keeper of the b-day list... so if I hadn't started it, she would have!)

No reservations for JBs, but I will call down to let them know we are coming and to find out if they have rock shrimp. I will need to know who is coming.

Early is better on Friday night. It will also let people get back to their hotels before to late.

Is 4 PM okay?

Lisa is currently scheduled for the gym so she and Sharon will not be there.

4pm works for us. Please put down Mark and myself (ok put us on the list don't put us down). :) Sorry to hear Sharon and Lisa won't make it but hopefully you'll have Matt carry our box over and everyone who shows up can get their buttons and navigators early.

Sounds good to us, I will get there around noon to save us seats :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Lemme guess... you're going to have NOTHING to do on THAT day at work either! Feast or famine with your job!!!!!!

I'm sure I'll be at the office until at least noon... or else I'll plan some Account Management Calls to our New Smyrna accounts that Friday...

OK.... All caught up!! and between getting kids off to school, talking cruise with DH, setting a lunch date and a load of laundry .... it only took me 2 hours!!! :badpc:

Dh had a question you all may of already hit on.... We went to Costs Maya with PrincessCL.... Docked at a very commercial place. Maja-hal (sp?) Lots of shopping in rent spaces, resturant w/band and two pools, local dancers.... neat but no real beach access because of the rocks. We really liked it.... go figure... Are we docking there this time or somewhere else? Dh said he thought he read somewhere that we are a mile down the beach.

If so, does anyone know about this place? Better, worse, beach access?

We have also been there a couple of times on Princess and would imagine it is the same port but not sure.

You would think Mexico is Mexico but maybe because Cozumel is an Island it is not prone to Malaria carrying misquitos :confused3

In light of all the marathon talk, here is my 'profound' thought for my 3500th post...

The only way you'll EVER see ME run 26.2 miles is if I am being chased 26.1 miles!

And, while I'm at it, another :bday: to Ray... because he has been trying to keep his b-day 'under the radar'... he hasn't been on the boards long enough to realize that EVERY birthday gets party: around here.

Your profound post is true for me too!!! :rotfl2:

Since I'm posting pictures let me show one from last week's breakfast with Lisa.

This is why I live in Florida. When you can run over and have breakfast on the beach before school and see a sunrise like this, life is good.

Nice! Even better when you can get your daughter to get up to see a sunrise like that!!

Hmmm....let's think about this. Maybe it's because Cozumel is an island located quite a bit off the mainland of Mexico. Maybe the bugs can't fly that far! :lmao:

HAHA I had about the same thoughts!!

btw, for those following it....KT's eye pressures are down a bit...22 and 26. They took photos of her retina/optic nerve and they looked great. Next check up....6 months. :)

That is great news

So since everyone has been in a chatty mood lately I thought I would throw out a cruise related question.

Part of the DIS navigator is going to be a calendar with what ports we'll be in etc. Right now we only have the DIS meet planned for Saturday at 3pm. If there is any other planned event the group wants to have now would be the time to decide it so that we could include it in the calendar.

I know at one time we talked about doing a group photo in the atrium like we did on the 10 day. Do we still want to do that? Anyone up for organizing it and picking a day?

Any other group event?

Let the planning begin. Deadline would be the same as for the buttons - May 7th.
Great idea! I love the one we took on the Christmas 10-day cruise..

Three words: W I D E - A N G L E - L E N S!!!
