Anybody ever read the Amelia Peabody series by Elizabeth Peters? They are great! (set in Egypt, digging up mummies and mysteries!)

Whew, I did it!

One advantage on clothes and shoes, Alicia wears an 8 1/2 wide shoe, and most vintage shoes are way too dinky for her. She's really hoping to get her waist down to 26" to fit in a haul of incredible dresses I got last week. I better sell them quick!

Speaking of which, starving here. She and I are heading to breakfast/brunch at a local cafe place. Kevin is at Blue Hole. When he gets back, it will be time to head to Alicia's school recital across town. So he might not be posting today.

I need to remember to record Desparate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy. Are either of them new tonight?

Ok, took me an hour to catch up!! And where is Sir Scuba and Irene? They should have been up HOURS ago! (and I should hav been in bed!!)

Can't speak for Sir Scuba - but I was at the Scottish GAmes yesterday - all day - very hot....and that was without the wool kilt (ok - ok - let me edit, I wore "real clothes" and a wool clan scarf, not kilt - breeks instead....)

and lots and lots of bagpipes.....yippee, and beer -- weee......

I had gallbladder surgery in April of 2001. I woke up in the Recovery room to Mike crunching numbers with the DVC point charts on his lap. He said "oh, you're awake, I think we need 206 more points." I think I grunted, then I heard him on the phone calling our guide. At least that's how I remember it, and, actually, it's NOT that far from the truth!!! :)

For a while there, Kevin would greet me each day with, "so, did you buy any more points today?" He's never complained about the lodgings though! Loves OKW. I do think it's lousy that they give us worse beds than the ones they put in the deluxe resorts though. BCV beds are like sleeping on the ground.

See, this is why I don't post too much. No one else is on to chat with me. Irene, you're usually up early...

So sorry - I was sleeping --- or maybe having coffee in bed before church.

Anyone out there that still needs a tetunus shot - here is a hint....do not get one and then spend all the next day in the 90 degree sun listening to bagpipes and drinking the brew --- boy, and I sore and tired and tired and sore.

Trying to catch up at work after being out of the office on Friday and getting ready for another hetic week again....

So, I am not, I repeat NOT caught up.........but will try to do my best to boost the post count, or is that bust the post count....no, I do not want bust (well, I do, but that is another story....) :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Thought I was going to get to go eat. False alarm. Trying to remember if it ever took me 1 1/2 hours to get ready to go anywhere, especially casually dressed. Um, no.

Oops.............I noticed that after I posted........but was too tired to go back and fix it. SORRY! :guilty:

It should be a nice hotel, since it is so new. In fact, when we made our reservations, I don't think it was even completed.

Hey........A TOP!

Not a problem on the name - I'll answer to most anything anyway!! :rotfl:

I thought it would be a nice hotel, but was starting to wonder why no one else was booking there. I've always had good luck with Starwood properties. We'll have to "meet" once we get settled in.

Be warned, Amanda. Most DVC purchases are made after a stay at OKW!

Just popping in here and there. Now I'm the one who can't keep up with the thread!

Pop, Pop, me either this week,,,,,,,,,

I am watching Mythbusters right now and they are inverstigating the other uses of vodka. To help take off bandaids, eases itch of poison oak. What ever happened to just drinking it. Drink enough and those things won't hurt, right? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Cold vodka from the freezer - no more sore throat!!!!!

Thanks, everyone!!! It's a shame that the weather here today is so lousy, but I'm trying to remind myself that my grandmother used to say that rain on a birthday was a promise for a great year.

I actually heard something interesting about vodka on the radio a few weeks ago. Apparently, if you take cheap vodka and run it through a Brita filter, it comes out tasting like Grey Goose. A friend of mine told me last week that she'd tried it and it works! (Not that I drink a lot of vodka, but might be a useful tidbit of information for someone out there!)

Mixed messages anyone?!?!?!:lmao:

So what are you trying to say? I'm a little confused? I know that. It's just that I hate catching up and the last couple of days have been crazy for me and I haven't gotten on the boards too long. Am I rambling? Sorry about that. You could talk, just not too much. How's that?

Sorry it's raining. I'd have to go with what your grandma said. Play that Lotto or Megamillion. Hope you have a great day regardless.
