OK, I've been on 2 DCL cruises already, and didn't even know this was POSSIBLE! Jim (my Jim, that is) is a wine geek to the nth degree (a result of our 3 years living in Sonoma County). His specialty is finding really good wines (rated 90+) for under $20. :cool1:

On the past cruises we've gone for the premium wine package (well, last year we cancelled it becuase he couldn't drink) and been relatively happy, but if shipping's an option, he may want to send a few GOOD bottles. But isn't there a rediculously high corkage fee?

Cool!! :thumbsup2 A skill that is sought after on many levels!! Tell him he needs to share techniques!!

Sorry Sandi :guilty: I thought I was safe because it was the next morning. Didn't think about those that taped it. Please forgive me.
That's OK, Mary. I'll still watch it and enjoy it. He shouldn't have made it this far, anyway, no matter how 'cute' he is.

And a TOP with Mary and the unnamed 'cutie'!pirate:

Uncork it in your room and then fill really big wine glasses or a carafe as Mr. Scuba did. Or do as my dad did on the last cruise....buttered up the assistant server by giving him a bottle of his homemade Wildberry Shiraz and then we carried the open bottle to dinner....no questions asked....and the asst. server poured it for us each time. :)

NO! I should have stopped reading. I haven't watched it, yet. I have it recorded to watch while I'm on the treadmill the next morning...
I'm having a hard time deciding which one I like the best. Mandisa is a strong singer, I like Elliott, Katherine, Taylor, and Ace. Paris is sweet. Bucky and Kellie can go, and I'm not overly fond of Lisa. Chris just doesn't do my kind of music, but is talented, I guess.

True. True. Chris doesn't do the kind of music I listen to, but he does that kind of music well. He's a strong singer.

I'm totally over Kellie. At first her simpleness was cute, now I think she does it for attention. Every episode she finds SOMETHING to say "what's that?" Tell me a girl from the country with a hard knock life doesn't know what ballsy is....

Huh? What's ballsy??

Now she's faking the naivety, I think.

Jim, you win. That sounds even worse than where I am.

I plan on not looking back either. I'm going to really enjoy this summer, focusing on spending lots of time with Erin and enjoying myself. For Erin, this will be the first time she's not been in daycare since she was 3 months old! So we're going to make it great!

(The frozen drinks sound good too. Do you think 5 is too young to teach Erin how to use the blender?)

Take a gander at this site about jobs, you might find something to help!!

YIKES! Hope it's not banged up too severely. Hope it just needs some rest (no cooking, no laundry, no cleaning)

Yes................I hope you're OK and I would rest it..........especially since we've decided that people with immaculate homes are "dull". ;)

I'm just sitting here waiting for the solar heater guy.
(I'll be there mid to late weeK)

What does THAT mean???????

You want us to splain it to you???? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm thinking of having some things shipped ahead of time. I haven't done that before, but sounds like a great idea. I have a couple of things for DS for a surprise, felt tri-corner pirate hat and peg-legged teddy bear. Thought about sending them to Shirley at the perfect gift and having her make them into a nice gift basket for him. Also, we can't get Banfi here and would like to take a couple of bottles to enjoy on our verandah. We're flying down on the 23rd, so where can we pick some up in the Orlando or Cocoa Beach area?

For those of you staying at the port area and thinking of the meet up at JB's I just did Mapquest on it and it says that it is 72 miles and approximately 1 hour 19 minutes. Not too bad a ride. I think we are still up for it if everyone else is. Jim have you found out if they will have the Rock Shrimp at the end of May?

If they don't would it make more sense to do something more halfway between Port Canaveral and Daytona?

the website votefortheworst talks about how much Kellie is faking it, saying that she never performed before and other things that they say are lies. I'm with you, though. No one that has made it this far can be THAT naive.

Good morning cruisers!

Stacey, sorry to hear about the oopsie on your last day out there.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, tomorrow's Mary's turn, then on Saturday we'll actually go celebrate them both :)

We closed down the park tonight and managed to get some of the packing done. I had to get off my feet & am glad (I guess) that we're going home. I took a really non-graceful spill out of my "Doombuggy" early today, smashed up my knee pretty good & spent the rest of the day in a complimentary wheelchair. Oh goodie. Hurts like the dickens & may need an xray. Double oh goodie.
Love it here...especially since it was warm and sunny today, but I think I've had all the Happy I can have. See ya later......
Happy Birthday Mark!!!
Stacey, it's supposed to be the happiest place on earth! Take care. It will be good to have you back posting again. Safe travels.

The kids received an ice cream maker ball from REI as a Christmas present. You load up the container and then roll it around for ice cream - wonder if it would work for frozen drinks... :confused3 hmm - might have to have an experiment...

Several months ago I interviewed with a guy who didn't know what grade his kids were in. I quit my job at the library to go to work for him. I stayed and finished the first week, then went back to the library! It's hard to believe that some people don't value the important things in life.:grouphug:

Some people just have a different list of priorities. I'm not saying anything is wrong with that, but just glad that me and my hubby are on the same page with our priorities. Family comes first. I'll tell you a little story...

Almost 4 years ago a very good friend and fellow union plumber of my DH's was killed on the jobsite. He was 40 years old, 2 young boys and a great wife and family. All gone in an instant. You realize in a hurry your own mortality and things in your life get put into perspective. IT'S JUST A JOB! Now, my DH doesn't hesitate to spend time with family and MAKE time for his kids. Our way of living has also changed. Not saying we live beyond our means, but we live life to it's fullest, hence Carpe Diem (seize the day).

Now go out and make it a great day people!!!! That's all I'm going to say about that....:sunny:
