I saw that, too. I always notice cool numbers. Like when the grocery bill comes out to an even number. My Equinox just turned over 6000 miles. Haven't driven it since!

It's fun to hear how people met.

DH and I met at a Christian singles retreat. I had been a single mom for around 5 years with no break and was going to a singles group at church. I thought it would be a nice weekend away from my girls. Eighty miles away, DH decided at the last minute to attend same singles retreat. Retreat was held at church camp that was about 1/2 way from each of our homes. After the retreat was over I sent out a couple of 'it was nice to meet you' cards. He sent a card back, then called, then I couldn't get rid of him so we got married 13 years ago in June.

OK, I guess it's MY turn....

Augie and I met on a blind date. Actually we were fixed up by his aunt who I used to work with. She comes up to me one day saying that she saw her nephew and he's looking for "a nice girl", ha and we seem to have a lot in common and would I like to meet him. He was 30 years old, 6'2" with blue eyes, lived home with his parents and was a plumber. I figured he had glasses with a Band-aid around the middle or something. I had just broke up with someone and said NO. Then I thought about it and reconsidered. What the hey!!! So they give him my number and tell him that I had blonde hair and big bazooms. THAT did it for him. We met outside this bar and I was late, he almost left!! He had just had an accident with his truck and was driving a rental car, looked like rent-a-reck if you ask me. He talked ALL night. He asked me out to dinner that weekend and the rest is history. That was in May '92. We got engaged for Christmas that year and married Sept. '93. How's that for quick? Hey, he was 32 and I was 29 when we married. Did pretty much what we wanted to in our single life and were ready to settle down. OH, BTW - his aunt also fixed up her sister and her husband years before.

Last year on of my co-workers went to Florida and was obsessed with seeing the manatees -- to the point of calling out there every few days to confirm that the manatees were around -- finding out were the best spots and times were etc..........

While he was gone we put this up as his computer backgound -- told him he was so obsessed he was turning into one!!

John with a June 17 birthday.
His version - we met June 17, 1967 - almost slept together on our first meeting we were born a day apart at the same hospital - but, weighing in at a mere 2lbs 10oz - I was nowhere near the regular nursery...

Jay's birthday is June 17th, also. Although he's just a hair older than John. Jay graduated HIGH SCHOOL in 1968! Yes...he roobed the cradle when he married me. He'll say something about going out and finding himself a new, younger wife, and I have to tell him that I WAS the younger wife.

Jared will KILL me for this one....he had a sports physical for the Track team on Wednesday. Near the end of the exam the doc asked me to step out of the room. As I shut the door I heard the doc tell Jared to drop his drawers. My baby had his first "Turn your head and cough" exam!! Now I know I am getting old.
