Well-- I received my refund from the IRS on Friday (YEAHH), now I have to get it into a savings account before I spend it.

Yea!! Drinks are on Pam!!!

Our refunds showed up late last week too.
Already spent them.

Just like when Mike hands me his paycheck every two weeks and I say "I already spent it." ;) Usually that means, by the next paycheck it will be gone. But not always. :(

 Hi, everyone!!!

I'm back from Michigan. A bit on the COLD side, but now that I've left - supposed to be warming up!!! (figures!)

Well, y'all have certainly lived up to the name - *Blabbermouths* :lmao:

60 pages while I was gone :thumbsup2 No way I'll have time to read them all!

Thanks, Angie, for the updates. :goodvibes

Stacey, great to see you back in color - that font & color are so "you"!! :woohoo:

Pam, I printed off the order form and will get it in the mail to you in a day or 2.

My computer's really slow - something's not right - so if I disappear again, it will be because of "computer problems". I've had enough of them recently :badpc:

Did you get to see the Naked Cowboy?
You mean this guy???

Nope... didn't see him... but this is pretty cool... from the BikeWeek parade...

Stacey, I was reading what you said about your Dad, and I thought about Kevin's Mom. She has always been a story repeater, and I've known her almost 20 years now. She's not showing any signs of Alzheimer's though. And then I thought about how I tend to tell the same stories to people, forgetting that I've already told them. Oh noooooo. But I still don't think it means Alzheimers. Isn't Alzheimer's more when you forget the stories? And forget who the person is that you're telling them to?

Ugh. I hate that. I always complain about that too and my parents say "the more you ride the more calloused your bottom gets....it'll get better."

I'm sorry, but the idea of a huge callous on my behind isn't that comforting.

This coming from the people who rode their bikes from Cleveland to Columbus about 7 yrs ago (my dad was 64, my mom was 61!!!!) They said they were going to bike down to visit and I told them they'd better plan on biking home b/c I wasn't driving them home!!!! :) :lmao:

Wow, they sure must be fit and it has been sore all day.

Yeah, if repeating stories is a problem, then I'm in trouble!! I have a really bad memory. I'll be telling someone a story and they'll say "I know, I was there, remember?" uh...no.

Mike's grandma has it bad. On Christmas Eve she leaned over to her daughter and pointed around the room and said "Do you know any of these people that are here? Who are they?" uh...grandma...your kids and grandkids and great grandkids. It's just so sad to see her. In her glory days she was a tightrope walker or a trapeeze artist (I mix up Mike's grandma and grandpa....one was one, the other the other) Yes, Mike comes from circus people. I did NOT know that before we married!!!

FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought he was the NAKED cowboy!!!!

Ok, Ok, I MUST get the picture from my dad of the guy we saw in St. Martin. Hopefully he'll be able to email it to me. (this is technologically out of his realm of understanding, but I'll try)

Just now finishing up the taxes, so I can take them to the accountant today. I realized I had thrown away something important...and after looking everywhere for it, I now have to put gloves on and dig through the trash compactor. :crazy2:

And even an unexpected T.O.P. doesn't make me too excited to do that.

I accidentally put a tax doc in the recycle, of course it was Jeanne's. I figured the government wouldn't put her in prison (sifted thru lots of paper to find it, just in case). Just glad it wasn't yukky!!!!

Update from one of my November cruisers on Cozumel - since I do not know how to link a thread, I will cut and paste

Just back from my 4 day cruise. Cozumel is in ok shape. We spent 2 hours with a local taxi driver riding around the island looking at what is open and how the island looks.
A few of the beaches are in pretty good condition - Paradise Beach is in excellent shape and it's free to get it! The snorkeling and diving was "amazing" from what the people that did it told me.
In town, the main shopping area is pretty much back to normal.
Most of the hotels are still closed - a few have just recently (like in the past 3 weeks) reopened. Parts of roads are totally wiped out - the docks are pretty much under water and not expected to be rebuilt for at least a year. We saw no one even working on them when we were there - and as the local guy said, everything is slow to get fixed. In his opinion, they are in better shape than the mainland - he said the Cancun area is filled with a lot of crime - he won't even take the ferry over there anymore.
The people of Cozumel are desperate for visitors to start filling the streets again. They said a "good" day used to consist of 7-10 ships in port - now a good day is 4. There were only 2 when we were there on Saturday - and they said some days they only have 1.
Tendering was easy - took quite a while to fill up the ferry from the ship to shore, but the way back was fast.

I edited her last line -----she said it was a good day trip.

Wow...that is great! I don't think I could make it to the end of the driveway. And it's always my butt that hurts. As padded as it is, that seems so unlikely.

I just said it was my weight pushing my but down on that little seat - enough to make it hurt big time. :rotfl:

Even Jack Nicholson was surprised. That was a good one, and no outrageous dresses this year....except at the end, the gal involved with Crash...in the salmon dress...she almost lost the top of it!

I didn't see the movie (Walk The Line) but just from the clips, you could tell that Joaquin did a good job. He's talented, and it often makes me wonder if River would have grown as an actor, also. Such a shame.

I'm heading to eBay.....need to find a peasant blouse. I've been working on making my pirate dress work, but I give up. Just going to buy the top, instead of making one.

I decided yesterday to do some Pirate designs to print on T-shirts for us the wear, I'm not a big one on dressing up so just thought that and accessories would work.

Thank you for telling me that. I know we can be in denial about our own parents, but after seeing Jay's dad and knowing what Alzheimer's was like, I didn't think my Dad was headed there......I guess I'm just over-sensitive to it and worried. Perhaps I will kick back and wait a while before stirring the pot. :stir:

Thanks for all the PD and prayers. I have dreaded the day when I have to sit down and discuss moving with your Mother --- (the opposite side of the conversation you'all posted about with daughters (mermaid movie)....anyway, I had hoped we would never need to have this discussion and she could stay in her home forever....it is looking like that might not be possible...and there is no real interening medical reason, like a fall, that might push the issue forward. That is what is so sad, in a way.....depressing too.....I won't post what lead up to this, sufficie it to say, we discovered it this weekend. If I cannot sleep, I can't imagine what she is going through......

Just downloading an article about talking to aging parents about a life style move!!!!

It is hard, my parents moved here from SA 5 years ago and that was really stressful for them especially my mom, it took a lot of convincing for them to buy a townhouse instead of a house and now they realize it was good. I tend to take them for granted and dad at 73 is still working and helps a lot with the kids.

Wow...the Boards are really slow today. And we are not Blabbering. Everyone must be working.

I found it. I had to dig down about halfway....which was back to Thursday's garbage. Luckily, it was in an envelope, so it wasn't all yucky. But I made a copy of the one to send to the accountant. It smelled. The little dog was pretty intrigued by what I was doing. I think he thought he was going to get a treat out of there. Ick!!

And we always have to pay (big time) so we like to wait until the last possible moment, to keep our money in our own account as long as possible.
I figured out at one point that we take care of four welfare families. Don't start me on how I feel about that.

Edited to add: I am, however, VERY grateful to live in the United States. It's still the best country in the world!

Isn't it sad we pay and pay and pay some more and then come April they 'hit' us again!!!
Last year DH paid one of the tax things, not sure for what, of course a cuple of months went by and they sent another bill saying he hadn't paid it, he said he had but he paid it again to avoid more interest and penalties etc etc, about a month ago he got a check in the mail saying he had paid it twice - duh!!!!
