Oh wow. And she's ELEVEN? Oh yeah, you're in trouble... LOL

Yep... and she'll be 12 in 3 weeks... if I let her live that long.

OH that's pretty close to the same age as my daughter! She just turned 12 a couple of weeks ago.

Hey guys. Congrats to Virgil and Maria on the Steelers win. Sorry, but I just have not been into this game much. Ashley and I got home around 6 from the swim meet. Not her best meet, but okay. Had to do a couple of loads of wash and start getting things ready for tomorrow (ugh).

Good point. Or wait until he talks you into buying an iPod, and within a year you end up with FOUR!!! Thx, Virgil!
Are those what you call: "Unintended consequences"???

Shelly - great family picture! Your kids look so cute.

Stacey - I like your new family photo too. I probably should put a new picture of us up, but I look better in the older one.

Ashley has a friend at school that walks her to the bus everyday. She knows she can only be friends at this stage.

Karen - I think you posted about being teased about being too thin when you were in elementary. Ashley really got a lot of that when she was younger. She still does, but it doesn't seem to be as bad as it was when she was in 3rd grade.

When I took her to the doctor last week, in her shoes, she weighed 72 pounds and is 5'1" tall. I think both kids are going to be tall. DJ is 15 and is 6 foot with a size 12 shoe.

For those of you who missed it, they are all on 'the website' (don't want to get the mods mad by posting the site here...bud I'm sure you are wiser and can figure it out)... the 'Streaker' one is actually called "Super Fan".

Personally, I'm partial to the 'other' Clydesdale spot. (I've watched all of these about 100 times this week.)

:thumbsup2 on the commercials...

got a question for you, HH....

After reading this thread:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1021053&highlight=insulation

I got to thinking about insulation. Our upstairs is pretty cold (doesn't heat rise?) Now, part of it could be that sometimes we have our heat 'n glo on and it is in the same room as our thermostat, so therefore it shuts off the heat pump and forced air is not being...well, FORCED, upstairs.

But even when the heat 'n glo ISN'T on, the upstairs is quite chilly. KT's room, in particular, is just downright cold (doesn't help it's the corner room on the windiest side of the house.)

But, I'm wondering if insulation "wears out." The house we live in was built in the 70's. Chances are, no other owner did anything about anything in the attic (it's a scary place) So, could it be possible that we need to have some more insulation blown in there?

Hmmmmmm....
Depends on the insulation. Most fiberglass batts will stay in place for their lifetime. Cellulose tends to compact and will lose some heat holding capacity as it compacts. The biggest problem most homes have is air infiltration. Under wall plates, around doors and windows and at other penetrations in the "skin" of the home. If there is access to the attic, then an addition of 6"-8" of insulation will help. Don't forget to seal around the doors, windows and other holes....

I was bored when the game first started, so I was playing with my pictures.

The one that Mary has up now is almost a year old, it was taken on the Mexican Riviera cruise. I guess I could dig out the pictures from the NCL cruise in December....but I doubt if I'd like any of them. I never like any picture that has ME in it.

Can you hop on a plane and come fix our furnace??? We just had a guy here a month or so ago.....and now something else isn't working. I voted LAST time to just buy a new one.....:sad2:

WOW a T.O.P. with HH !!!

I thought I'd take a nap instead....so I found a cozy spot...(notice the "Scarlet and Grey" fleece! These guys LOVE OSU...and I'll admit, they ARE the best team!)

This sound suspiciously like "creme washing" to me. After all, it can't be brain washing with a cone head.......

Me neither Stacey. I must be the most unphotogenic person alive. I like to buy the pictures with just my kids.

We probably are just too hard on ourselves. But I swear, I don't see the FOUR chins when I look in the mirror...only in pictures!

Wow, we watched the whole game this year, it wasn't too bad. Well, I watched it and did Suduko. But Grey's Anatomy got my full attention!

I bought a huge wild lobster tail at Costco today, it weighed in at 1 1/2 pounds. We had it for dinner, what a treat! I think Alicia likes lobster now. The only other time she had it was on our last cruise and it was dry, she didn't care for it. Now she'll be ordering surf n' turf when we go out.

Congrats to the Steeler Fans!

Cute Disney commercial just on.

We're back from the Superbowl party at Mike's dad's house. Good game. Good team won (I was rooting for them b/c the ppl who watched the kids while Mike was in the ER were Steeler's fans....and since I don't have a favorite NFL team I told them I'd root for their team)

Anyway, after that commercial was over, Mike's step mom said "I wonder how much Disney had to pay for THAT commercial!!!"

To which I said..."This is ABC, Disney OWNS ABC, the commercial was probably free."

Everyone agreed! :)

He watched Grey's Anatomy too, Stacey. I'm sure he'll answer soon. But I'm warning you, he's expensive! You might have to pay him in Port.

Aw thanks. I think they are pretty darn cute but I'm like. totally. biased.
LOL
I'm the same was as you posted later on btw... I usually only buy VERY few of the photos of all of us and bunches of the ones of the kids together and individually. What's really sad is that I think I look awful even in that picture and think I look even worse now! Gained some weight, hair all dark (now my natural color- don't know what happened to the natural bonde I used to be), etc. I really need to get my butt in gear and lose the weight again.... but I keep cheating! ugh

As for skinny DD's.... I wouldn't call Ruby SKINNY but apparently compared to the majority of other kids she is. She really isn't rail thin (but I'd kill... okay ALMOST kill... for her flat stomach! I don't think mine was ever that flat or atleast I don't remember it LOL) -she has her mom's bubble butt (which I had even when I weighed 95lbs in highschool LOL) and she has muscular thighs just like me- and she's athletic. So I'd say she has a thin athletic build. But she gets teased also that she's "skinny". That's in 6th grade though..
I told her they are just jealous... same as them teasing her about her glasses (That she doesn't have to wear all the time- only in class when needing to see detail which is why you don't see her with glasses in the picture btw). Jealous of her styling glasses and jealous of her bod- period. LOL Well I'm jealous... that's all I can say. LOL

Ps. it's really getting weird how she's almost as tall as me. You can't tell the in picture because they always cram you all and put you on things, sit down/etc. to get you all in the picture. But she's almost as tall as me and quite a bit taller than my son. She's NOT tall though.. I'm just really short. LOL I'm shorter than Jeff than it shows in that picture too... had me standing on a little stool thing. LOL The picture is deceiving of our heights- that's for sure. LOL
