Grrr, just lost my reply...
retyping...

ok, a friend of ours used to sing this song like this "city side walk, city side walk, city side walk, side walk. city side walk city side walk side walk."

And then my other Christmas botch job...when we had our old cat we sang Carol of the Bells this way (with associated hand movments) "smooth out your fur, mess up your fur, smooth out your fur, smooth out your fur, messsss uuuppppp yooouuurrr fuuurrr, messss uuuupppp yooouuurrr furrr, mess up your fur, smooth out your fur, mess up your fur, smooth out your fur..."

Mowana is NOT liking that Christmas carol this year.

Wow! Y'all are good! I knew I wouldn't stump you for long...I'll put the answers to 32 & 35 in White just in case you're still trying to figure them out...

32...Way up north North where the air gets cold (Little St. Nick by Beach boys)

35...Candles in the Window Shadows Painting the Ceiling - "Somewhere in my memory" - Bette Midler from Home Alone 2...

I didn't get nearly that many... :worship:

First, let me preface this by reminding you all that I have been sick.....okay??
And my mind has been preoccupied with packing, and having our Christmas early, okay??
Did I mention that I'd been sick???

Okay???

I stared at the list that Monica posted for a good half hour.

I thought it was a WORD SCRAMBLE! :blush: :o

Megan and Pete did come over tonight for our Christmas with them, and we had a great time. Poor Megan was feeling pretty pitiful, though. Such a nasty bug this is.

Heading for bed now. G'night all!!

Twas a couple of days before Christmas and all through the house I'm the only creature stirring just waiting to hit the road.

No stockings were hung by the chimney with care because we are out of here.

You get the idea....the car is packed and I'm just waiting for 4 am when I can wake them up and we can go. The last little bit of Kevin's coffee is in the pot so I am wired to drive.

Everyone have a great weekend. Enjoy your families and the holiday.

Remember....good wine makes the holidays seem a lot better. :banana:

Does Sir Scuba EVER sleep???

Good morning everyone! I have to work today. Bruce is off. The girls will be home with us today as there won't be many kids at day care today. I told them that they could open 1 present today that is under the tree from one of the relatives.

Bruce asked last night how much was too much to spend on me for a present. We'll see what he gets. He said that it won't be jewelry. Guess he'll be out shopping today.

It's supposed to warm up nicely in to the 50s today. So I need to get my behind out there and go walking for 30 min.

Great minds think alike even when they are wrong, that was my first thought. I cheated and keept reading posts or I would still be staring....

Good Morning - and pre- Christmas Eve - It is a beautiful day! We had a glorious night - perfect for standing around the fire at our neighborhood party. Lots of champagne, beer, and white grape juice (kids). No wine, we had wine but it went un-opened.

So, I show up at Publix around 5:00 to pick up party sandwich platters - uh, what order - there is no order, they cannot find the order, I have no food....fast forward
they found it for Thursday December 24th....fast forward......
The deli manager was great even though she had been working since 4 am.
She pulled 3 staff and all four worked on my platters which were presented to me for no charge and I made it home before the guests arrived.

We had a great time, and the candy was delicious by the way.....

Prob. only a half day of work for me today. Sam had to wake up at 3 am. Not sure why he even went to bed, as we we up late. My idea of everyone leaving at 9 did not work, too much fun...Christmas is such a nice time.....

Jolly Old Saint Nicholas

Jolly old Saint Nicholas,
Lean your ear this way!
Don't you tell a single soul
What I'm going to say;
Christmas Eve is coming soon;
Now, you dear old man,
Whisper what you'll bring to me;
Tell me if you can.
When the clock is striking twelve,
When I'm fast asleep,
Down the chimney broad and black,
With your pack you'll creep;
All the stockings you will find
Hanging in a row;
Mine will be the shortest one,
You'll be sure to know.
Johnny wants a pair of skates;
Susy wants a dolly;
Nellie wants a story book;
She thinks dolls are folly;
As for me, my little brain
Isn't very bright;
Choose for me, old Santa Claus,
What you think is right.

Irene, glad that you had a nice party and Publix came through for you.

We've been watching the old Christmas shows on ABC family every night ... you know the ones that we all grew up with. Emily has been enjoying them.

Oh ... March of the Penguins ... Emily watched it at school yesterday. I was surprised after many of you posted how disturbing (sad) parts could be. I asked her if anything made her sad and she said one part where the eagle took the baby penguin. I told her that we'd have to rent it and watch it together. They also watched the old Willly Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. That comes on ABC family tonight. Now I'm wondering ... why did they even have school yesterday? They watched 2 movies!

I looked and looked, but didn't see my favorite Christmas carol.....

I'm gettin' nuthin' for Christmas!

Broke my bat on Johnny's head;
Somebody snitched on me.
I hid a frog in sister's bed;
Somebody snitched on me.

I spilled some ink on Mommy's rug;
I made Tommy eat a bug;
Bought some gum with a penny slug;
Somebody snitched on me.

CHORUS
Oh, I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas
Mommy and Daddy are mad.
I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas
'Cause I ain't been nuttin' but bad.

I won't be seeing Santa Claus;
Somebody snitched on me.
He won't come visit me because
Somebody snitched on me.

Next year I'll be going straight;
Next year I'll be good, just wait
I'd start now, but it's too late;
Somebody snitched on me.

So you better be good whatever you do
'Cause if you're bad, I'm warning you,
You'll get nuttin' for Christmas.

Thanks for the reminder (like I needed it...)

Mom can drink her screw-top wine while the rest of us crack open the Banfi. (thanks again, btw... just haven't had time to sit down and enjoy it!)

Should be a quiet day here at work for me... we're here all day- that is, the 3 of us who are actually in the office. Today is one of the busiest of the year for our guys... who will work tomorrow and Monday as well... no rest for the weary or wicked.

Still not done with my wrapping, and still praying the Disneyshopping will get my order to me... this is now the 4th order in a row they've messed up... why do I keep ordering from them??????

MAJOR HOLIDAY MERGER ANNOUNCED

Continuing the current trend of large-scale mergers and acquisitions, It was announced today at a press conference that Christmas and Chanukah will merge. An industry source said that the deal had been in the works for about 1300 years, ever since the rise of the Muslim Empire.

While details were not available at press time, it is believed that the overhead cost of having twelve days of Christmas and eight days of Chanukah was becoming prohibitive for both sides. By combining forces, we're told, the world will be able to enjoy consistently high-quality service during the Fifteen Days of Christmukah, as the new holiday is being called.

Massive layoffs are expected, with lords a-leaping and maids a-milking being the hardest hit. As part of the conditions of the agreement, the letters on the dreydl, currently in Hebrew, will be replaced by Latin, thus becoming unintelligible to a wider audience. Also, instead of translating to "A great miracle happened there," the message on the dreydl will be the more generic "Miraculous stuff happens." In exchange, it is believed that Jews will be allowed to use Santa Claus and his vast merchandising resources for buying and delivering their gifts.

In fact, one of the sticking points holding up the agreement for at least three hundred years was the question of whether Jewish children could leave milk and cookies for Santa even after having eaten meat for dinner. A breakthrough came last year, when Oreos were finally declared to be Kosher. All sides appeared content with this decision.

A spokesman for Christmas, Inc., declined to say whether a takeover of Kwanzaa might not be in the works as well. He merely pointed out that, were it not for the independent existence of Kwanzaa, the merger between Christmas and Chanukah might indeed be seen as an unfair cornering of the holiday market. Fortunately for all concerned, he said, Kwanzaa will help to maintain the competitive balance.

He then closed the press conference by leading all present in a rousing rendition of "Oy, Come All Ye Faithful."
