Angie, I was sure that Stacey would chime in on the Mom thing. I've missed out on my Mom driving me crazy over the way I'm raising my kid (and I'm sure she would have), because she died when Alicia was a newborn. I know she would have been a great Grandma though.

Stacey, I don't see any Banfi in that picture? That's OK, you've got home delivery!

Kiki, do you have a guest wing in your new house? No matter how much you love your relatives, three months is a long time!

Ang - How long will they be with you?

My sister just called, Emmy is sick and can I come over early today. Of course I will but I wonder what sickness I am going to catch! Before I retired I had rarely gotten sick, maybe just a sniffle or two. Since I started watching Nick and Emmy, I have had the flu (or something similiar) twice, really TERRIBLE colds and sore throat.

Sue

It's all those new germs, Sue! I guess you can't have a developed immunity to germs you've never met before.

We are very lucky, aside from my assorted strange allergies, the three of us hardly ever get sick.

No, not a guest 'wing', but 2 extra bedrooms... besides, my bedroom is on the opposite side of the house of all the others, and has its own sliders out to the pool... so I can get away from everyone. 3300 sq ft should be enough for 6 of us to live in... at one point when I was in college, we had 9 of us under one MUCH smaller roof, and we survived... so we've got plenty of space.

My parents will 'float' around the state while they're here, too... they have friends scattered thoroughout FL in the winter, and plan on spending a few days here and there.

I never spent more time being sick than the 2 years that I worked the Rx counter at the pharmacy... talk about dealing with non-stop germs!!!! The only consolation was the pharmacists would give us whatever we needed to get us healthy again... after all, they didn't want US to miss work!!!!

Didn't sleep with the heat on last night but turned it on this a.m. to get the chill out of the house. We started smelling an electrical smell so turned it off. Now nothing will come on - not even the a/c. Put a call in to the heating & air folks that we used last year. Hopefully they can come out in the next few days. Temps are supposed to drop again at the end of the week. We have space heaters in the girls room so we should be fine for a while. Bruce & I will just have to bundle up in lots of blankies. My parents are in the bonus room & it's on it's own unit.

What a DRAG!! These things never happen at a "good time" do they?

Not to change the subject...but what has the weather been like lately for WDW? Just thinking about packing, believe it or not and was wondering if tank tops are too cold? Better off with T-shirts and shorts? How about socks? Sandals, OK? A little help from my Floridian friends.

Thanks.

Maria

Well, we just got the word on hubby's vacation. We will be able to make the cruise, however, he is going to have to come home early. I couldn't find him a flight on Sunday, so they will let him stay through Monday. The kids and I will have to take him to the airport Monday morning and then we will stay the remainder of the week while he goes back to work.

Needless to say, he is not happy at this point. I had to pay the $50 change fee to Delta to change the FF ticket. I was just glad I found one without having to pay more miles. Since the majority of the time it will be just me and the kids, I have changed my resv. from a 1 BR at BWV to a studio at BCV. That way we can check in there on Saturday and not move until I check out the following Saturday. Of course I much prefer the 1 br, but it will just have to do. At least we will be at the BCV, which I love for its convenience.

Pam, if you want to take the car back, you can probably use Magical Express. We used it on arrival in August and it was very easy. A dear friend took us back to the airport, so can't comment on return rides, but your DH could take it to the airport. Unless, of course, that would be adding insult to injury.

Maria, the weather has been beautiful here! Temperatures in the 60's at night with high's in the low-mid 80's during the day. The most recent forecast I saw shows that it will be a little cooler this weekend with low's in the mid-high 50's and daytime temps in the 70's. You just have to love Florida fall weather! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Nah...everyone has heard me whine enough about Mom. We DO have some good times. Honest.
And the funny thing is, yesterday when Megan called me about her car....right after she hung up, what do you suppose I did? Called my Mom! LOL
So don't ever believe half of my complaints about her.

This is our barefoot casual picture like the one Amanda had done. Not the greatest, but then, I didn't like any picture that had ME in it!

Knock knock! Anybody home???

Here's what I've been dealing with today besides school: (copy and pasted from another thread b/c I have to leave for rehearsal in 10 minutes)

Here's an update....remember the cat that wandered into our yard?? The declawed, neutered, friendly Maine Coon? Well, the shelter called yesterday and they had a spot for him....finally!! Since it's getting cold here and he was NOT liking staying outside, we decided we should take him and let the shelter find him a home. It is a No-kill shelter (hence the long waiting list to get him in) and they said they WOULD adopt him out on two conditions....he had to be adoptable---meaning he couldn't be vicious, and #2, he had to test negative for FIV (cat version of HIV)

Well, they called today to tell us he tested positive and they had no choice but to put him down. He wasn't MY cat...just a stray we took care of for awhile, but I do feel bad because yesterday he was here, out hunting and being pet by us when we went outside. Today, he's going to be put down. :(

Now, the question is....what do we do with our outdoor cat who tested negative when we picked him up from the shelter in 1998, but was never vaccinated and has been living outside since 2000? He's been exposed to lots of strays and now this one who we KNOW is positive.....so what to do. If we go to the vet and he tests negative, well, we'd have to deal with that. He's big and healthy now and doesn't seem ill at all, but could possibly be contagious to other cats who come around. Hmmmmmmmmm......

Ohminnie....I'd say just "chance it" with your cat...chances are, he didn't catch FIV from the stray, so why put him through the trauma of the vet's office and the tests?
If it were me, I'd just keep a good eye on him for weight loss and such.

Stacey, I just go around to checking out your pictures. The comments about Jay wearing a shade was just to much for me.

Nice suite. I hope our Radisson suite in two weeks is just as nice.

Can I tell you how HAPPY I am that FOOTBALL SEASON IS OVER!!!!!!!! We actually had dinner as a family tonight, then hung out in the pool... life at home... what a concept!!
