Stacey, I just go around to checking out your pictures. The comments about Jay wearing a shade was just to much for me.

Nice suite. I hope our Radisson suite in two weeks is just as nice.
You know Jay, Always up for a party!!!

Personally, I HATE when that happens!!! :rotfl2:

Thank you for the laugh, helped me remember the picture of you as Buckthorn Varlett ( not sure about the spelling).

Diana you are right about not being exposed to germs. In my work group only one woman had children. Poor Emmy has strep throat, but seemed better today. Just wish I had remembered she was sick before we shared a bottle of water!

Stacey, I think your lifestyle picture is great! You guys look good.

So Kiki, you got a whole night at home, and noone had to go anywhere? That's radical! It doesn't happen often around here either.

Princess has a ship's videographer, too....she went around with a camera taping all kinds of things. I bought the video, but haven't watched it yet. She was at the Halloween Disco Dance, and shot Jay & I doing the "YMCA". I was wearing one of the crew members' police hat. I guess he was one of the Village People.
But Jay, yeah...he's a party animal, alrighty!

Jim....I'm sure your stateroom will be just as nice, most likely a whole lot nicer. And I can guarantee you that your food will be better. Princess needs a new chef. No presentation whatsoever. And the servers have no personality.

Good Morning Cruisers.....

This is not how I imagined the excitment of our first 7 day cruise - but things are looking up. hurricane recovery is almost completed -- now it just looks like we are competing for the most untidy garden in the area - of course, we have lots of company. The roof will hold - looks ugly but it is waterproof. The vet's office just got power so we can board the problem cat. Work, is another story - everything is coming to a head - and the lack of the one week for the storm is stressing us all out.....oh well...

Read the stories about Mothers and MILs --- have my own to ad right now, but won't - will chalk it up to Wilma....

Will catch up with posts and see what great stories you have to tell this morning.....

Here's what I've been dealing with today besides school: (copy and pasted from another thread b/c I have to leave for rehearsal in 10 minutes)

Here's an update....remember the cat that wandered into our yard?? The declawed, neutered, friendly Maine Coon? Well, the shelter called yesterday and they had a spot for him....finally!! Since it's getting cold here and he was NOT liking staying outside, we decided we should take him and let the shelter find him a home. It is a No-kill shelter (hence the long waiting list to get him in) and they said they WOULD adopt him out on two conditions....he had to be adoptable---meaning he couldn't be vicious, and #2, he had to test negative for FIV (cat version of HIV)

Well, they called today to tell us he tested positive and they had no choice but to put him down. He wasn't MY cat...just a stray we took care of for awhile, but I do feel bad because yesterday he was here, out hunting and being pet by us when we went outside. Today, he's going to be put down. :(

Now, the question is....what do we do with our outdoor cat who tested negative when we picked him up from the shelter in 1998, but was never vaccinated and has been living outside since 2000? He's been exposed to lots of strays and now this one who we KNOW is positive.....so what to do. If we go to the vet and he tests negative, well, we'd have to deal with that. He's big and healthy now and doesn't seem ill at all, but could possibly be contagious to other cats who come around. Hmmmmmmmmm......

I'm a cat lover so this one is hard. Sorry about your little stray - esp. after you tried so hard.

Do you have any indoor cats - if so, then you may wish to ask your vet if it is possilbe that FIV can be passed through the two cats being on either side of a screen door, for instance. If so, then either - take the inside cate to be tested and receive the annual vaccine - and/or the outside cat as well.

I would recommend if you go to the expense of the test - to have the cat(s) vacinated. Mine is - and he started as an outside stray - He is now and indoor/outdoor loverboy

Sue - I am with the no-kids group and will catch anything at a kids B-day party - to the extent I decline invitations that come-up right before important events. Never attended one of those when I was not sick in 2-3 days. It wasn't as bad when I had a job that exposed me to more adults with kids, but in a smaller office, I guess I am protected.....

CRUISE LAERT - CRUISE ALERT - CRUISE ALERT

Who needs what from the Magic - for gifts, stocking stuffers - or what?

How much shampoo do DH and I need to steal - I mean use to keep us pretty and neat?

What about luggage tags?

Any other requests - pins???

Let me know......Thanks....

LAST CALL -- LAST CALL - LAST CALL

We now return to our normal posting fluff.

Thanks. Yes, we have a kitten we got in July (who was also a stray) We had him tested and he got the vaccine--one in mid July, one in early August. They said he was good to go until next August. I'm hoping the vaccine "took" before the two of them rubbed noses across a screen---probably was mid-late August sometime.

Yeah, I learned my lesson the hard way on this one. Stupid me took the kids to a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheeses 3 days before a ski trip. First full day of the trip, ds pukes all over the table during lunch at the lodge. He's down for two days. Finally we have a good day and everyone skiis....next day dd starts puking (luckily not all over the table in the lodge) Let's just say I got a LOT of cross stitching done that week!!

And actually, I think its the same deal tonight... 2 nights in a row... WOW. (If I get home from my board meeting on time...) But then, the weekend gets here, and all hell breaks loose again!! I still can't believe we haven't made it to F&W yet, and we won't!!!!! Boo hoo!!!

DS is still home from school today and will probably miss tomorrow, also. I don't remember him ever being this sick with strep before. He's still running a low fever. Except for a grilled cheese sandwich yesterday, he's only had a little bit of ice cream since Saturday. This is the first time in 3 years that he's missed school, too.

Hope everyone has a happy hump-day.
