Good morning all. Heating and air people were already out this morning. An electrical board is fried so they will replace. The guy said $285 ... not sure if that includes labor or the $115 service call fee. Probably neither. But that's all better than a whole new unit.

Irene, hope you get to chill a little before your cruise.

Looks like we'll be missing dinner the night before. We've decided to fly in Friday night as opposed to driving.

Jim/Sharon (or anyone else who is driving over). Would you be willing to accept the buttons via UPS and drive them to the port for us? It would certainly save us the hassle of trying to go through airport security with 100 some metal buttons. :)

Sandi - Sorry about your DS, Emmy has bounced back quickly and went to school this am.

Ang - We need heat for Jeanne (senior bones) and ac for me (over weight and over 50). Just had maintenance done on our heat pump.

Mary, I'm willing but doubt that we'll get to the port as early as the Scubas. Emily's last day of school is on Fri. so at best we'll be driving 1/2 way Fri. night then the rest Sat. morning. If no one else accepts, I'll do it.

Went to DCL site this morning. There are only 4 cat 8 staterooms available. Looks like we'll be sailing on a full ship!

Angie,

I looked a couple of weeks ago and there weren't any cat. 6's left. That tells me, too that it will be a full boat. Better get to the kids clubs fast. Do they fill up fast? I guess Palo is out of the question. I am not a returning cruiser, nor a Castaway Cay member so that puts me at the end of the list.

Maria

Mary, we can help the Scubas with the box, since we will see them the night before. But what happens when we get to the port? We don't want to check it, right? Do we give it to Lisa? :rotfl2:

We sailed on the Magic when it was "full" - not to worry!! I don't think you'll have any problem with the kids club - DCL has lots of experience with this and I believe they have a system in place that pretty much assures there won't be "too many kids onboard"!!!

As far as Palos, we're planning to book at 90 days out and were thinking that since it's just we two, we'd invite another couple - it would be nice to have another couple along!

We'll be in the same "boat" as you (pun intended). We 1st time cruisers as well. I'm hoping to get Palo reservations too. I was going to do the REAS package but since that has changed to not include the massage, we won't be doing that.

$400 to fix the heat (includes part, labor & service call fee). I can't complain too much. I'm glad that I lucked up on these folks last time we had a/c problems. When it was the a/c, we had one company tell us we had to replace the compressor so I called them to get a 2nd opinion. They fixed it for under $200. They seem to be very honest people.

Good Morning!

Getting closer and closer to being "caught up". I have the last two loads of laundry in the wash...all towels! I've never seen so many dirty towels. But then, I don't go for that long without doing laundry. Jordan was supposed to be home at least some of the time to do the laundry...and didn't. Can't complain, though, because the house was in great shape and all was well.

She had her first cheer competition last Saturday (there's one every Saturday for a while) and both Varsity and JV took first place! :cheer2:

Cruise Subject!!
Thanks for the offer, Irene! How I wish we had been on the Magic or Wonder! Anyway...the only thing I am waiting to get from DCL is the crystal ship...not the square one, but didn't someone say there is a pin, or a pendant...what was it guys?? Brain malfunction!

AND....in May, Jay & I will definitely go to Brunch at Palo...but not to dinner. We have concierge, and if someone wants me to book them a Palo dinner, I would be more than happy to do it. Not a double booking, (not the cheating kind) just a dinner that I won't be using!! ;) (That's so I don't get into any trouble!)

Does anyone know if I can book a table for FOUR? That way, both Angie and Maria could go....with the hubbies, of course.

Stacey, we were able to book a table for four (well, Jim did) for dinner. It counted as the Palo dinner for both of us, he had to know our cabin number. I'm not sure they will let you book it for someone else, but you can try!

Irene, I'd ask you to watch for a cruise line artist choice pin, but I seem to have quit collecting pins. I still have a LOT of pins, but DD has moved on to other things, and it's no fun doing it by yourself. I had the whole series of A/C pins up until our last cruise, and haven't gotten one since! I have a bunch from that cruise though!

For our January cruise I went online and was able to book a table for 4 (2 for us, 2 for my parents) without even having to enter any information about my parents. That was for brunch. We aren't doing dinner either.

 I would love to do that again! Very nice meal, fun conversation, nice atmosphere. I enjoyed all but the overfull feeling at the end....... :teeth:

I don't think I had to know my parent's cabin number, but then again, we're linked, so maybe it was automatic.

Are you saying you DIDN'T like eating with US???

I figured I would make the reservation in my name, and one of the other couples. Whichever couple that is, can charge the extra fee to their room and then those guys can iron out the details of paying for the fee.......seems simple enough.
