Our local Fox News last night had the story of the Seabourn and the Pirates, complete with pictures and comments from passengers who are giving the Captain *high marks* for his handling of the attack. They said he was creating waves in an attempt to capsize the 2 pirate boats and tried to run over one! Go Captain!!!

Good morning all! DH and girls are off to Mass this morning. I'm hoping that by next weekend I'll feel up for going. We'll see.

MIL is leaving today. DH will have to take her to the airport at 2:00. My parents are driving in today. Not sure what time they'll get here. They will be here for a while. I'll have to set down some ground rules with them. Things tend to be chaotic around here when they're here. That wasn't the case with MIL. My parents tend to over-stimulate my kids. That's fine for a "vacation" visit but not when they're living with us and we need to remain on a schedule.

Kitty Elvis has rallied, for now. Though he still has heart problems, he has started eating again, and is back to his annoying, loveable ways. He was just now yelling at me to open the shade on his window, so he can see out.

And I don't think Alicia will be going along on the Key Largo dive in December. She really wanted to do the studio's Talent show, since she is in most of the numbers. When we told her it was OK if she wanted to stay here for it, she decided that's what she wants to do.

OK, it is a little weird that we haven't heard from Stacey. I figure it's got to be one of these reasons: 1) the ship lost its internet connection; 2) the computers are always occupied and she can't get on; 3) Jay prevailed upon her to make their romantic couples cruise all about togetherness; or 4) she's having so much fun she forgot all about us!

I'm betting on #1.

Hey, I was right! Just heard from Stacey, she's back and still going nuts. But she didn't post again for reasons #1 and #3.

Angie, we were just told this week that Alicia might have a bit of scoliosis. This was from her ballet teacher, Alicia has been really complaining that her back hurts lately. I'm taking her to the doctor, but meanwhile we are severely lightening her backpack load. I think her heavy backpack during mid-school, when she was growing so much, has really caused a problem. Interesting that this morning (with two days sans backpack) she felt fine.

Yes, I argued with her about this all through mid-school, still do. Mom never knows nothin'.

HEY! Who stole my "Double Dip" timer???

The internet connection on the Princess was sketchy at best....I don't know if that was because of the ship, or the weather...but either way, when I finally could get online, I only stayed on long enough to check for messages from home.
The Caribbean Princess is huge, and beautiful....but lacking the "magic" of DCL. And the food was less than impressive.
We met a few couples with our group that we really enjoyed talking to, and a few crew members that we had a blast with, but on the whole, our "group" was full of spoiled brats who behaved badly. Put the title "VIP High-Roller" on someone and they expect too much. We spent a lot of time avoiding them at all cost. Although we did attend the functions they had planned for us every night, out of respect to my host from the Mirage.
But it was a wonderful break for Jay and I together...and things here at home went very well. What a joy to come home and have everything fine, no troubles at all!
Well, back to the unpacking. I missed all of you....I know now the HUGE difference it makes to have wonderful friends like you guys!!!

Yep, we heard about the real pirates. I think it's weird that Security on the ship didn't have guns. They could have blown a hole in those pirates' inflatable boat!

Diana, I hope Alicia's is a mild case and won't progress. I wore a brace for a while in high school but HATED it and rebelled. My parents didn't force me to wear it. Now I regret it. But, I guess who knows if that would have stopped the progression that I experienced later in life. It's best that you do take Alicia to be checked and have someone track her periodically.

Good Mornin - I hope you are feeling better soon.......

We had a great Sunday - Early Mass for Sam and I and then a few chores before our cruise next week. They were NOT on the list of things to dot - let's see - get hit by a tree - propr up schrubs, cut down hanging fronds, replace Mother's freezer for food while we are away, visit dive shop ( oh, that might have been on the list) - clean and clean the porch and set our furniture.... etc etc etc etc - you ge the picture....
