I don't see much difference in this and growing up in Texas. Same thing, especially the last conversation. Yes, I'm Texas bred (but not born!).

Well, that there sounds like good ol' Cave Creek, if you ask me.....

And yeah.......PEPSI !!
But my second choice after Pepsi is Dr. Pepper.....so I am usually safe in a Coke environment....they just don't have Dr. P on the ships!

68° and sunny so far! Jim, maybe you should have considered a move to Arizona. Oh, that's right....it's too HOT in the summer. Waaaaa

Heading out for the day.....see ya tonight.

Checking in on my lunch hour on my new job. I told my boss about my DIS habit. He doesn't have a problem as long as it's on my lunch hour. I was so embarrased this morning, though. I got here a couple of minutes late. I thought I'd be 5 or 10 minutes early, too. It's been 2 years since I've had to make the drive into town. I didn't realize that the traffic would be so terrible on my route to work. Plus I was mopping up orange juice from the kitchen floor about the time I was supposed to be leaving (thanks to DS). I'll know to a) leave earlier tomorrow and b) check out other routes. The boss said that that was the only time he'd let that happen...:guilty:

I just talked to someone in our Plantation, FL office. It is next to Ft. Lauderdale. They are being told it could be 3-4 wks before they have power.

Hope it is better for Irene.

but it's a DRY heat ;) :rotfl2:

Wow - hope they are ok. The one good thing I've heard is that at least since it is October that they don't have the heat like after some hurricanes. Hopefully that makes it a little more bearable.

Don't tell me about the power being out that long! We're supposed to fly into FLL on Saturday!
Posting while I get my pedicure...it tickles!!

She'll be REALLY talented if she does it while she gets a manicure!!!

The port remains closed. They have one runway open at the airport, that is good news. 96% of the county remains without power.

You still have a few days, hopefully things will improve dramatically by then.

Stacey, don't drop that Treo in the foot spa. They usually get the airports up and running pretty fast, even when the rest of the area is still without power.

Are the phones working in the no power zone? Anyone have Irene's phone number?

I guess Amanda is at WDW. Hope they took jackets!

Jim, what have you heard about Key Largo? Is it flooded? I only hear about Key West on the news.

I don't have her # - just jumped on the Lake Worth city website to see how her town fared...there's a boil order- and 40% of the assessments to the electric infrastructor are completed. Repairs are underway...Hope she's o.k. -

Key Largo is flooded. That should clear up pretty quickly since it all runs back into the ocean.

Here is an update on Key Largo from ScubaBoard:

minimal damage in key largo; oceanside, with more extensive damage(flooding) to some exposed properties bayside. most of key largo, oceanside, had electricity last nite with bayside areas getting power today(most eating establishments, bars, stores and gas stations are open or planning to open tomorrow) both US1 and card sound road are open to residents only. iv'e heard that most dive operators in the upper keys suffered minimal, if any damage. winds are forecasted to be brisk thru saturday, so viz could be an issue. goodluck,,,,,,,,,,,,

We are on the Western in Jan '06. Where will we go? Never mind, as long as it is a cruise it doesn't matter.

Hi Sue! As of now, DCL's going to Costa Maya instead on the Westerns. You'll get to be there before the rest of us :)
