(if a sitter for Christopher materializes by Saturday... and NO, Jim, I'm NOT taking Christopher to Stonewood with us- I don't care WHAT the chef will make him).

Anybody have any unique ideas???

For starters, I'd get the Scubas to watch Christopher.....

just tryin' to be helpful!!

No help gift wise b/c we don't do anniversary gifts for each other. We look at each other and tell each other their LOVE is the best gift ever. :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc Then we rub noses and call each other "cupcake!!!!" :rotfl2:

No... I won't do that to them... or him. He'd come back swigging banfi, rooting for Michigan, and wanting to swim with the fish.

You say that like it's a Bad thing........ :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Well, we might need some info on Ray's likes and dislikes. I think the 20 year old Port I got Kevin for his birthday was his favorite gift ever! Toys are always good too. But I think ipods are more than $100.

Ok, kitty is eating his last supper before the ol' snip snip surgery tomorrow. kids should come home tomorrow and they are mad at me b/c mowana goes in for his neuter and declaw and won't come home for a couple of days....so they'll get home and he'll be gone. ;)

Okay, I have an update on the bags for those interested. Spoke to the vendor again today. No they cannot put a mickey head or Disney cruise line on the bag. We can have any design we want silk screened on the zipper pouch (large area) and that is included in the price. She will give me the bags for $21.99 per bag and then if anyone wants them personalized, the embroidery will cost $4.50 per bag. She also will package and ship them to everyone if I give her the address labels for everyone. The bad part about that is with the postage and packaging it will cost an extra $10 (approximate, depends; on weight) per bag. Now for those of you living outside of Texas, if she does the shipping, you will not have to pay any sales tax.

Since they cannot do the mickey head, I am leaning more towards order the royal blue bags, then we can have lime green as part of the screen print. She said we could use our double scoop cone logo or anything we want as long as it doesn't go against copyright laws. I don't think the lime green color would look good on red. What do you all think. Some of you may not want to order now and that is okay. So, everyone, what do you think. She said we would need to put a cut-off of probably March 1 so that she could get them ordered, printed and shipped with plenty of time to spare.

I'm still in for the bag. I'm not excited about lime green on anything, even if it is the 'official' DIS color, but I'll take whatever everyone agrees on. :wave2:

Yeah, I'm also not a huge lime green fan. I'm wondering if we can somehow make luggage tags to go on them....with a Home Depot Mickey head instead of our address.

OR....I know I can get Mickey head punches in the scrapbook section...maybe we can "mickey-fy" a red/black bag that way.

???????

If we can come up with something like that, I'm willing to look into making the tags.

OK everybody... I need your help... our 15th anniversary is in 48 hours, and have I bought Ray a gift yet..... NO!!!! Suggestions????

Gee, our 16th is in 10 days...no dinner or presents usually here, and he just informed me that his day off on the 14th will be taken up with his school work...so there goes my thoughts of an anniversary lunch while the kids are in school...(Hey, I'm cheap - don't have to pay for a babysitter)

we usually tend to suprise each other at unexpected times wiith small gifts as opposed to anniversary gifts...The last suprise gift , I got him Chicago's "Love Songs" CD...Lots of special meaning, but inexpensive...

Is there something he's wanted that he wouldn't ordinarily get for himself?

I think my best Christmas or Birthday gifts that fell into the "he wants one but, wouldn't ordinarily buy one" suprises would have to be:

a Nintendo (I think Mike was about a year old...)
bread machine - it was a running joke because my "make everything from scratch" aunt got a bread machine and loved it - so, if it was good enough for her, he wanted one too...
and his 1st expresso machine...little did I know he'd upgrade his machine within a year and is now on his 3rd roaster in 5 years...

Do you have someone Christopher could spend the night with? Secretly pack a bag then suprise Ray after dinner by going to a hotel for the night...

oh joys...the sign of times to come---Mike and I just got into an argument over his math homework...Since when is it o.k. to do math in pen??? I'll give on the "don't have to show my work..." a bit,if his algebra problems have correct answers, even though it goes against everything that was drilled into me by my math teacher father...but, pen - no way... the 5th grade attitude is starting early...

Then when some of his problems were incorrect, he stubbornly insisted his teacher told him to set it up that way - that may be true but, working the problems in reverse since when does -20=20 ???

LISA made an appearance at our house this afternoon - I'm giving myself a timeout in my bedroom until she's gone.

Our 15th is the end of the month. We tend not to do gifts. We usually use our trips as our birthday, anniversary, Christmas gifts to each other.

Which reminds me of my birthday/anniversary gift this year, which I quite liked too. Dinner at Victoria & Albert's?
