I am a Southern Living At Home (SLAH) Consultant. (I was hesitant to respond, but my dh insisted). I am a Disney fanatic, especially cruises. I just left a long career as a retail executive, and am trying my hand at some time with my dd's and with SLAH. Wow... I sign in, post once, then get distracted by Elizabeth's geography project, and you guys run away on a post marathon to get to a milestone. Oh well... at least her project is done... we hadn't hooked up the printer since we moved, and had 'techinical' difficulties with the print drivers... time for a new tower for the kids.

So now, I'm sitting here looking at the next generation of 'last-minute-project-doers'... after all, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Even when I was teaching college, I never prepared the next day's class til the night before. I guess its something we never outgrow.

The project is done... Italy... someday we'll actually get there.

So now, I'm sitting here looking at the next generation of 'last-minute-project-doers'... after all, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Even when I was teaching college, I never prepared the next day's class til the night before. I guess its something we never outgrow.

Boy, does that sound familiar!! Alicia was doing a final AP literature class project last night until 9:45pm!!!

Ok, I found the perfect way to watch 24. Tinks, this will help you. I have yet to actually TRY it, but after this last episode, I think we're going to have to institute this plan.

Watch the episode, but when the ticker clock gets to about :50 or :55, STOP THE DVD. Then, the next time you're going to watch it...start the DVD and watch it until the NEXT :50 or :55.

So say you're watching it....it gets to 3:50...stop it, then next time watch 3:50 till 4:00 then 4:00 till 4:50.....

That way you are never sucked into the next episode by the event that ALWAYS happens at the very last minute!!!

Where exactly is Blue Springs? Can we rent gear?

Always glad to provide diving information. Blue Springs is just west of I-4 in Orange City, about 25 minutes north of downtown Orlando. It is in Blue Springs State Park. There is no place on site to rent gear. You will need to rent it from a local dive shop and take it in.

This is a state run park so their rules are pretty tough about diving. No lights, only a certain number per day, be there when they open during manatee season just to make sure you get in. Last dive is at 5 PM.

If you want a dive instructor to take you the first time, let me know. Red will be glad to go with you and he may be able to provide your gear. Kevin has dove with Red. Nice guy.

Looking for gear is a bad sign. Hide the credit cards!

A 5 mil wetsuit is all that you need. You will use that same wetsuit if you dive in Ft Lauderdale in Jan, Fed, March.

I firmly believe that owning your own gear makes diving possible. I've seen lots of people get certified but then don't dive because it is a hassle to rent gear. Buying make it much easier and cheaper (if you are going to dive)

Boy, does that sound familiar!! Alicia was doing a final AP literature class project last night until 9:45pm!!!

AP Lit and cramming... I know that routine very well... when I was in high school, we didn't have AP classes, but could take the AP exams... I took the lit exam, and didn't get the book list (of what I SHOULD have read over the past 4 years) til 1 week before... I had read most of them, but not with the intention of being tested on them several years later... it was a week of non-stop reading, and resorting to Cliff notes for the ones that I had forgotten most of!

Man, I hadn't even gotten home from work/Ashley's swim practice when you all hit the milestone. Seems I am never around when the race is on. Oh well. Hubby gets off work earlier than I do, so he drops Ashley off at Swimming and then I go to practice after I get off work and wait for her to get done. Then we get to come home usually to a cooked dinner waiting for us. How good is that. I hate to cook

We also had to go to the Halloween party store and buy a Cleopatra costume for an English assignment/play that Ashley is doing at school on Friday. Guess what she is dressing up as for Halloween?? Killed two birds with one stone.
