good for you dad but you need to cook my dinner. I'm hungry and have to go to gym. so get off the computer and start to cook. :sad2: :mickeybar :sad2:

Lisa ended up cooking dinner for all of us. She made Chicken Wellington (kind of). She stuffed chicken with bacon, portcini mushroom and onions, and than topped it with a hunter sauce.

Of course she is off to the gym and left Dad and I to clean up.

Hi all - checking in from the Member Cruise and having a blast!

Jim - got your pm. I'll see Karen and Mike at dinner in a little over an hour so will tell them then. Hopefully you'll have already talked!

Got a great group of DIS'ers on this cruise! Brings back lots of great memories of the 10 day and also helps the anticipation of our May cruise.

I may have something to share in the morning. No it has nothing to do with horns but it is pretty special.

Talk to you then!

Ooh... any leftovers... we've yet to cook anything but coffee today... nuked leftover pancakes from Sunday breakfast, went to the neighbor's for a bbq for lunch, now I'm starting to get hungry.

Glad to hear that you didn't have to resort to fried kitty. Though I'm sure, given the chance, your dog would get to the cat before you did.

Packed up just about everything that's not tied down... (needed a BIG box for the dog) the house is looking like it did LAST year at this time when a hurricane had blown through.

Mary.....I sent you a PM!

I've been sort of in and out today, haven't had much of a chance to read back yet...I missed a lot of chatting, I see.

We had a bit of a scare this afternoon....Jared was walking into my bedroom and passed out. Basically fell straight down onto his face. He broke his glasses, which cut him above the eyebrow, and I think he re-broke his nose. We have no idea why it happened. Blood sugar, maybe. I'm still not fully recovered...he is...sort of, but I'm not. Poor kid.

Oh my. Was he coming in to tell you he felt funny, or was it just that sudden? Get that kid to the Doctor!

No need to go to a doctor. Just wait for Virgil to read the post. Or you can wait for OhioMickey to get back from his cruise.

Megan's medical training finally came in somewhat handy....she came up from the guest house and checked his vitals, coordination and such. She thought we should still take him to the ER...but we had him eat some fruit cocktail, and then some cereal, and he's doing well enough to be arguing with Jordan right now.....about ownership of a television.
I'm too old for this.
Anyway, I'll be calling the Dr's office first thing in the morning, to see what they want us to do. Megan thinks they will want to set an appt time when he hasn't eaten, so they can test his blood sugar levels.
I was outside a bit ago, talking to the neighbor. He said his son did that at almost the same age. They did a CT scan & everything...but found nothing.
Jared had come out of his room....and was headed for my room. I don't know why, and he doesn't remember. All he remembers is feeling "funny dizzy" and then he does remember the noise he made when he banged into our bedroom doors...and then remembers hearing Jay yelling. Jared thought later that we were yelling AT him.....we were both frantic, and yes...yelling...but not AT him.
I was going to do some ironing this afternoon....but I feel drained. I may read here for a while, or just go lay down. Am I the only one who feels drained after a scare like that??

And now for another fun topic....we are looking at our Christmas options. One option that the kids and I are trying to sell is a cabin in the mountains of GA/SC/or NC for just a few days. Trying to keep it within 8 hrs driving distance so we can do it in a long Christmas weekend.

Does any one have any suggestions?

The funny thing is that I had the same thought. Right after it happened, I thought of Karen & Mike being gone...and I don't know where Virgil is....but I thought "Where are all our Doctors and Nurses when you need them!". Not that anyone could diagnose over the internet.

And yes....right about now, I would LOVE to go on a Liveaboard with you!!

I'm trying so very hard.....I'm just not certain that my point was taken by all .......

Stacey, it does sound like low blood sugar. Better keep him well fed, that probably means you may as well let him live in the kitchen.

Jim, we're staying home for Christmas. A mountain cabin is probably the only place it won't be crowded at Christmas, but you might be dealing with snow.

I got caught up on my reading...now I'll go lay down before we meet Bill and Tyler for the Labor Day company picnic....at Dairy Queen. WHAT? You don't think I'm standing in the heat grilling, do you??

You guys are going to have to repeat all the TV info before I go to the Holiday Gift Shoppe this year. Jay is going to get his dream flat screen this time. I don't care if we have to roll the "Giant Elephant" TV out in the street. Anyone remember last year, our friends wouldn't take our big screen so that Jay could get his new one?? :confused3

We had several plane loads of refugees arrive in Phoenix yesterday and I had the same thought...they are gonna hate this dry heat!

The only thing about Jared that has me worried is that his hands shake...almost all the time. I noticed it a while ago, but didn't want to upset him by saying anything. Even my mom noticed. Guess we'll have to see what the doctor says. And...he already LIVES in the kitchen! LOL

Jim....I don't know the first thing about snowy cabins...I try to stay away from that white stuff.....you'll have to ask Virgil.

Stacey - sounds mostly like a vasovagal episode..... I'm willing to bet he felt hot as well as being dizzy...... probably nothing to worry about - need to make sure he's drinking a lot of water... and not overdoing the sweets - carbs yes - sugar no.....

and you always have my cell phone number....

That is what the kids want....snow. Sharon will be happy with a fireplace and a book. Might look into the Asheville, NC area and try to tie in the Biltmore Estate. Been there once and Christmas should be special!

Stacey, you have his cell phone number and did not call him right away....shame on you. After all, you shipped him a desk. He owes you one phone consult! :rotfl2:
