I think that is right! Heard about a guy and his family who lives in the heart of New Orleans and they were headed to WDW for awhile. Couldn't go home, might as well see Mickey! I thought that was a great attitude. Granted, not all the folks displaced can or would do that, but it shows that life goes on.kikipug said:I am SOOOOOO looking forward to meeting the Sunday crowd... between Ray losing one of his best friends last Monday, Matt's accident on Tuesday, and watching in horror as the Gulf states try to cope this week, I am in desparate need of a diversion before I go off the deep end.
Thankfully, things are progressing on schedule with the house (which now seems so incredibly trivial). If they weren't, I think I'd be headed for the funny farm right about now.
Heard on the news that municipal buildings, churches and business from NO to Texas were taking people in needing shelter. They are busing people into Houston to stay at the Astro Dome.Dancind said:Angie, glad to hear some good news. Is everyone accounted for now?
It's hard to look at the paper, or the news. So is the Red Cross the best place to make a donation? They will be the first ones there, I think. They're evacuating all of New Orleans! Where will everyone go?

I don't think that Scoopie will be visiting New Orleans with me in March... I'll keep you posted as to where our adventures will take him during that time.

Mary, Mark and Bear, have a great trip and a WONDERful cruise. To everyone else traveling to WDW this weekend, may your trip be a safe one.

Released by Communications:
Anheuser-Busch Increases Water Donations to 825,000 Cans to Aid Hurricane Katrina Victims
ST. LOUIS In response to requests from relief agencies following the tremendous damage caused by Hurricane Katrina, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesalers have now shipped more than 825,000 cans of safe drinking water to victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Separately, the Anheuser-Busch Foundation announced today that it is donating $250,000 to Red Cross relief efforts along the Gulf Coast. Our sympathy goes out to all victims of Hurricane Katrina, and this donation will help those who have been most affected by the storm, said Patrick Stokes, president and chief executive officer of Anheuser-Busch Companies. Anheuser-Busch and its wholesalers are always among the first to lend a hand to help those in need get back on their feet.
I guess this is a prime example of "water, water, everywhere, and not a drop to drink." I'm sure that efforts will increase as the days go on, too.
