Irene..I noticed yours is gone too.

Most websites have a limit of how much data can be transmitted every month, or they either cut it off or start charging the owner of the site for the extra data sent.

The counters are not hosted here and obviously the site went over and they pulled the plug. I'd expect they'll be back Thursday.

Boy, I almost caved today. Southwest had a DING for only $70 to Orlando from Albuquerque, good November and December. Kevin booked a long weekend for he and Alicia to go diving, as soon as she gets off school for break. And I was thinking of the last week of Food & Wine on my own, a Sunday through Friday trip on points. But I still don't have an AP, would have to renew. So I didn't do it. Wouldn't be prudent.

Hope you all have fun this weekend! Wish we could stop by and join the fun.

Hey everyone! Diana we are okay, we did not have any tornados only watches through out the day..Irene what ever you need to do about the ressie is fine with me. I have already messed up, I was able to snag a CRT res but it was only for the 3 of us, & now they dont have the room for all of us. I am not sure what i am going to do about that, as I had already promised Taylor that we would do that.....

Hi Everyone,

Just checkin' in. I watched the news today and I can't even imagine what those poor people are up against. I was trying to explain it to my 9 year-old DS that everything in their houses is GONE!! But, they still have eachother....I really didn't dwell on the fact that that may not be 100% true. Did anyone see that interview of the man on the street who said that he was holding onto his wife's hand during the hurricane and he couldn't hold onto her any longer and she got swept away by the hurricane and she told him to take care of the kids and grandkids? The reporter was crying. It broke my heart. Really makes you appreciate all those stupid things in life that we take for granted. Like running water, electricity. Forget about material things, we could buy new stuff. The importance of existence and living really hit ya hard.

My prayers are with all the people affected by Katrina. Angie...my thoughts and prayers have been with you all day. I've never met you, but I feel like I know you and I can't imagine what you're going through. Knowing actual people that live in that area. It's hard to comprehend knowing that loved ones have lost their homes. Hang in there.

Well...that's all I have to say right now. I'll be signing off for the night.

TTFN,
Maria

The sites moving along...sorry I'm not able to read all the pages that I've missed. I'll check in periodically, but not often enough to keep up with this chatty group. Keep updating the website...it's very helpful to us losers who can't keep up.

GO SCOOPS GROUP :cheer2:

Heard it on Fox News on XM and then later saw it on the news. I was very moved by the reporter's emotions. Sometimes they can seem so uncaring with the questions they ask to people who are obviously suffering. She definitely had a heart for that man and his family.

Tough day. Cannot believe the video footage...and just when they thought they had escaped the worst of it. :(

Hugs, Angie!

Just a quick post from Phoenix. It's hot. I don't see how Stacey does it every year.

Had a great time. I leave tomorrow afternoon to head back to all the DIS meets for the weekend.

Great time meeting Stacey and family.

Been watching the news also....it is so unimaginable. I had no idea how bad it would be, and it is worse than I could have imagined. Lots of prayers going out.
I had a call from the F.O.P. for a donation tonight, and I told him I was instead sending money to the Red Cross for the hurricane/flood victims, but that I would think of him when I wrote the check for my quarterly income taxes. I don't think he quite "got" what I was saying. :sad2:

Hi Jim! I'm not the one who has to work outside in this heat! I just go from one air conditioned place to another. Jay, on the other hand suffers through. I felt sorry for the poor roofers last week.....but they start early and end early. Not that it helps much if the low is 90°+
I was going to post the menu from the dinner Saturday night for you....but under the circumstances, it's probably not appropriate. Have a safe flight home.

:flower1: Good morning cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Wednesday!

This is my last day of work before vacation! We leave tomorrow for WDW and our DVC Member Cruise! Looking to meeting up with everyone on Saturday for lunch.

Good morning all! All of you heading to WDW for the weekend, have a great time!

Thanks to all for the continued prayers. BIL, wife, baby and dog arrived last night. They were very thankful that I had cooked a meal for them. They said that it was weird driving in to ATL and seeing life as normal. They felt bad that they had the dog with them ... I'm not a pet person. But under the circumstances, having a dog in my house is the LEAST of my worries. I told DH that under NO circumstances is he to accept any money from them. We did see pics on the news of where they live. We're hopeful that they didn't have water damage but the streets were very much a mess. There's no telling what type of damage they had to their house. Her sisters and mother are certain that they've lost everything. BIL is wanting to head back ASAP. He's a bank manager of 3 branches and feels like he needs to be there to help people get money. Pretty sure SIL and family will have lost everything. Still no pics or word on MIL's area. My brother has an apt. in area that is certainly flooded. His apt. is on the 3rd floor so it's possible that his things may have been spared. We just don't know. I get tears in my eyes every time I think of it or see things on TV. My best friend left her car and fled with her boyfriend and his family. I know that they're safe but know that she won't even have a car. And all of those people without jobs! What will they do? My heart just breaks. People that I work with have offered their homes to anyone I know that needs a place to stay for a while. People do want to help.

I REALLY need to have a talk with my parents and ask them if they realize how fortunate they were. They were STUPID to stay. If the storm had jogged to the west instead of the east, they would have been the ones with nothing left.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
Ang

Cajun Gril - we live in hurricane area and I worked the aftermath of Andrew. I cannot imagine what you are feeling - but am glad a small part of the gulf coast family is safe..what else to say??? Thanks for the update.....

That's probably because your response was not in their flow chart ....there wasn't a scripted answer!
