Good Morning Folks --- I "had" planned on making out to the garden thism orning - too HOT, way too hot...And last night I decided, why?, to make DH a irate costume for our November cruise......How did those pirates get all that material for those ......shirts.....Anyway, at 2:00 am, I decided I needed to go sleepy......DH will be back on Sunday, airstrikes not withstanding, so this will be a nice surprise....(uh, huh...all you DH's out there presented with a priate custime, just what you want, right??).

Anyway, me and the air-conditioner, and sewing machine, and the webcams to see Magic cruise out of port.....

Life is GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll check back later... :goodvibes

Tell him that a cruise is NO time to be IRATE!!!! (Sorry- couldn't resist that one)... no grumpies on vacation- that's a rule in our house!!

You're right- its too hot again today... Ray and Christopher just left for their scrimmages in Merritt Island... sorry, but where I come from, this just ISN'T football weather! (This isn't ANYTHING weather).

I'm sitting here staring at 2 loads of clean laundry on the couch, hoping that it will fold itself. Maybe the laundry fairy princess: will deal with it while I'm grocery shopping. More packing to do today... I've barely touched the kids rooms yet, and I want to do some 'selective junk reduction' before packing while they're not home!

Oh wow.....an "irate costume"...I will not even edit that to be a
pirate: irate........whew...now where did I put that seam ripper?

Memo to self...do not loan sewing machine to next door neighbor....

I love that - selective junk reduction

Happens ALL the time at my house. The sad thing is, with Kelly's room, she has so much................"stuff", shall we say...........that you can throw alot of it away, and 99% of the time, she never misses it. You just have to make sure that you don't put it in the top of the big trash can, so that she might see it!

It's another hot one here in Tampa. For those of you on the east coast......do you ever get "red tide" over there? It has been a problem over here all summer long. We've not been able to take out the jet-ski since before Memorial day! The sad thing is that hotels have not told tourist about it, and they are getting a big surprise once they arrive for vacation! :guilty:

No big plans this weekend. Kelly is at gymnastics.........what else is new?
We're just hanging out at home. Going to MIL's for dinner.

Happy Sat. to all!

I've done that to my kids' rooms....removed BAGS full of "stuff"...thinking they were going to have a fit when they got home....they've never even noticed! Amazing.

LAUNDRY princess: FAIRY?? Where? I want one!!

I had seen a t-shirt in Epcot that I just loved...but it was black...too hot....so I had it made and it arrived yesterday. I'm going to wear it today. It says: I'm tired of REALITY....Where's my Fairygodmother??

The pirate: irate costume is on the hanger for the day. Vest is made....complete with gold coins, but I cheated and did not line it. With false suade fabric, on sale, i did not even need to hem....hee - hee.

The shirt was a pain! Lots of flunce. I just dicovered it needs buttons. I don't do button holes, so how authentic will velcro be? Ok, snaps to the rescue, with false buttons on.....We still need s sash, but I am not sewing breeches....I think black sweat pants or the like, will be fine...After all, tennis shoes are the footwear of the cruise. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Now all we need is for DH to look like the pirate on the cover of the pattern...

PS - these directions were the worse I have seen....what do they think I am, a mind-reader...every other step was described????

OK, did someone say laundry - no it is dishes....

Red Tide - yes we do get it here....The scientists think it s caused by the 4 hurricanes dumping tremendous freshwater up in the central part of our state...That water is still flowing out to the estuaries, and has been all through the traditional dry season. This has upset the ecologicl balance, due in part the the quality as well as quantity of stormwater dscharged.....

Don't talk to me about clutter. My office and "storage room" are candidates for Clean Sweep. Time to quit shopping for EBay stuff and start listing EBay stuff. No comments from husbands! If he would just take care of that garage sale we need to have...

DD is on her own now. I used to go in there and take out bags of stuff, but I don't know what she wants to keep anymore. So we leave it up to her, with mixed results. I figure when she starts dating, she will want a nice room to show. Poor kid, right now she doesn't have a bed. She has our second hand Select Comfort, but the pump burned out, and both sides went flat. Kevin ordered a pump, but meanwhile she is sleeping on an air mattress.

We have a laundry fairy! But it always shrinks my bras and DD's t-shirts. Bad laundry fairy! :maleficen

We have been fighting with that for years now!! :confused3

I told Alicia that when she got her room all cleaned up and squared away I would repaint and we could do some cool decorations and stuff!!

It probably won't happen until we move!! :rotfl2:

Hi All. We had a great time, the weather was nice, seas calm, service great. My first time to Bermuda and hopefully not my last. Wonderful Island, beautiful beaches and really nice, friendly people.

We had to totally redo Kellly's room last year............thanks to Hurricane Frances. So, we painted and put up a chair rail...........new bedding, etc. She promised it would stay nice. HA!
enter room fairy.

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Ta-Dah! All the clothes are put away........junk put away, and she is usually none the wiser. And if anyone tells her what REALLY happens when she goes to the gym, I'll kill you!

Sue.....glad you had a good time. DH and I went there for our honeymoon. We always said we would go back. 18 years later...........we're still waiting. (If I'd stop taking 2 Disney cruises a year, maybe we could)

Do you remember if there was a restaurant called the Parakeet Inn? It was on the main road from Hamilton to St. George. Great fish and chips!

Fran
:teacher:

Fran - We only went thru Hamilton on a tour. We did swim at Horseshoe Bay. Our ship docked at Kings Wharf, the NW part of the island.

Sue

I was just wondering...........we LOVED Bermuda. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that it was our honeymoon...........and we were 22......and SO in love...........and thought everything was wonderful! :goodvibes
Fran
:teacher:

Sue! How wonderful! One of the places I want to get to someday. What's that song...."Bermuda, Bahamas, come on pretty mama....." I want to be able to say that I saw them all!

Jordan was told she had to keep her room clean in order to redecorate.....she cleaned the room! Now does that mean I actually have to redocorate it??? Nuts.

Once in a while there is a Laundry Fairy at my house who shrinks things, too. He ..I mean, the LF, has been politely asked to please not wash my things!!

Diana....think about what you just said ...."When she starts dating, she'll want a nice room to show".......NOT! The bedroom is off-limits....even for just LOOKING!

You're right, Stacey. I don't think I ever showed my room to a date. But it's a new world out there. Of course, the door stays open at all times. Better yet, I once said we would put one of those curved benches around the tree in the front yard. She can entertain out there, with the whole neighborhood watching!
