I had a pink room and red/orange shag carpeting...just thinking about it hurts my eyes... :crazy2:

Do you ever wonder why, even when grown, women (especially southern women) refer to their fathers still as "Daddy" but, "Mommy" is dropped sometime in mid childhood?

Just a deep thought to ponder today...

Ponder - Ponder - Ponder ...Well, Mother is British so it would have been mummy or mum...but it never was. It was always Mother....hum, may that "she" was always, and still is, Mother... :goodvibes

Oh, yes...."Mommy and Daddy"......Megan quit calling me Mommy somewhere around the 2nd grade. Ouch!
Jordan and Jared both still call us Mommy and Daddy, and I hope they never stop! I know that Jared will soon, someone is bound to hear him and make fun of it. So sad....
It does sound funny now that his voice is changing, though. ;)
Alicia called me "Pappy" the other day. I said; "What did you say?"

Just took me by surpriase.... That's was the name Steve McQueen had in that prison movie wasn't?

That's how you catch a summer cold!!

Happened to me during my stint in the Navy. The ship was in the Phillipines and it was hot and humid. The computer room for the missile system we worked on was very nice at 72°. Going in and out, I caught a Nasty cold!! :confused3

True, but she is stilling among kegs of beer. That might be worth the price.

Hi Everyone,

Mary...have a great time this weekend.

Tapers just left my house. They applied the 2nd coat of compound. They will probably be back Monday morning for light sanding and the third coat. Then they have to come back to sand that 3rd coat. OMG...then I can paint. I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's getting more stressful now, than in the beginning.

OK, I think I need to bring the kids to the movies. It's raining now and they are starting to drive me crazy. 2 more weeks until school starts here in NY. The day after Labor Day. I will be doing the "happy" dance.

TTFN,
Maria

Weather forcasters don't have much to do in Houston in the summer. Look at the daily forcast...98 degrees high, heat index 106, 30% chance of rain, low of 78. Doesn't vary by much. At least we're consistant.

Same goes for Central FL in the summertime... high in the 90's, low in the 70's, chance of strong afternoon showers... DH and I laugh at the idiotic weather people here who think they're so smart... I'd like to see them try to forecast New England weather... snow in the morning, heat wave in the afternoon, sleet and freezing rain after dark, with periods of dense fog... or something like that...

While drinking my diet Coke... (beer, beer everywhere, and not a drop to drink)... besides, where are our MD's chiming in to remind him that colds come from a virus not from cold air... did you ever stop to think how GERMY a Navy ship can be????

I agree with Karen. Try to do the NorthEast weather. That's why I am coming back as a weatherman. You never have to be right. It's just a "guestamate" on their part.

Especially when you wake up in the morning to find 18 inches of 'partly cloudy' on your front lawn...

Are you thinking Popeye, French Connection?

Or maybe "Pappilion" which Steve McQueen starred in. I think.

Quicky Karaoke... no time for the whole song... so I'll just sing the important part...

I get home 7:30 the house is dirty, but it can wait
Cause right now I need some downtime
To drink some red wine and celebrate
Armageddon could be knocking at my door
But I ain't gonna answer that's for sure.
There's gotta be something more!

NEED WINE - need lots of wine!!!!!!!

Speaking of our wonderful weather people... I must shut down the computer now. There's a serious thunderstorm moving through. Hope to be back in a few hours. :umbrella:

I thought of Papillion too, but I didn't know how to spell it. There's a town near Omaha called Papillion. But they pronounce it Pa PILL Yen.

See, you all just had a geography lesson. Fluff? What fluff??

On no, I had a misspelled word! And it got quoted before I could change it. Darn. Ah well, happens to the best of us.
