Quicky Karaoke... no time for the whole song... so I'll just sing the important part...

I get home 7:30 the house is dirty, but it can wait
Cause right now I need some downtime
To drink some red wine and celebrate
Armageddon could be knocking at my door
But I ain't gonna answer that's for sure.
There's gotta be something more!

Irish Fest sounds like fun! Have a great time, Mary.

Stacey, if your laundry room makes you happy, that's all that counts. You're the one spending all the time in there.

No pink walls in our house, but our hallway blushes slightly. Monica, we put up stuff when we moved in 16 years ago, and not much has changed on the walls. I do try to find space for the latest recital portrait, but that's about it.

Hi Folks - How did I forget it was Friday.....In honour of the HEAT WAVE.
It's H :sunny: T here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Hot Town Summer In The City
Back Of My Neck Getting Dirt And Gritty
Been Down, Isn'T It A Pity
Doesn'T Seem To Be A Shadow In The City
All Around People Looking Half Dead
Walking On The Sidewalk Hotter Than A Match Head

But At Night It'S A Different World
Go Out And Find A Girl
Come On, Come On And Dance All Night
Despite The Heat It Will Be Alright
And Babe, Don'T You Know It'S A Pity
The Days Can'T Be Like The Night
In The Summer In The City
In The Summer In The City

Cool Town, Evening In The City
Dressed So Fine And Looking So Pritty
Cool Cat Lookin For A Kitty
Gonna Look In Every Corner Of The City
Till I'M Weezin Like A Bus Stop
Running Up The Stairs Gonna Meet Ya On The Roof Top

But At Night It'S A Different World
Go Out And Find A Girl
Come On, Come On Lets Dance All Night
Despite The Heat It Will Be Alright
And Babe, Don'T You Know It'S A Pity
The Days Can'T Be Like The Night
In The Summer In The City
In The Summer In The City

Good morning everyone. I am certain I have made the right decision, as once we made it last night, I felt at peace, and slept really well last night, unlike the night b4. Now to call the job selector and let her know, b4 5pm or she will automatically place in the job! Eek!

Thanks for sharing and letting us know....Now you can relax and smile....

Aw, c'mon... I just looked- our current heat index in the shade is 106, and the hottest part of the day is still several hours away... I think I'll go eat my lunch in our draught cooler... its 38 in there.

Yes, that's definitely P-P-P-Piglet Pink!!!!

Elizabeth's room was that color in our old house in NH... with fuschia wall to wall carpeting... (never let a 2-year old pick out paint and carpet colors)... but she LOVED it!!!

I remember my Daddy letting me pick out paint for my room when I was very small....and it was what color - PINK --- My Mother was not happy but she let Daddy and I paint anyway.....Upon reflection, Mother was prob. right but Daddy won all the points that day....and happy memories....

What is it with little girls and pink? And I was a tom-boy... :bitelip:

Weather forcasters don't have much to do in Houston in the summer. Look at the daily forcast...98 degrees high, heat index 106, 30% chance of rain, low of 78. Doesn't vary by much. At least we're consistant.

We are doing the document dance here...got our documents for the Member Cruise in two weeks!

Just had to share an amusing work story. (At least I find it amusing...) I teach water aerobics 3 mornings a week. A woman complained yesterday because she was getting splashed...I had to stop to determine if she was joking or serious before replying. Unfortunately, she was serious and disappointed I wouldn't (couldn't) control the splashing from the class members as well as lap swimmers during their workouts.

I had a pink room and red/orange shag carpeting...just thinking about it hurts my eyes... :crazy2:

Do you ever wonder why, even when grown, women (especially southern women) refer to their fathers still as "Daddy" but, "Mommy" is dropped sometime in mid childhood?

Just a deep thought to ponder today...

So true! I still call mine Daddy. But, my Mommy is Mom now. I'll be sad when the girls stop calling me Mommy.

Emily is wanting a pink and purple room. I'm trying to put her off as long as I can. I just don't want to spend any more time and $ trying to coordinate yet another room. We didn't find out if she was going to be a boy or girl so we painted her room blue & yellow. The bottom 3/4 of the walls is bright yellow and the top 1/4 is a medium blue (separated by white molding). I searched long and hard for her quilt to match the color scheme. I'm not ready to part with it just yet!!! I do think that we could find pastel-y pinks and purples that she would be happy with and it wouldn't kill our eyes.

Took Emily to the dr. this morning. Her rapid strep test came back negative. I'll call back in the a.m. to see what happened with the culture test. Her 2 best buds are having a joint birthday party tomorrow. I hope she doesn't miss it as they're all at different schools now. Even if she does miss it, she'll meet up again with them next weekend for her party.

blue & yellow.

Get this....when we moved in here Nick's room was awful. Horrible border and chipping paint (lead chips, anyone?)

I got some cute train border b/c he was really into trains at the time. Chipped off all the bad paint, remudded, etc etc ...

Pulled two colors out of the train border wallpaper and painted away. Bottom of the room is bright blue. Top is yellow.

If we remove the train border now it would pass for a UNIVERSITY of MICHIGAN room.....maize and blue. ACK! Poor boy. At least right next door it looks like an OSU gift shop blew up in KT's room! Scarlet and grey to the hilt!

That's how you catch a summer cold!!

Happened to me during my stint in the Navy. The ship was in the Phillipines and it was hot and humid. The computer room for the missile system we worked on was very nice at 72°. Going in and out, I caught a Nasty cold!! :confused3

Is this one of those "the customer is alway right" scenarios??

:earseek: Some peoples kids......... :confused3

Hey, OM. Do you remember my story about how I turned Alicia into a reader? I would read her a chapter of HP, then she would have to read one to herself. She was so caught up in the story after the first couple of chapters, she would do it! She would even read them to me out loud at times. So, read them a chapter, then they each read the next one to themselves, taking turns. It would save your voice, if nothing else, and should slow them down a bit.

Good Morning! Afternoon!

Hooray on the docs, Mary!! :cool1: Have fun at the Irish Fest! Have a green lemonade for me!!

Sorry to ruin your breakfast, Jim...but I did warn you!

When I was a kid, I had ice blue shag carpet. My mom and dad were so good....they changed the color of my walls about 4 times. I had yellow, pink, lavender and finally blue to match the carpet.

Oh, yes...."Mommy and Daddy"......Megan quit calling me Mommy somewhere around the 2nd grade. Ouch!
Jordan and Jared both still call us Mommy and Daddy, and I hope they never stop! I know that Jared will soon, someone is bound to hear him and make fun of it. So sad....
It does sound funny now that his voice is changing, though. ;)

Thanks Stacey - I don't think they sell green lemonade, but I'll look. :)

BTW - I'm sending you an e-mail you might find fascinating.
