Jim is leaving Friday to spend a week down there himself.

And you're letting him go unsupervised? :confused3

I wish I could go, but lack of vacation time makes it tough. I will be leaving with the kids to go to Michigan to see my family the following week, so there goes the vacation time.
This will be "boys week" so lots of hiking, rapelling, water water rafting, kayaking, etc will take place. Matt can't wait for his Dad to come and play (which is saying a lot for a 15 year old boy to enjoy his Dad so much)

More proof that not all teenagers are bad kids! That's great. Neither Ray nor I ever went through that 'phase' of not wanting to be seen with our parents, and hopefully, our kids will be the same way. Granted, they're still young, but, for now, they still think that we're cool.

Though, I think it will be interesting this year with Ray coaching the boys that are Elizabeth's age in football... the way I figure it, with that 'insurance policy', there won't be a teen-aged boy gracing our doorstep til Christopher's a teenager. :rotfl2:

It is definitely NOT low carb. They are outrageously high in carbs. It is classified as an 'FMB', flavored malt beverage, which means that it is 'flavored beer', with the beer flavor missing, and the lime (or lemon, orange, watermelon, blah, blah, blah) in its place. Bacardi Black Cherry and Bacardi Green Apple are both low-carb versions of FMB's...

So it is Barcardi that I want to try. The Black Cherry sounds appealing to me.

Greetings all! Finally got caught up. You won't hear any wine, been or Mike's talk from Mark and I as we are not drinkers.

Jim - I hope you and Matt have a great week together.

I was just working on my designated driver campaign for the holiday weekend, when I read your post... I had just downloaded this a few minutes ago... so I salute you, too!

I hope this doesn't mean that you'll be driving the ship when we sail!!! :boat:

Just looked at the countdown and we sail in 333 days! :banana:

Since everyone here likes to talk wine, we had an excellent wine last night at my SIL's wedding. It was from a local winery called La Vina. It was a Reisling and I think it was truly the best wine I have ever had (had several glasses). I plan on going out to the winery soon and buying some bottles. We also had a great champagne for the toast last night from the same winery and it was excellent as well. Will post more after I have had a chance to go to the winery so I know how much it costs, etc.

Have in jest I suggested we do a wine exchange on board, so perhaps you can bring one for us?

Only if the Captain will let us. :)

And Sunday has come and gone....And I have caught up on the posts at lunch. A belated congrats to Ashely as well.

Scoopie - remember to put that Moon rock back - you make a cute astronaut!

I think it's time for the laundry fairy to visit our house and help out! :rotfl:

Karen - love the "ride thing"

Sunday evening DH and I were part of a cruise at sea. A nice 3 decker party boat took friends and family 3 miles out so we could say goodbye to our friend. It is hoped her ashes will find their way to her home in England as the gulf stream moves north. Despite the rain, we had a clear evening. On our trip out the inlet, a rainbow was reflected behind a cloud :cloud9: kinda sweet.

Now, I'm caught up - back to fluff!!!!and planning for the weekend..

Here is a challenge for those so inclined. To get to 24,000 posts by sailing day (the number hit on the 10 day thread) we would need 44.53 posts per day.

Who is up to it?

I am not going to answer the phone for the rest of today. My sister, Nick and Emmy's Mom, wants to go to WDW in July!!!!!!!!!!! What is she thinking, not crowds, heat, humidity, bugs.......

Any suggestions for planning her days, other than the medical office for heat stroke? I can't help cause I have only been in WDW in the summer once.

Thanks, Sue

Being a native, we do not venture into the parks in July - but - you can still have fun. It is like packing for a cruise - write down everything you want to do and then cut the list by half so you can spend the afternoons in the shade and inside! So, if the trip if for relaxation - and not to make the most of the ticket - here's some suggestions:

After lunch (by 2:00 at the latest) head to the pool, cool shower and then a nap - and remember that all important sunscreen, hat for the parks, long-sleeves if she is fair skinned and lots and lots and lots of water....At least one glass of water for each glass of beer will do it...Then you are rested for the evening which should not begin before 5:00....

We love looking around the hotels, and that is fun for the afternoon if you don't want to nap....Downtown Disney is out because of the walking and heat. And forget the parks. Even the Bar at Tusker House becomes unbearable after May...As for the water parks - they tend to close (Full Up) before noon...at least on weekends.

Anyway - Good Luck.

Yup. I didn't have a supplier. I WAS the supplier. I turned 19 fairly early in my freshman year....back when 19 yr olds were grandfathered into the new legal age law. I remember going into Krogers and buying $50 worth of alcohol....and claiming it was all mine. ;)

yep, I certainly felt sorry for my h.s. friends who stayed in Illinois for college - sun country coolers, there's a brand I haven't thought about in ages...Couldn't stand beer then (and still don't)...And couldn't afford mixed drinks, so never got into the bar scene at school...

Or, if you are one of the top 12 posters to this thread (and you know who you are), you need to pledge a minimum of 4 posts per day. Some will be well above that average. And maybe some new blabbermouths will join in before we sail!

I hereby pledge an average of four posts per day for the cause! (This is #3 today)

On the repo cruise we did had a wine tasting. Everyone brought a bottle of wine from thier state or thier favorite wine. We met in Diversions and DCL supplied glasses. There were some very interesting wines, many very good and others not so good. We certainly enjoyed ourselves. Alex :jumping1:

We missed Friday's Kareoke, I thought so...After the above, I could burst into a song about favorite things, but I will spare you.

:worship: thank you! thank you! I'm right in the middle of rehearsals for, what else, but Sound of Music - don't think I want to hear that song again for awhile...
