Now, wine coolers...ah, yes...remember when they came in 2 liter bottles??

Sun Country... they were $2.69 for a 2-liter... ahhh... freshman year in college... (my dad was my supplier...)

No, there are lots of people who aren't beer drinkers... its an 'acquired taste'... at home, I am more of rum drinker anyway... Goslings Black Seal, from Bermuda...

Watch out for something new in the next year called "Bistro"... its being test-marketed in Sarasota, and hopefully will be rolled out nationally in the next year or so. It's a wine-type 'adult beverage' made using the same process and some of the same ingredients as beer, served in the traditional way that wine is served... tall green bottle, stemmed glasses. It's GOOD!!
Here's the link to an article about it in Sarasota Magazine... (its at the end of the column)

Need any more taste tester??? Maybe you'll have us all drinking your brand, in one form or another, by cruise time.

Page 601 and nightie night - boy you guys were a chatty bunch on Friday night. We were camping in Stephen Foster State Park - a very neat place. Will have to return when we have more time to play. And yes, camping is fun....but no internet access so I missed:

:cheer2: What your kids will be when they grow-up, but I think we may have the next generation of physically fit medical scuba flyers who practice dentistry on plush critters - Hi Scoopie.

I see port in the future - of two types, wine and cruise. Hum, a new Disney theme. We had a bottle of the Dakota winery port - stopped by for a tasking on our way to/from this weekend. Do you think this might contribute to our falls and bruises - NAH!

Mary - glad you enjoyed your vacation - great trip reports. Will keep reading to hear about the Blue Zoo - I may have been there - will need to google to see location. :earsboy:

Have we definitely toasted Spirt of Aloha for Hoop-de doo - could not follow that thread well at all. :earsgirl:

Later :wave2:

FYI Scuba --- The $58.00 bottle of BANFI I mentioned last week was
Summus 2000. I have no clue - It was at our ABC Store.

Yup. I didn't have a supplier. I WAS the supplier. I turned 19 fairly early in my freshman year....back when 19 yr olds were grandfathered into the new legal age law. I remember going into Krogers and buying $50 worth of alcohol....and claiming it was all mine. ;)

After that year, I was the RA... so the less-than-smart students who tried to sneak it in the window became my suppliers. (Of COURSE we turned it all over to campus police like we were supposed to... :rotfl2: )

My first 'alcohol bust' involved Sun Country Wine Coolers, as a matter of fact... as I watched a stupid fool put it on the window ledge that I happened to be LOOKING OUT OF at the time... this guy wasn't too bright. That stupid fool went on to be Mike Tyson's first contender after he got of jail... he lasted 91 seconds, then made more $ doing AOL & Pizza Hut commercials... but he's still an idiot...

:sad1: My neighbor just called, asked if I would feed the cats, Lucky and Nip, and the dreaded CHICKENS:scared: . Maybe Nick and Emmy can come over and help me, the neighbors leave tomorrow.

Sue,
Put the cats in the chicken coop....
The chickens won't need to eat, and the cats will get their own food! :)

Thanks everyone for congratulating Ashley on the swim meet.

Diana -- please let us know what you decide. It is terrible when we have to tell our children no and they won't understand until they are the parent. I think I am even more over protective than my parents were .

Maria,

Sounds like your construction is coming along well. What is your projected completion date?? Keep us posted. I hated when they hung the sheetrock in my bedroom for the closet. took me forever to get that mess cleaned up.

Well, here I am and I still haven't made it to work yet this morning. Ashley seems to have another swimmer's ear infection and I am waiting for doctor's office to open up. After being in the pool so much last week at camp and then at the swim meet this weekend, it really made her ears act up. Hope I can get her in this morning because I am out of drops.

I am not going to answer the phone for the rest of today. My sister, Nick and Emmy's Mom, wants to go to WDW in July!!!!!!!!!!! What is she thinking, not crowds, heat, humidity, bugs.......

Any suggestions for planning her days, other than the medical office for heat stroke? I can't help cause I have only been in WDW in the summer once.

Thanks, Sue

How about some sort of compromise. You don't want her to be gone the whole weekend because you have some plans already made, but she wants to go and spend some time with friends. Given that, can you do something like just take her over for the day? Let her play with her friends, jet ski, etc, and you can have a picnic on the beach.

Just a thought (from the guy who sent his 15 year old to CR for 6 weeks unsupervised).
I like that idea! Maybe I'll just go with them and thus ending the problem. Notice I didn't say "we would go"!

Diana doesn't do sand.........

:flower1: Good morning cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Monday!

Sorry I'm so late today. Woke up late (forgot to set the alarm) and had to be at the hospital at 9:30 am for a mammogram). Then when I hit work I had to sort through the 100+ e-mails waiting for me.

I'll be back at lunch to catch up!

Have a great day everyone!

We must have had a busy Saturday - not many posts but the ones that were made up for Quantity in Quality. And who were they from:

Postings by Scoopie :cool1: Galeston Island one of our favorite places, we camped on the beach - great sunrises...

Posting by Bear :cool1: WDW of course, another one of our favorite places.

And Scoopie's family tree - a hoot. :rotfl2:

Yippee - our plush friends are having fun! Thanks for all the pictures for WDW mini-meets and treats!

We missed Friday's Kareoke, I thought so...After the above, I could burst into a song about favorite things, but I will spare you.

We had planned a gourmet dinner for our camping trip, but after friday's mexican pig-out with my college room-mate and the memorial B-B-Q catered from the best in GA. we were content with a salad, and Little Penguin Chardanny and Shiraz. Burp!

Good thing I am not looking at climbing into a hot tub for relaxation, but with Manatee Springs outside our camp, who needs a hot tub, 'specially with yucky jets. I'll ask DH what he recommends and report back...

All you DWs who are leaving, I'll join you in the frantic cleaning before vacation. It drives DH wild, but I hate to return to a messy and unclean house, the vacation magic will wear off. :wizard:

Later.... :wave2:

What's in the Hard Lime drinks, what kind of alcohol base? I love lime. Is it beer, wine, vodka? Not that I can try it anytime soon, it's probably not low carb, right?

It is definitely NOT low carb. They are outrageously high in carbs. It is classified as an 'FMB', flavored malt beverage, which means that it is 'flavored beer', with the beer flavor missing, and the lime (or lemon, orange, watermelon, blah, blah, blah) in its place. Bacardi Black Cherry and Bacardi Green Apple are both low-carb versions of FMB's...

This whole discussion is going to get very interesting when Lisa gets to be Alicia / Matt's age. It's easy giving advice when it's not your child. I can't wait to hear what Jim will say if Lisa wants to go overseas at 15 for six weeks. It will go something like:
Lisa - "You mean I can't go"
Jim - "You got that right!!!"

I'm definitely in the minority on this one!!! Close the blinds, lock the door, see ya later!!!

Granted, I make sure that the dishwasher is empty, dishes all clean, trash all emptied, and generally, all laundry is done (out of necessity), but I don't clean before vacation specifically.

Ray just informed me that he has our realtor-neighbor coming to do a market analysis on the house next week... guess that means I've got a LOT of cleaning to do... I can't believe that we are actually looking at selling this house already- it's only been 2 years!!! Calgon, take me away. (In my "outdoor, chlorinated, no icky-jet" hot tub, of course).

He's unsupervised? I thought he was staying with a family that you knew. Plus, I think a big difference is that CR isn't known as party capital of the world during that 6 week period.

That being said, I do like your idea of letting her go but not overnight.

He is being supervised by a family he is living with. We know 3 other "kids" who have spent a great deal of time with this family and we meet them at one of the "kids" wedding in Baltimore a few months ago. Plus, Jim is leaving Friday to spend a week down there himself.
