Larry - nice to see you out and about on a Sunday morning.

I had a feeling we'd have to wait a little while because some families have multiple readers and they all need to finish. I'll be patient.

Ooh.... we'll have to stop by on the way to CC then... :rotfl2:

Actually, I haven't been to JB's in a long time... I think I need to go back and remind myself how great their food is... despite the school lunch trays and stray cats.

Than you need to get out more.

Yesterday our linner (lunch and dinner) was at JB's Fish Camp. One of our favorites when we want just seafood. Sharon had the crab cake special. Packed with crab, good, but not great. I had 1/2 lb of rock shrimp. Those are my favorite shrimp. They have a very firm texture and taste like lobster. Butter and rock shrimp, umm... Matthew had the Turtle Mound Platter which had 3 Dunagees Crabs, steamers, shrimp, rock shrimp, oysters (JB farms his own), corn, and other stuff. It comes out piled on a school tray. It filled Matt up so you know it's a lot of food.

Their food is always fresh and we have them steamed so it is pretty healthy. They do a great drawn butter with seasonings in it which gives it a little extra kick.

If Sue stops in Daytona Beach (or anyone else) as they are driving to CC, that will be one place we take them.

The funny part about last night is that we walk in to JB's and there sits a guy we met in Costa Rica at a small pizza place. He has a place here in NSB. It is a small world.

Stacey, I hope that review is up to your standards. :)

Excellent! My mouth is watering!
You guys must remember that we don't live anywhere near the "good" seafood.....it's hard to find really fresh stuff in the middle of the desert! So it's hard for us to tell a "good shrimp" from a bad one. I did have turtle in Belize....did NOT like it at all. Tough to chew...no flavor...

We got a nice, long rain last night. It was soooooo wonderful, and it looks like it may rain again today. I can't tell you how grateful we are to have that rain!

Had to laugh at the little dog last night, though. Remember, he'd never been outside much until he moved in with us. I took him out one last time last night, it was raining. He ran out into the yard......and stopped dead. He stood there, looked around, looked up.....and came running back to the porch. I had to go stand in the rain to get him to go out in it and do his business. Not that I minded standing in the rain...it was cool and wonderful.
What surprised me was that he wasn't afraid of the occasional thunder and lightning.

Same old, same old here today. Laundry....maybe start to pack....and I have got to get started on those invoices......so everyone have a lovely day!!!

Jim - where is Matt heading off to now? You guys certainly are busy!

He is in North Carolina for church camp. Comes back on Saturday night, hopefully in time for him to make our mini-meet at WDW on Saturday night.

If he comes in late we will see him on Sunday.

Just two more weeks of summer schedule and than we go back to normal. I'm starting to look forward to a normal schedule.

I certainly hope he gets back in time....I'm ordering TWO dinners for him! LOL

And I hear you on that "normal" schedule....it isn't any less hectic, but at least it's predictable.

Well, I didn't go into details about the restaurant because I'm embarrassed to admit how much food we ordered! We did bring a good bit of it home though. We liked their calamari, and Kevin really liked his cedar plank salmon. Alicia loved her coconut shrimp, even liked the coleslaw! She didn't like the gumbo, too spicy, so we got that packaged up and got her a cup of lobster bisque, which had quite a few pieces of actual lobster in it! I was jealous. My shrimp creole was just OK, too much salt, brought half of it home. Desserts were yummy, Kevin and Alicia both got the oreo mousse (very big!) and each brought half home. I was able to finish my creme brulee, which had some yummy berries on it. We also had a BV Carneros Chardonnay which was quite nice.

There, is that better?

Had y'all been to Pappadeaux's before? It sounds like y'all didn't know about the portions being so large. I should have warned you. DH & I usually split an entree since they're so large.

We've had a busy Sun. morning - 7:30 a.m. Mass, home for breakfast, then off to the park before it got too hot, Home Depot & Costco. We're trying to get the girls down for a nap now so that we can hit the outdoor pool at the Y this afternoon. Tonight we'll grill NY Strip & chicken breasts for dinner. I still need to go to the grocery for veggies.

We received a post card in yesterday's mail announcing the early dates. We may go over today since we have to go to MCO to pick up Lisa and Scuppie.

How was Lisa's week at gymnastics camp?

What time is dinner????????? :wave2: Dave and I have been laying tile this weekend, and have lived on Pizza and Subway. HAHAHAHAHA!
Thursday night, after we removed all the furniture from the family room, I decided that now would be a great time to repaint, so Friday we repainted a HUGE section of our house. We've spent yesterday and today putting down tile. :jumping1:

It looks great! Now we just have to do the guest bath, kitchen, laundry room and den. ::yes::

Kevin and I went for lunch, right after it opened. Actually, his company did all the finish trim work inside the restaurant. All the woodwork, ceilings, etc. His brother got to hang the fish! Alicia's shrimp was an appetizer order, so she was fine. Kevin's fish was a big piece, but they served it with just asparagus, so it was fine. Mine had rice and was just too much! And the mousse dessert was colossal, but they didn't mind leftovers of that.

Jim, when are you and Sharon arriving on Friday? I might beg a ride to a grocery store! I'll buy Banfi!

Has everyone finished Harry now...safe to chat????? :hyper2:

I have finished it, but Jim is reading it now. Give him one more week before you start talking about it. Matt gets it when he returns from North Carolina (Sr Teen Church Camp) and then finally Lisa gets it. She reads it aloud to me on our treks to and fro the Gym so I get to enjoy it a second time (I read it really fast the first time) and see the book thru her eyes (which is very cool).
